Pro-Assistant Championship PGA Golf Club – Wanamaker & Ryder Tuesday, June 11, 2018 NOTICE TO COMPETITORS FORMAT: 27-Hole, 9-9-9 Team Stroke Play Competition with Optional Team Bonus and Skins Pools. Wanamaker Course Holes 1–9 (FourBall), Wanamaker Course Holes 10–18 (Scramble), Ryder Course Holes 1–9 (Modified Pinehurst). LIFT, CLEAN AND PLACE (Through the Green): In all formats the players may lift, clean and place the ball within one scorecard length of the hole when the ball is located through the green, ie: NOT in hazards or on the putting green. Any time the ball is lifted under the Rules, it may be substituted. FOUR-BALL (Wanamaker Course, Holes 1–9): Two competitors play as partners, each playing his/her own ball. The lower score of the partners is the score for the hole. If one partner fails to complete the play of a hole, there is no penalty. Scores must be individually identifiable. SCRAMBLE (Wanamaker Course, Holes 10–18): On each hole, each team member may hit a tee shot. The team then selects one of the tee shots from which to play. Both team members may then hit from that position. This procedure is repeated until the ball is holed. Each team member may place the ball within one SFPGA scorecard length of the selected shot, but no nearer the hole. If a selected shot is played from a hazard, rough, fairway or fringe, the ball when moved (up to one SFPGA scorecard length) must remain in that same condition. When putting, you may place your ball within two inches of the selected shot, no nearer the hole. Once a ball is holed, no further strokes count. On the putting green, you may stand behind a teammate to determine the line of putt. MODIFIED PINEHURST (Ryder Course, Holes 10–18): Two competitors play as partners, each playing from the teeing ground of every hole. The partners then select one of the tee shots from which to play and the other ball is picked up. Play from this point on is alternate shot until the ball is holed. In addition to the 2017-18 USGA Rules of Golf and the South Florida PGA Rules of Play Card, the following local rules will govern all play: TEES: All Male Professionals will play the BLACK SFPGA tee markers. All Female Professionals will play the WHITE SFPGA tee markers. OUT OF BOUNDS (Wanamaker Course): In addition to item #9 on the SFPGA Rules of Play Card, out-of-bounds is defined by: 1. White lines tying into white out of bounds stakes when tying into a water hazard. 2. Inside edge of street curbing on hole: #1, #2, #13, #14, #16, and #17. 3. The water’s edge on the opposite margin of the lateral water hazard on hole: #5, #6, #7, #8, #11, #13, #16, and #17. OUT OF BOUNDS (Ryder Course): In addition to item #9 on the SFPGA Rules of Play Card, out-of-bounds is defined by: 1. White lines tying into white out of bounds stakes when tying into a lateral water hazard. 2. The water’s edge on the opposite side of the lateral water hazard on hole: #11, #12, #13, #15 and #16. 3. Inside edge of street curbing on hole: #10, #11, #12, #13, and #18. 4. Edge of the cart path that is defined by white stakes with blue tops on hole #12. LATERAL WATER HAZARD HOLE #10 (Wanamaker Course): During play of hole #10, the water hazard to the right of the hole is deemed to be a lateral water hazard, even though it is marked yellow. COQUINA SHELL AREAS: Coquina sand areas (tan color sand, containing shells, pebbles and the like) are deemed through the green. Coquina sand areas are deemed to be integral parts of the course. SCORECARDS/SCORING AREA: Scorecards must be signed, attested and returned to the main scoring area located inside the clubhouse in the 1916 Bar & Grille. You may use the space at the bottom of the scorecard to keep track of your team score. The gross scores to count must be individually identifiable for the Four-Ball portion of the competition. TIES/PLAY-OFFS: Ties for the overall championship (ONLY) will be broken via a sudden death play-off immediately following play starting on a hole to-be-determined by the Committee. All other ties will result in splitting of the purse. RULES COMMITTEE: Geoff Lofstead, Meredith Schuler, Dominic Smith, PGA, Brett Graf, PGA (954) 599-6003, Matthew Youngblood
