Attendance RafflesDesignInternational maintains a very strict standard of performance and attendance for its courses. Students are expected to attend all classes. A class for which a student is registered is an appointment that takes precedence over all other engagements. Non-attendance or absences in 25% or more of the classes for a subject may result in a grade of ‘F’ at the end of the term.
Absence due to illness: RDI shall only accept medical certificates issued by registered medical doctors as valid justification for absenteeism. Any other justification and documents may be considered on a case-to-case basis.
Punctuality Students are expected to arrive for their classes on time. However if a student arrives within fifteen minutes of start of class, the student will be marked half day absent’. Thereafter the student will be marked a ‘full absent’.Students are expected to arrive for their class on time.

Entry Requirements 10 + 2 from any recognised board. Class 12 students appearing or waiting may also apply for admission. English communication skills. Strong professional interest in chosen course of design. Minimum age requirement is seventeen years of age. All courses at RDI, Mumbai are conducted in English. Students must have the ability to speak and write fluently in English. English proficiency level of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent would be required for the students who do not hail from English medium schools. Extensive portfolio/mark sheet(transcripts) & resume – for professionals & students with prior learning in the design course for module exemptions. Personal interview along with original documents with Program Director is mandatory.
Academic Terms Raffles Design Institute offers 4 intakes annually: every January, April, July and October. Students are given the flexibility to commence their studies at a time convenient to them, while graduates can enter the labour force at 4 separate times through the year, maximising employment prospects for graduates and serving the on-going human resource needs of respective design industries throughout the year. One academic year consists of 4 terms with 12 study weeks, and a 1 week holiday between terms. Orientation Day happens on the first Monday of the corresponding month, with the opportunity to speak to lecturers and fresh students.
