United Airlines Strengthens Onboard Mask Policy to Further Protect Passengers and Employees Against COVID-19 Spread Airline will suspend travel privileges of any customer who refuses to wear a mask on the aircraft United Airlines announced today that, along with other Airlines for America (A4A) members, it will strengthen mandatory mask policies to further mitigate against the spread of COVID-19 and help continue to keep passengers and crew safe. While the overwhelming majority of passengers are complying with United's mandatory policy, starting on June 18, any passenger that does not comply when onboard a United flight will be placed on an internal travel restriction list. Customers on this list will lose their travel privileges on United for a duration of time to be determined pending a comprehensive incident review. United currently requires all passengers to wear a face covering onboard its flights and expects that policy to remain in place for at least the next 60 days. The only exceptions to this policy are individuals who have a medical condition or a disability that prevents them from wearing a face covering, those who cannot put on or remove a face covering themselves and small children. Customers are expected to wear a mask for the duration of the flight, except when eating or drinking.

CALLING ARTISTS, CRAFTSPEOPLE, MUSICIANS, OR PERFORMERS “Reflections and Expressions: Communities and Cultures of Central and South America” Down Jersey Folklife Center at WheatonArts is seeking to connect with visual artists, musicians and dancers whose ethnic and cultural backgrounds are related to the countries located in Central and South America. The artists will be invited to participate in a nine-month multi-layered and multi-faceted project, tentatively scheduled for the spring, summer and fall seasons of 2021. The project is planned in the context of the WheatonArts’ Creative Community Connections initiative, a series of programs inaugurated in 2004 to raise awareness of cultural heritages and to create a welcoming community setting for understanding, appreciating, and sharing the arts and cultures of our region’s extraordinarily diverse population. Major highlights of programs will include: one or more major exhibitions, community arts projects, demonstrations, classes, workshops, performances, teacher training activities, one or more festivals, artist market, and a conference. We would like to present a variety of artists working in folk and traditional art forms, whose artworks can once again engage our audiences in conversations about cultural heritage and shared humanity. Our major focus is to be on arts and cultures associated with Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, Bolivia and Argentina. Major art forms to be featured include but are not limited to: Guatemalan weavings, Ecuadorian bamboo carvings, pottery, folk music and dance, Peruvian retablos (boxed scenes), ceramics, mates burilados (carved and painted gourds), textiles, carpets of flower petals, music and dance, Panamanian molas (reversed appliquéd fabric), baskets and beadwork, Salvadorian wood paintings and ceramics, Garifuna music and dance from Belize, Colombian tree-bark dolls and cumbia music, Venezuelan wood sculptures, Brazilian ceramics, woodcut prints, capoeira and batalá drumming, Bolivian carved sanots (saints), traditional music and dance, Argentinean fileteado (traditional painting), leather works, woodworks, costume making, masks, folk music and dance.

Greetings! I hope that all of you, your families and staff are safe and healthy. We at the NJBAC are all safe and working remotely from home. The team has been consolidated into one unit to answer the COVID-19 questions of businesses, entrepreneurs, gig workers, and all who call. Since March, we have fielded over 26,000 calls, with over a million hits on the business portal. I am reaching out to you today because the state is now on the reopening and recovery. NJBAC is here to continue to be your resource for compliance with the state's executive orders. But we are gradually seeing a ramp-up in questions from businesses about non-covid issues, like permits, tax clearances, tax registrations, etc. The NJBAC Business Advocates have reached out to many of you offering opportunities to discuss COVID questions, participate in webinars, updates on financial resources, clarification of Executive Orders, etc. We will continue to be available to you and your team as we transition to reopening and recovery. Just call or email. We can set up regular calls to stay in touch and up-to-date.

Folks reach out through the business portal cv.business.nj.gov or call our hotline at 800-Jersey-7.
