Guideline for ESG Operation

Guideline for ESG Operation

Cafe Show Seoul presents a new paradigm as a leader in the exhibition industry and offers participating companies ESG operational guidelines for a sustainable future through eco-friendly exhibition management

Recently, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of ESG practices in the exhibition industry, leading to various approaches. Cafe Show provides an expanded eco -friendly exhibition operational guideline to encourage active participation of our exhibitors in ESG practices. Your efforts for the planet and responsible consumption to protect the environment will lead to a brighter future of the coffee industry.

Adopting open Booths designs to minimize material usage from the design stage

For space-only Booths with 6 or more units, we encourage you to adopt an eco-friendly Booths operation by constructing more than 1/3 of the horizontal wall (long side) in an open format, reducing material usage and creating a safe and open flow to attract more visitors.

Minimize single-use materials and prioritize recycling/eco-friendly materials

For space-only Booths, we recommend using reusable blocks, art walls & palettes, trusses, and maxima for construction.

Reduce the use of wallpaper/regular paint

use non-volatile organic compound (VOC) paints

For installing wooden Booths, it is highly recommended to apply eco-friendly paints instead of wallpaper/regular paint Please consider using eco-friendly materials like honeycomb boards for promotional panels.

Re-use interior furniture and wall structures

Reuse interior furniture or wall structures for booths decoration in your store or showroom to contribute to environmental protection.

Eco- friendly Boots Operation Guide

Utilize reusable displays: pull-up banners, digital information displays (DID)

Instead of disposable foam boards that are difficult to recycle, utilize reusable pull-up banners. We also highly recommend using digital displays like PDP.

Minimize Printed Materials (Utilize Digital Displays, QR Codes)

Use eco-friendly paper and plant-based inks

For eco-friendly exhibition operations, please produce as few printed materials as possible and utilize digital signage or QR codes. If you must print materials, make efforts to protect the environment by using eco -friendly paper and plant-based inks.

Minimize Unnecessary Packaging for Promotional Materials

Use recyclable and eco-friendly materials for production

Over-packaging has been a significant environmental concern. Minimize unnecessary packaging for promotional materials and use recyclable eco-friendly materials or biodegradable materials.

Use Eco-Friendly Bags Made from Sustainable Materials Instead of Shopping Bags

How about using eco-friendly bags made from sustainable materials instead of shopping bags for your products? Not only are these bags practical, but they also offer excellent promotional effects

Practices for Providing Food and Beverages

Use smaller sampling cups (3~4oz cups)

Cafe Show Seoul has been conducting the 'Thank You, Coffee' eco-friendly campaign, promoting the reduction of sample cup usage. By using 3~4oz cups, we aim to minimize the number of cups left and discarded, as well as to reduce waste generated from sample cups.

Encouragement of Reusable cup

To promote bringing reusable cups, Cafe Show Seoul has set up the eco-cleaning zones. We kindly ask visitors to actively cooperate by using reusable cups for tasting.

Minimization of Sample Quantity

Provided in Reusable or Eco-Friendly Containers

By reducing the quantity of samples provided and offering them in reusable or eco-friendly containers, we can significantly reduce waste. Even if it is a bit inconvenient, please join us in protecting the environment and taking steps to mitigate climate change Donate Leftover Exhibits

Please practice sharing by donating leftover exhibits. e.g., to food banks and others. ex) Food banks etc.

Practices for Waste Management

Use Eco-Friendly

Reducing Single-Use Cup Usage

Minimizing Plastic Usage & Utilizing Recyclable

Plastics

Please actively use reusable containers and cups instead of singleuse cups. Minimize plastic usage, but if you must use it, consider utilizing recyclable plastic products.

Green Booths

Participating voluntarily in Seoul Cafe Show's eco -friendly campaign, 'Green Booths' companies are contributing to the environment by providing sample cups that fully decompose and disappear within 10 weeks. Join the Green Booths campaign, which offers a more meaningful cup!

Properly Dispose of Recyclable Waste in Recycling Bins

Seoul Cafe Show has been conducting a campaign to place recycling bins to ensure proper recycling within the exhibition hall. Please use nearby recycling bins to correctly dispose of recyclable waste.

Accommodations

Book certified eco-friendly accommodations and participate in reducing amenity usage.

Use Public Transportation or Eco -Friendly

Modes of Transport

Use public transportation or eco-friendly modes of transport that can reduce carbon footprint.

Use Energy-Efficient Products

Use energy-efficient electronic products.

Practice Fair

Trade

For collaborative growth, engage in fair contracts with collaborating companies and subcontractors.

Q. I need an electricity. What is kw?

▶ Applied KW of electricity refers to the 'consumption' (at the moment of operation) of the machine operation, not the total. Please apply after adding up the power of the equipment you will be using.

Q. How much kw of electricity should I apply for?

▶ First, you need to make a plan on how you will operate the booth for 4 days. Please check the type and quantity of the electronic device to be used first and inquire about the required power consumption from the manufacturer/rental company of the device. Additionally, please consult with your booth contractor.

Q. What is the difference between single-phase and three-phase?

▶ The electricity used in general homes is single-phase (220V), and in factories, industrial sites, or places that require a lot of power, three-phase electricity is used. When using machines/electronic products, single -phase electricity is usually used unless there is a special me ntion of three-phase electricity. Please check with the manufacturer/rental company of the machine.

Q. From when will the electricity be supplied?

▶ It is estimated that electricity will be supplied after 5pm on the second day of booth setup. Due to safety issues, electricity cannot be supplied even if one exhibitor does not complete the installation. Therefore, exhibitors with space-only booths are requested to cooperate with the booth builder to make sure all the electricity installation is done in time.

Q. Is there any electricity provided as complimentary for the Space-Only/Shell Stand booth?

▶ Exhibitors with space-only booths are required to apply for electricity separately. Shell stand exhibitors are provided with 1kW of basic electricity per booth.

Q. How can I apply for the wireless internet?

▶ The internet service we provide upon application is a LAN cable. Wi-Fi routers/hubs are not available. If you need wireless Internet service, please apply directly through an external company (SK Broadband +82 26000-1588)

Q. Is it impossible to use the water supply and drainage in Coffee Alley?

▶ Water supply & drainage and compressed air installation is not possible in the Hall E (Coffee Alley) due to the structural limitations of the space Please use water container/bottle for water usage.

Q. Is the installation of the water supply and drainage at the lobby booth impossible? (L100, L300, E000)

▶ Water supply & drainage and compressed air installation is not possible in the Lobby area due to the structural limitations of the space. Please use water container/bottle for water usage.

Q. When is the due date of the additional utilities application?

▶ The general application period for additional facilities is by September 30th. Only exhibitors that submit the application form and settle the payment for applied additional utilities will be accepted. It is expected that high amount of electricity and water supply will be requested . As available facilities in the exhibition hall are limited, applications will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis Please make sure you submit the application with necessary amount of utilities within the deadline.

Q. Is it possible to apply for the additional utilities after the deadline?

▶ Applications might be accepted with additional cost(*1.5) during the special application period. The special application period will be temporarily open on-site from November 4th~5th. Please visit the organizer ’ s office to check availability and submit the application. Payment will be available by credit card.
