MINUTES SAN FRANCISCO HOUSING AUTHORITY Community Partners Annual Plan 2012 Meeting March 20, 2012

Welcome Introductions Presentation of current Eligibility Process presented by Yoshiko Kennedy, Supervisor, Housing Choice Voucher Program. Questions: Mr. Bratt: Can a person port into San Francisco? Mrs. Kennedy responded that an individual can port into San Francisco. Ms. Howard: Who is responsible for the Limited English Proficiency Plan? Mrs. Martin-Mason responded: Pamela Palpallatoc. Chapter 3: Ms. Howard asked if copies of the criminal background check is provided when an individual is denied admission due to a criminal background check. Ms. Kennedy responded that an individual denied housing due to a criminal background check is provided with the case number that was the cause of the rejection. Mr. Bratt asked whether 666 Ellis will be receiving assistance for their tenant association concerns. Bill Ford, Attorney for the Housing Authority, responded that Pamela Palpallatoc is overseeing the tenant association concerns and the question should be referred to her. Ms. Howard asked what the timeframes will be for the grievance procedures. Mrs. Martin-Mason responded that the grievance procedure in the proposed policy is in Chapter 14, which will be available on www.sfha.org shortly. Chapter 4: Mr. Bratt asked why the Housing Authority does not provide a landlord list with available units like it did in the past? Mrs. Martin-Mason explained that preferences will be accepted throughout the Annual Plan process but that May 8, 2012 is a meeting for the Community Partners where only preferences will be discussed. The preferences that are mandated are Veterans and Displacement by Government Action. Mrs. Martin-Mason asked whether there were any suggestions for preferences. Mr. Bratt suggested disabled persons. Ms. Howard suggested victims of Domestic Violence and Homelesness. Chapter 5: Ms. Howard asked for reasons that a client may not be able to visit a unit prior to accepting. Meeting Adjourned.
