Senior Human Resources Technician

DEFINITION Under direction, the Senior Human Resources Technician performs difficult, varied and technical and confidential work required to administer human resources programs, including, recruitment, benefits administration, performs research and analysis, provides consulting services to Agency departments related to human resources programs; performs related work as required. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Receives general supervision from the Human Resources Manager. Exercises no supervision over staff, but may assist in directing the work of other personnel. CLASS CHARACTERISTICS The essential functions of this job include: processing personnel transactions; processing personnel requisitions and modifications either manually and/or electronically; compiling and analyzing data for reports; creating and updating personnel files; responding to inquiries made by phone or in person; training clerical staff; processing and scheduling appointments; and may be assigned to supervise clerical staff. The Senior Personnel Services Technician works directly with the public, departments and employees concerning various personnel matters. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.
