Trip Information The 2015 South Florida PGA Travel Pro-Am to England will include 9 teams 40 travelers. The Pro-Am features an outstanding group of professionals and amateurs which will make for a fabulous time in England! Southport is a large seaside town in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton, Merseyside, England. It lies on the Irish Sea coast of North West England and is fringed to the north by the Ribble estuary. Southport today is still one of the most popular seaside resorts in the UK.

Skins Game    

Daily skins games are available $20 per player per day Players split into skins competition based on handicap index with three divisions: Professionals only, amateurs with a handicap of zero through 9.0, and amateurs with a handicap of 9.1 and higher. (Please note this is tentative based on amateur handicaps.) Skins are based upon gross score and must be birdie or better

Daily tournament results can be picked up nightly at the front desk.

Amateur Handicaps

All amateur handicaps will be secured through on-line verification two weeks prior to the event. As with all PGA events we ask that all Professionals review the handicap roster upon distribution, confirming that they fairly represent the ability of each player. If an error is found in handicapping we ask that you please contact Meredith prior to departing for England to insure the accuracy of all paperwork.

Golf Course Information Royal Birkdale Royal Birkdale, one of Britainâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s finest golf clubs, has been voted the No 1 course in Britain and is among the best in the world. The stunning coastal resort of Southport is the home of Royal Birkdale, for many golfers, the best of all the great golf courses to have staged The Open Championship. Hillside

Hillside Golf Club is located in Southport, England. It lies almost side by side with the Royal Birkdale course, amid a stretch of sandhills, and the quality of the individual holes is such that golfers may find it difficult to separate the two. Typical of the links courses on the Northwest coastline, Hillside is open to the wind coming in from the Irish Sea and laid out in a truly stunning setting, the course is a true test for golfers of all handicaps. Since 1967, Hillside has hosted several prestigious championships. In the late 1970s, the British Ladies Amateur Golf Championship and The Amateur Championship were held; in the 1980s the Sun Alliance PGA Championship and The Amateur Championship; in the 1990s the English Open Amateur and the International European Amateur. Royal Liverpool

Founded in 1869, Royal Liverpool is on what was then the racecourse of the Liverpool Hunt Club and received the "Royal" designation in 1871 due to the patronage of the Duke of Connaught of the day, one of Queen Victoria's younger sons. Robert Chambers and George Morris (younger brother of Old Tom Morris) were commissioned to lay out the original course, which was extended to 18 holes in 1871. Royal Liverpool has a long and distinguished history of golfing firsts. It was originator and host to the inaugural menâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s amateur championship in 1885, which became The Amateur Championship. It was host to the first ever international match between Scotland and England in 1902. It hosted the first Home International matches, and the first transatlantic contest between Great Britain & Ireland and the USA in 1921, an event which became the Walker Cup the following year. In fact, it is Royal Liverpool Golf Club's contribution to the amateur game that has set it apart from all other clubs in England. Although, at the end of the nineteenth century, it was the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews that took on the role of the governing body in golf as the game developed, it was at Royal Liverpool that the rules of amateur status were laid down. Royal Lytham & St. Annes

Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club was founded in 1886 and the present Course constructed in 1897. The Clubhouse celebrated its Centenary in 1998. It is one of the premier links courses in the world, host to ten Open Championships, two Ryder Cups and numerous other major tournaments including the Women's and Seniors Open Championships. is one of the courses in the Open Championshiprotation. The Women's British Open has also been played on the course four times: once prior to being designated a major championship by the LPGA Tour, and three times since. Formby

Founded in 1884, the course was redesigned by Willie Park in 1912. Over the years the course has undergone some changes, including some in 1922 by James Braid. The course has been the venue for a number of tournaments and competitions over the years, including the Curtis Cup in 2004 and The Amateur Championship in 1957, 1967, 1984, and 2009. Airport Transfer/Transportation

Airport transfer from Manchester to Southport – The Vincent. When you arrive at baggage claim please look for the CELTIC GOLF sign. All transportation to and from the golf course will be provided as well. If you have additional travel arrangements that need to be made please contact Celtic Golf directly at 1800-535-6148.

Currency

Currency is the British Pound. British Pound can be purchased at foreign exchange departments, US Banks or any bank in England including those located in airports, which are open for all flight arrivals. We recommend everyone exchange their monies prior to departure in the US. Current Exchange Rate: 1 British Pound = $1.56 US Dollars = $.66 (as of July 5, 2015)
