GUTIERREZ-SCACCETTI HEADS LIST OF HONOREES AT HISPANIC CHAMBER GALA Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti, the chief of staff to Gov. Phil Murphy and commissioner of the Department of Transportation, heads the list of honorees at annual gala of the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey. The event, a celebration of exceptional individuals and businesses that have made significant contributions to the Hispanic community in the state, will be held Dec. 7 at the Legacy Castle in Pompton Plains.

ORTHODOX JEWISH CHAMBER ATTENDS STATEWIDE HISPANIC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF NJ AWARDS GALA 2023 The Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce's attendance at the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of NJ Awards Gala in 2023 was a significant and meaningful event for both organizations. This Gala was attended by prominent figures from New Jersey's public and private sectors, as well as individuals, businesses, Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, and professional associations across the state. The event was a valuable opportunity for networking and building relationships between the two communities.

POU, MALDONADO TO BE HONORED BY SHCCNJ AT LEAGUE CONFERENCE The Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey will honor state Sen. Nellie Pou and Hudson County official E. Junior Maldonado as Trailblazers at the chamber’s Atlantic City Hospitality Fiesta — traditionally one of the top parties at the League of Municipalities conference — at 6 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Noyes Arts Garage. Pou (D-Paterson), a state senator and president of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators, will be honored as the Latina Trailblazer for her dedication to public service and advocacy for Hispanic communities. Maldonado, the president of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, will be recognized as the Latino Trailblazer for his leadership and dedication.

HISPANIC ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM ACCEPTING APPLICATION FOR NEXT (FREE) COHORT The Hispanic Entrepreneurship Training Program — a program that has become a model for providing education, resources, and support for minority-owned small businesses — is accepting applications. Here’s the best part: It’s free. The program, put on by the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey, caters to the needs of minority entrepreneurs who have the desire to start and expand a business but lack the necessary resources to do so.

HCCC RECEIVES HISPANIC ASSOCIATION OF COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES ‘OUTSTANDING MEMBER INSTITUTION AWARD’ Hudson County Community College (HCCC) was recently recognized by the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) with the “Outstanding HACU-Member Institution Award” for excellence in support of HACU’s mission. The award was presented during HACU’s 2023 conference, “Championing Hispanic Higher Education Success: Diversifying Our Workforce and Strengthening America,” Oct. 28-30, 2023 in Chicago, Illinois.
