Our Chairman, Luis De La Hoz and President/CEO, Carlos Medina were named part of this Council. TRENTON – Governor Phil Murphy today announced the formation of a statewide council of leaders to advise on New Jersey’s restart and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Governor’s Restart and Recovery Advisory Council will work in conjunction with the commission named last week and will bring together leaders from various industry, community, and faith-based groups and institutions across New Jersey to advise state leadership on economic issues impacted by the pandemic. “As we begin the difficult task of restarting New Jersey’s economy and recovering from the damaging effects of COVID-19, this advisory council brings together leaders from all walks of New Jersey life,” said Governor Murphy. “This group will not only help us gather the local intelligence we need to get our economy running again, but also will help us create the framework for coping with our new long-term economic realities.” Read the entire article here...
The city will use the benchmarks similar to the milestones the state government is employing to determine when to reopen, including the ability to test individuals for exposure to the virus, contact tracing and isolation, and declining numbers of cases. Two other participants in the town hall – Carlos Medina, chairman of the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey and John Harmon, president and chief executive officer of the African American Chamber of Commerce – implored companies to support businesses owned by people of color. Those businesses “don’t have access to years of Rolodexes that other businesses do,” Medina said. He noted that for some companies, 50 percent of their sales come from people of color, but their boards and csuites do not reflect that diversity.

CDC Decision Tools with Marco A. Wells Fargo & Company announced that its subsidiary, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., has received a national rating of “Outstanding” in its most recent Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Performance Evaluation, which covers the years 2012 to 2018. Locally, the New York multistate metropolitan statistical area (MMSA), which includes the Newark, Jersey City and Trenton MSAs, received an “Outstanding” CRA rating. Also, the Philadelphia MMSA, which includes the Camden and Atlantic City MSAs, received an “Outstanding” CRA rating. “While we’re incredibly proud that our national CRA rating reflects the work Wells Fargo has been doing to serve lowand moderate-income communities, we’re also honored that our work in New Jersey and the surrounding region has been recognized as ‘Outstanding’,” said Wells Fargo Northeast Lead Region President David Miree. “This result reflects our ongoing commitment to lending to, investing in and providing service to communities throughout the area. We will continue to promote economic growth, sustainable homeownership and neighborhood stability in low- and moderate-income communities in New Jersey and the region and everywhere else we do business.” This national and regional ratings reflects Wells Fargo’s strong performance on the exam’s components and the company’s proven commitment to serving low- to moderateincome communities.
