MEMBER ENGAGEMENT MATTERS
FRESH FACE SHERMAN YAP Executive, Accounts
In our continuous efforts to improve customer satisfaction, our service staff have been undergoing re-training under the Service Training and Recovery (STAR) programme. This programme aims to sharpen customer and member engagement skills among front line staff, especially in managing unique or challenging situations. Through discussions and role play, participants are taught ways to address emergencies or difficult issues, and are put through situational scenarios to practise their skills. By acquiring these techniques, staff will be better equipped to

A FRESH LOOK AT
THE LOBBY It’s amazing how new furniture can improve the look of a space! For those who have not yet spotted them, the furniture at our Main Clubhouse Lobby was replaced in February. With a chic, cool colour palette and plush materials, the brand new sets of sofas, carpets and coffee tables lend a clean aesthetic to our spacious lobby.
NEW GYM EQUIPMENT Gym junkies rejoice! We’ve added brand new gym equipment just for you. The new machinery include: ✓ Torso Rotation
✓ Seated Leg Press
✓ Leg Extension
✓ Seated Leg Curl
✓ Chest Press
✓ Abdominal Crunch
The improved gym layout also ensures that users will be able to use all equipment with ease. Happy exercising!
Improved Traffic Flow Members who enter the Club from SLE, CTE or TPE may notice smoother traffic just before turning into Seletar Club Road. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has widened the former merging lanes just outside the slip road into two separate lanes, so members will be able to turn left easily. Being neighbours, we saw many familiar faces playing with us that day, including the Orchid’s Vice President, Mr Yeo Khee Leng who also happens to be a member of Seletar as well. Seletarians emerged winners on the home ground during the game, but of course, none of that mattered – we loved the camaraderie that came alive during both the game and dinner. Congratulations on winning the Masters for the second time running last year! Can we
expect a hat trick this year? Thank you! As long as there is nothing unforeseen during this year’s Masters, I will definitely participate for the third time, hopefully ending it with gold.

NATURE’S
WONDERS At Seletar, we are committed to protect and enhance the natural environment that surrounds us. In fact, it is the wildlife that thrives in our golf course that makes golfing at Seletar so unique. We strive to promote green practices and care for all living organisms in our environment, and we are proud to have members and staff who embrace this philosophy. Among them is long-time member Mr Foo Jit Leang, and the Club’s horticulturist Joseph Kwok. How do these individuals help make Seletar a greener space? Seletar Buzz finds out.

SG20 VS GOOFERS
GOLF CHALLENGE 2016
Golfers from Seletar’s golfing groups SG20 and Goofers went head to head in their Golf Challenge 2016! Held on 2nd April this year, the event which dates back to 1998 was recently revived in 2014 and has been an annual event ever since. The two groups each fielded 20 golfers for the competitive tournament, with a wager that the winning group pays 30% and losing group pays 70% for dinner! The result: SG20 won! However, scores were tossed aside as both groups retired to the Eagle’s View for a night of feasting, drinking and merry-making. “Although
