Civitan Day Camp This camp is designed for young people with developmental or other disabilities requiring adapted instruction and increased supervision. Our structured routine and staff ratio provides a successful environment for campers with behavioral and cognitive disabilities. Campers should be prepared to spend a large part of the day outdoors and travel through the park as a group. This program is licensed by Kansas Department of Health and Environment Child Care. Civitan Building in Gage Park Fee: $135/week. A nonrefundable/ nontransferable registration fee of $25 for each week is due at time of registration. Balance of $110 is due 10 days prior to each week. ADAPTIVE RECREATION In an effort to expand programs offered to the adaptive community, Shawnee County Parks + Recreation will help day service providers set up a variety of exciting programs that promote an active and healthy lifestyle. Individuals can join planned group activities. Some of the programs available are racquetball, pickleball, volleyball, wallyball and open gym. Other program ideas can be discussed by calling 251-6886.

Adaptive Wally Ball Enjoy a fun way to stay active and work toward personal fitness goals. This game is along the lines of volleyball but it is played on a racquetball court. Age: 18+ Date: Ongoing Time: Mon. & Thur. 9 a.m.-noon Fee: $2 per person $10 per group

Dance House Spend an evening with your friends. Listen to music from Solid Rock Sound Machine. Big Gage Shelter 251-6800 Age: 16+ Date: Jan. 13, Feb. 10, March 10, April 14 Time: Thur. 6-8 p.m. Fee: $5 per person

Mid-Day Dance Party Come spend some time with your friends in a local park, while listening to music from Shawnee County Parks + Recreation Rec+Roll Van. Age: 18 + Date: March 29 at Coral #2, Gage Park, April 26 at Crestview Shelter Time: 1-2:30 p.m. Fee: Free

Bocce Ball Bring your friends and come play this fun Italian-based game outdoors and indoors. Participants will get to play a fun game and socialize with friends. Crafty Crafts Participants will get creative to create their very own craft suited for the upcoming holiday. Each month we will create a craft for the next holiday.
