He is an ardent and active supporter of the health care network’s professionals. He has been a Palisades Medical Center Foundation Board Trustee for more than seven years and previously served on the hospital’s Board of Governors.
Assemblywoman Angela McKnight said she understands the importance of New Jersey City University to Jersey City and the need to continue to fight for it.
“Generations of families have gone to this university,” she said. “NJCU is a staple in the community. To have this ripped out from underneath us would be devastating.”
Mariana Diaz, the longtime diplomat who has been charged with opening a consulate for Mexico in New Brunswick, said she’s not sure when it will open or where it will be.
“Those are the things that we’re working on now,” she said. But Diaz, who has served in similar diplomatic roles in New York City, Denver, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., is certain what the consulate will do: Help Mexican nationals in a variety of ways including starting businesses.
