AXONOMETRIC drawings

• What is an axonometric and what is it for ? • What is the difference between axonometric and isometric projection ? • How to start drawing an axonometric drawing

• method of projection (axonometric projection) in which a three-dimensional object is represented by a drawing (axonometric drawing) having all axes drawn to exact scale, resulting in the optical distortion of diagonals and curves. • It is a simple way to approach a 3D drawing. It is the plan view of your drawing rotated 45 degrees and projected upwards • It can be used for sketches or to draw to a predetermine scale. If a scale is used every part of the drawing can be measured with accuracy. • The lines in Axonometric or Isometric drawings do not converge but they only go 3 different directions ie vertical & 30 degrees left and right in isometric projections ,vertical and 45 degrees left and right in axonometric projections • Tools, relevant information ie drawings & select best view, determine the degree to be used
