For as long as I can remember, I have done my level best to not have this monthly piece be just a long winded version of the table of contents. I’ve written about life, personal experiences and opinions and sometimes just the odd observance. I’ve always been pretty clear if I am talking about something directly related to me or mine or if I am speaking in general terms of the world around me. It’s never really occurred to me that I might need to end some of my Editor’s Notes with a Law and Order-esque disclaimer. Last year, I reran a timeless piece I wrote about the challenges of the holidays. It’s a theme that is pretty universal in nature. We’ve seen the movies. We’ve heard the stories. Almost everyone I know has someone in their family that makes the Holiday get together well, um, let’s just say, ‘interesting.’ Not three weeks later, the proverbial sh*t hit the fan when, some members of my extended family—for the first time in like ever—decided to read the magazine and were sure I had written the entire piece about them. Whatever you can imagine the quotient of drama was, multiply it times three and you might come close to the mark. I spent hours basically explaining, “That editorial had nothing to do with you. I wasn’t talking about you at all and if you think I was, that’s on you. I can’t make you see yourself any differently than you choose to see yourself.” We all walk around with this internal dialogue. I carried one for many years, which repeated some of the terrible things my father said about me ad naseum. No matter how much good I did in the world, or what I accomplished in my professional life, it was overshadowed by the voice inside that told me over and over again that I was a “selfish piece of sh*t that will never be worth a damn.” It took me years (and a whole lot of Iyanla Vanzant) to realize that I was doing more damage to myself than anyone else ever could. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what other people think of you. What matters is what you think about yourself and if you continue to repeat all the negative stuff others have said about you, you begin to truly believe those things, even after those who said them are long gone from your life. When you go through a break up, you can make the choice to listen to Celine Dion singing “All By Myself” on repeat until your sobbing eyes are swollen shut and you can no longer breathe through your nose or you can bust out the Gloria Gaynor and sing along with “I Will Survive.” Our everyday internal dialogue works the same way. Remember that girlfriend who never mentioned all the amazing, loving things you did for her but went on and on about the one time you did something she didn’t like? How many times have you done the same thing to yourself? Ultimately, the key to success, in any area of your life, is to replace all the negative internal dialogue with something good and do whatever you need to do to be the best you can be. Once you’ve done that, it won’t matter what anyone says or writes. See you next month.

The Taste’s third season returns to ABC. Back to train and terrify the fledgling cooks are the show’s four superstar mentors: Nigella Lawson, Anthony Bourdain, Ludo Lefebvre and Marcus Samuelsson. The search to find America’s hottest, new undiscovered cook is on in this intense weekly competition as the mentors see who is tough enough to take the heat. Premieres Dec. 4 at 8 pm.

Opposites attract in Life Partners. Based on the play of the same name Life Partners is about a hilariously codependent friendship between heterosexual type A Paige (Gillian Jacobs) and lesbian type B slacker Sasha (Leighton Meester). When Paige falls hard for Tim, a handsome doctor, the women have to create a friendship that works around another person. Catch it in theaters starting on Dec. 5.

R&B artist Mary J. Blige’s The London Sessions was called “superb” by Billboard, drawing favorable comparisons to 2005’s Breakthrough. The 13th studio album to be released from Blige, she’s teamed up with a host of up and coming British acts including Disclosure, Naughty Boy, Emeli Sande and Sam Smith. This fresh vibe mixes soul with R&B and house. Available now. What are you waiting for?

TNT’s The Librarians series follows a group of daring librarians (yes, really) who must protect mysterious artifacts housed at the magical, centuries-old Metropolitan Public Library. Rebecca Romijn stars as Eve Baird, a counter-terrorism agent in charge of protecting the librarians. Lindy Booth is the gifted Cassandra, while Jane Curtain and Noah Wyle reprise their roles from the original films. With Jake Stone and Ezekiel Jones. Premiers Dec. 7 at 8 pm.

Stephen Sondheim’s celebrated musical comes to the big screen! Into the Woods is a crossover of all our favorite fairy tales, centered on a childless couple that must go on a quest. Meryl Streep as The Witch heads up an all-star cast including Anna Kendrick, Emily Blunt, Christine Baranski as Cinderella’s stepmother and Tracey Ullman as Jack and the Beanstalk’s mother. With Johnny Depp, James Corden. In theaters Dec. 25.

Taylor Swift’s 1989 is simply fantastic. Her fifth album is an eclectic, heartfelt mix that departs from her usual country-infused sound. Swift’s bubbly girl-with-a-guitar vibe has been replaced with a richer, subtler message. Inspired by pop singers such as Annie Lennox and Madonna and produced in part by Imogen Heap, 1989 features hits “Shake It Off” and the rousing, Top 20 hit “Out of the Woods.” Available now.

NOT TO BE MISSED: Free the Nipple is part film, part empowerment mission, endorsed by Miley Cyrus and Lena Dunham. In the USA it is illegal in 35 states for women to be topless, including breastfeeding mothers. This blatant sexism can result in jail time and fines of $2500. Free the Nipple also explores these sexist and sometimes violent trends in the media. With Lina Esco, Lona Kirke. In theaters Dec.12. SHE - 10 - 12/14

in the news MIAMI-DADE COUNTY ADDS GENDER IDENTITY AND EXPRESSION TO HUMAN RIGHTS ORDINANCE, BECOMing the 28th FLORIDA MUNICIPALITY TO PROVIDE EQUAL PROTECTIONS On December 2, the Miami-Dade County Commission voted 8 - 3 to amend the existing Human Rights Ordinance to prohibit discrimination in housing, public accommodations and employment based on gender identity or gender expression. Sponsored by Commissioners Audrey M. Edmonson, Bruno A. Barreiro, Daniella Levine Cava, Sally A. Heyman, Barbara J. Jordan and Dennis C. Moss (who was unable to attend to vote), the amendment also received “yes” votes from Commissioners Jean Monestime, Rebeca Sosa and Xavier L. Suarez. Commissioners Esteban Bovo, Jr., Jose “Pepe” Diaz and Juan C. Zapata voted against it. “As Florida’s most populous county, it was critical that Miami-Dade join the 27 other Florida municipalities that already have these protections. With today’s victory, more than 50% of Floridians are protected from discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, giving a major boost to our ongoing efforts to pass these protections statewide,” said Stratton Pollitzer, Deputy Director of Equality Florida. “Now, all people who live or work in Miami-Dade County can continue to provide for their families without fear of losing their job or being denied housing.” According to respondents to the National Transgender Discrimination Survey, conducted by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and the National Center for Transgender Equality, the prevalence of suicide attempts among transgender individuals is 41 percent. This vastly exceeds the 4.6 percent of the overall US population and is also higher than the 1020 percent of LGBT adults who reported attempting suicide. 2015 to bring marriage equality to the whole state of florida! Denial clears the way for marriage for same-sex couples to begin at end of day on January 5th On Wednesday, December 3rd, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has denied the state’s motion for stay of a District Court ruling that overturned the state’s ban on marriage for same-sex couples. The stay is scheduled to expire at the end of the day on January 5th, enabling same-sex couples to apply for marriage licenses at that time. “We are thrilled that the 11th Circuit has denied the state’s request to delay marriages in Florida. Every day of delay is another day of harm experienced by thousands of loving and committed samesex couples in Florida. Now it’s time to break out the wedding bells,” said Nadine Smith, CEO of Equality Florida. “Florida is ready for the freedom to marry!” On August 21, US District Court Judge Robert Hinkle ruled in favor of the freedom to marry and respect for marriage legally per-

formed between same-sex couples in other states in these two consolidated federal marriage cases, Brenner v. Scott and Grimsley and Albu v. Scott. Federal Judge Hinkle set Jan. 5th as the date he would automatically lift the stay in the federal case in Florida. Once the stay is gone, even though the case has not had a final decision at press time, marriages would begin in Florida. He denied Bondi’s motion to extend the stay. The big surprise is that the 11th Circuit also denied Bondi’s request to extend the stay. She can ask the U.S. Supreme Court to extend the stay, but they have shown no willingness to stay other decisions. The only other way marriage is delayed in Florida is if the 11th circuit rules before Jan. 5th (highly unlikely) and rules against us. Otherwise, Florida gets marriage Jan. 5th.

P-TOWN a women’s place for all

seasons & all reasons!

Provincetown is world-renowned for celebrating diversity and welcoming, unbridled, free expression by all. It then should come as no surprise that Ptown, as many call it, celebrates the role of women in many special ways. Art lovers know Provincetown as America’s oldest continuous artist colony. Historians will note that the spot was the first stop by the Mayflower during the Pilgrims’ journey to the New World, and the place where the Mayflower Compact was inked. For travelers, it is the vacation destination named number two on Travel and Leisure’s list of quirkiest towns in America in 2014, in addition to many other top ratings. The LGBTQ community would point to Provincetown as America’s first destination for same-sex marriage and the culturally progressive spirit that comes with that title. Even CNN has jumped on the bandwagon this year, recently publishing “8 Ways to Love a Tiny Cape Cod

Oasis.” But Provincetown is perhaps most meaningful to women who live, play and work in a community where the gender-equity is woven into the spirit and leadership of Cape Cod’s most favorite place for visitors. Embedded in the history of Provincetown are the remarkable women with cultural, artistic, literary and modern family achievements. Take a look at the town’s calendar of events and you see no shortage of activities exclusively for women, some of which have been around for decades. In 1984, several entrepreneurial women innkeepers convened to discuss the summer vacation season and ways to bring women back during the fall season. This discussion blossomed into what was then called “Women’s Weekend” - a clambake on the beach each October. The innkeepers wrote letters to their women summer guests, inviting them back to enjoy Provincetown’s off-season while soaking in the picturesque surroundings, local entertainment and savoring a quintessential New England clambake. Each Columbus Day Weekend, the event adds to Ptown lore and Women’s Week finds resounding success today as one of the longest running lesbian events on record nationwide. Eventually, the women officially became known as the Women Innkeepers of Provincetown, inviting new women innkeepers to create a hospitality industry like no other, catering primarily to tastes of women by women. Over the past three decades, Women’s Week has exceeded all expectations. Special events during the week include a variety of comedians, performance artists, zany drag revues, jazz, blues and contemporary musicians that have delighted audiences of all types. Some of the performers include award-winning LGBTQ entertainers like Kate Clinton and Poppy Champlin, musicians including Janis Ian, and authors Marianne K. Martin, Lynn Ames and Georgia Beers. Provincetown has become a women’s destination for all seasons, where many choose to take in the beauty and solitude of winter days when hustle and bustle give way to a serenity hard to find anywhere else. In anticipation of summer’s arrival, memorable events begin to blossom, building anticipation each year for celebrations of women. May 15-17, 2015, marks the annual Single Women’s Weekend, where the stream of young women celebrating the end of another school year swells the ranks of nightspots, street scenes and beaches. Women of Color Weekend, June 4-7, 2015, offers the only singles gathering specifically for women of color. Rounding things out is the annual Girl Splash, which takes place each summer in late July, and gives women a chance to let their hair down and bask in the sun. More Information for these events can be found at www.provincetowntourismoffice.org. Anthony Fuccillo, Provincetown Director of Tourism, says, “Celebrating women comes naturally to us in Ptown. We like to look at events like Women’s Week as a collection of options women have to enjoy here, just condensed into seven days. Women interested in a Ptown experience during any time of the year will find options suited to their interests,” says Fuccillo. “Whether it be the art and performance scene, landscapes and beaches, the fine dining, beach outings or quaint community explorations, our progressive town will delight all tastes.”

Maybe you know her as a stand-up comic, maybe you know her as a jazz singer, maybe you know her from Broadway, or maybe you’ve just discovered her as Big Boo in Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black. Either way, with the success of OITNB, it’s time to share Lea Delaria with the rest of the entire world after thirty years of lesbians feeling that she was just ours. Well, butch up, ladies! We knew this day was coming. When you first read the script for Orange Is The New Black, what were your immediate thoughts?

Oh my God, I f*cking loved it! It was the first script in I don’t know how long that I didn’t have to wish was funny. I mean, granted, I only had one line in the pilot episode, but you get to read the whole thing, so I knew it was good. Plus, the actors hadn’t all been cast yet, so like Jason Biggs, Natasha Lyonne and Laura Prepon hadn’t been cast yet. Man, when they started pouring in these actors, I thought, “Oh f*ck yeah, this is going to be AH-MAZING!” And you have Jenji Kohan. Ya know? I mean, Jenji Kohan! So, yeah, we knew. We knew this was going to be special. Were you at all familiar with Jenji’s work, like Weeds?

(laughs) Oh Christ, honey! Are you kidding me? Hello! Weeds! I’m a daily pot smoker, girl! So, uh, yeah, very familiar! (laughs) Plus, listen, I love Mary Louise Parker! Remember Fried Green Tomatoes? Everyone wanted Mary Stuart Masterson, right? Not me. I wanted Mary Louise Parker! Love her! And we’re theatre girls, so I know her. We did New York public theatre together, so we go way back. But Weeds, oh my God, of course I loved it. But, to be honest, we all know Jenji from Six Feet Under, even before Weeds. Oh, yeah! I totally forgot about that! Jenji’s style of TV is something so unique I’d imagine anyone who is lucky enough to work with her must feel it immediately.

F*ck yeah, you do. Does it shock you how well-received the show is, even going into its 3rd season?

Seriously, who the F knows what’s going to happen going into it, right? No, no, no, wait, let me re-phrase that. We’re doing something so new in this age of digital TV, and it’s so unchartered that there is really no way of knowing how it’s going to be received, you know what I mean? But, I’m not sure “shocked” is the word, It’s more like, ummm, well, maybe shocked IS the word? (laughs) Listen, we were ready! We were ready to see how it was going to be received, and my God, it all happened so fast. I don’t know if shocked describes it, but one day I’m in the laundromat doing my laundry and the next day, and I mean the very next day, I can’t walk down the street without someone asking for a picture! It was literally that fast. That’s the other thing. I mean, nowadays, no one is without their phone in their SHE - 16 - 12/14

hand, camera ready, you know? Some people can’t handle it. They don’t like it, being photographed all the time. But, I’ll tell you what, I’m having the time of my life! (she laughs her big hearty laugh) When somebody asks me for a picture, I’m like “Sure thing! Take my picture!” I follow you on Instagram and Twitter (@ realleadelaria) and you share so much of your life with your fans. Is there ever a concern for over-sharing?

I don’t know what you mean. Professionally? Personally? Personally, because you Instagram everything, your vacations, your everyday life, whatever you’re experiencing at the moment, wherever you are, whoever you’re with. I mean, I love it, it’s awesome, but is there ever a concern about over doing it?

Oh noooo, I don’t have any issues with that. Listen, honey, I’ve been putting my personal life out there onstage for thirty years. I mean, that was my kind of stand up comedy. I wasn’t a comic that talked about airplane food and losing socks in the dryer, I talked about how I experienced life. I think that’s one of the things people liked about me and my style of comedy because I’m talking about sh*t that happens every day. So, no, I’ve been doing this for so long, I don’t really know any other way than to put it all out there. Me, my girlfriends, my life. Don’t get me wrong, some of the girlfriends have an issue with it, but hey, you know what you’re signing up for. (laughs) Ugh. So typical of relationships, though, isn’t it? It’s all fun and cute in the beginning stages, right? “Oh, how adorable- she forgets things!” and then down the line it becomes, “Why can’t she f*cking remember anything?!” (laughs) Same thing! Nailed it!

It’s true! You’ve been rubbing elbows with some pretty big show biz names lately. Do you, Lea, ever get star-struck by anyone?

Hmmm, that’s a good one. Well, yeah, when I

first met Lily Tomlin, but that was twenty years ago, but it’s not like it stops happening. It still does. In fact, I was so star-struck when I met Lily that I burst out in tears! Same thing happened years later, when I did On The Town on Broadway and Jon Hendricks came into my dressing room. I mean, I had been meeting all kinds of Broadway greats and they’re all immensely talented but Jon Hendricks, I mean, come on, the guy who invented “Vocalese”walks backstage to meet me, and I f*cking lost it! But, like, lately, I don’t know, it’s been kind of like a “turn around” time for me. Like, I went to the Emmys party recently. I walked in and the first person I see was Minnie Driver and she practically tackled me! Practically tackled me! Just to meet me and say hi! How crazy! I mean, did you ever think you’d be saying something like that?

Well, that’s what I mean. It’s crazy and I’m almost like, outside my body viewing all that’s happening, ya know? In some ways, it’s just hilarious! So, one of my best friends, Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell on ABC’s Modern Family) has been my best friend since we did On The Town on Broadway in 1997, so Jesse invites me to the set of Modern Family. I was so excited, but when I got there, they were more excited than I was! They were excited to meet

the world’s ideas about butches. That’s always been my job.”

me! That’s how crazy this is! (howls) It’s pure insanity! (laughs) Lena Dunham! On the red carpet at the Emmys, Lena Dunham stopped me and said “Oh my God, I have to get a picture with you!” and I’m like, “Let’s do it!” (laughs) It’s been hilarious and I’m loving it! I feel almost like it’s a sense of relief that the world finally gets to see the amazing Lea Delaria that we lesbians and Broadway fans have known about for years as we’ve followed your career!

Thanks! Ha, it’s crazy. I know. I’ve been working for so long, just plugging away and, wow, here we are! Ya know? Insanity. If you weren’t a performer, what other career do you think you’d have?

Oh, I was a carpenter by trade before this. So, my career path would have been something like that. Something really butch. Something really butch, right? Like a manager of a gas station, or doing yard work, or a security guard at Gay Pride Festivals! Or a sex worker because that’s all I’m really qualified for! (laughs) Do you feel any kind of pressure to represent the whole butch community? It sure is in the spotlight more than ever. It used to be a butch had one line in a dyke bar scene or they were the punch line to a lesbian joke in a popular TV show.

Quite honestly, I’ve always felt a responsibility. I mean, that’s exactly what my job has been for over thirty years. Basically, “Don’t judge a butch by its cover.” That’s all I’ve ever tried to do is increase the butch visibility and their acceptance, not just in the world, but in our own community because “butch” was always such a dirty little word. So, yeah, I’ve always felt a responsibility. And you know all that you mentioned, about how butches used to be portrayed and how the media is showing the changes now in butch roles, I think that falls squarely on the shoulders of Orange Is the New Black. The way the writers are writing for

SHE - 17 - 12/14

and building this character has everything to do with that. I feel incredibly proud of that. In fact, if anything, I feel more a responsibility towards the young butches—who direct message me every day, on a regular basis and share with me what they go through, or ask my advice. I try to be there for them. I say this to anyone, I am there. Sometimes it’s really hard, but I try to answer all my fans. I try to message them back and tweet back and stuff. I get stuff from all over the world, too. I get messages from butches in Indonesia who tell me that they could be murdered. You’d be shocked at some of the stuff I get. It’s frightening sh*t. So, yeah I do feel a great responsibility, especially to the younger butches out there because there are so few positive butch influences out there for them. That’s heavy duty. I just read an article somewhere saying that I was the most famous butch in the world right now, so if that’s the truth, then maybe we can take over the world. Maybe. Just maybe (laughs) So, to answer your question, I do feel a sense of responsibility. I always have and I wouldn’t ever call it a burden, but it is something I take very seriously. I feel like we’ve all together, the world, collectively experienced such profound losses lately, with the deaths of Robin Williams and Joan Rivers. I just talked about this with Mary Lambert in our October issue, too. I just wondered if, when you are in show business, does something like this cause a shift of some sort or make you re-assess things or make you more self-aware?

Well, for me personally, I think it’s about how well you know the person. If you’ve met them or if they have had an impact on you, you know? I knew Joan Rivers from way back. I loved Joan Rivers. I mean, she wasn’t a friend, but I had a great acquaintance with her. If Joan was in New York and I was working in New York, and I said this on my Instagram, too, even if it was the seediest, sh*ttiest little dive, Joan would be there, all dolled up, front row centre. I’d never know when she was coming, she would just be there. Even if it was a 1:00 am show, she would be there. She would always talk me up on her radio show and to anyone who would listen. So I loved her, probably for the way she loved me. The one thing I learned from her was to never pull your punches and always say what you’re thinking. I can remember knowing that about her as a teenager, watching her on the godd*mn Tonight Show. I think that’s why she liked my work, because she saw me doing exactly that, never pulling any punches and saying what was on my mind. So, I think when you know someone it impacts you differently. I mean, Elaine Stritch! When Elaine Stritch died, I cried. When they showed her with that funny line from 30 Rock in the “In Memoriam” piece at the Emmys, I teared

up again! It made me think about what I was doing with my career. Right now, I’m in a fabulous place with my career. I feel so strongly about not letting the success of this show change me and I’m grateful that it’s allowing me to continue on my path to change the world’s ideas about butches. That’s always been my job. do you ever look back at our LGBT community and think about the equality we’re beginning to experience and how far we’ve come? You’ve been such a trail blazer and played such a part in our forward movement. Is it overwhelming at all?

I don’t think I get overwhelmed. I mean, I know I’ve played a part in our movement, I know I’ve effected change. I did some firsts that needed to be done. But you know what? When I look back at my career, I get really tired! (laughs) But, seriously, people who knew me knew I was a comic, or they knew me as a jazz singer, or from Broadway. There was a very small and eclectic group that knew I really did it all. But, now I think they all know it from this show. I think some people would look at my resume over the past thirty years and go, “My God, this b*tch has done it all!” (laughs) I’ve just been so under the radar to most people, but when I look back at it, it just makes me so f*cking tired! But, listen I have to say in all seriousness, when I look back at everything I’ve ever done, the thing that makes me the most proud is that I did it all without ever being in the closet. I’ve never betrayed my butchness. That is such a huge, proud statement to be able to make.

It really is. Can you give us any little, teensy, tiny, crumb of a tidbit about what’s in store for Big Boo in Season 3?

Yeah, sure! Ready? Ok, I hear they’re going to make me straight! (Roars with laughter)

“...I know I’ve played a part in our movement,

I know I’ve effected change.

I did some firsts that needed to be done. But you know what? When I look back at my career, I get really tired!”

but can also let loose with me when the time is right. I am very outgoing and love adventure in every way, but when I’m serious, I’m serious. I need someone who can be both of those things with me. I’m also a hopeless romantic and I love affection, so someone who can embrace that side of a relationship is a must. i like to wear: Jean shorts, loose tank top and lace bra-let. My go-to outfit. My coming out was: I met my ex girlfriend the first day I visited Miami for Aqua Girl almost four years ago. A month later when I was still talking about this same girl, my mom asked if we were dating. I told her yes, and she said, “Okay then. I think the LGBT community needs: To be more accepting of the B in LGBT. If you were to become an activist in the LGBT community, which organization would you choose?:

Love Lies Bleeding: Memoirs of a Sexual Revolutionary by Janis Hetherington Janis Hetherington came to fame as the first lesbian in Britain to be artificially inseminated over four decades ago. She paved the way for the future of lesbian parenthood. She was also a madam who ran brothels during Britain’s swinging 60s and 70s. This lush, sexy memoir is honest, explicit, genuine and fantastic. Hetherington is utterly fearless and her life story reads like a breathtaking, award-winning film.

Flowers from Iraq: The Storyteller and the Healer, Book 1 by Sunny Alexander Flowers from Iraq is the first of Sunny Alexander’s two-book series about the impact of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell on soldier Kathleen Moore. Kathleen grows from a determined orphan to a closeted Army doctor serving in Iraq. The real battle begins when Kathleen trades military life for that of a small town doctor and falls for the uninhibited Claire, who’s not about to live her life in the closet. (The second book is Claire’s Song.) Wellplotted and carefully done, Flowers from Iraq is a must for anyone who served under DADT.

The Empath: The Above and Beyond Series, Book 1 by Jody Klaire Empath Aeron Lorelei’s had a rough decade. She’s been released from jail and returned to her hometown just in time to be a suspect in the abductions and violent murders of several young girls. It doesn’t help that, being an empath, she knows the feelings and secrets of those around her. Jody Klaire’s debut novel is an exhilarating rush, a cross between the best of X Files and Orange is the New Black. Fast-paced, sharp, and very, very smart, The Empath is the first in what promises to be a smash hit of a series.

scopes AQUARIUS JAN 21 - FEB 19 Finally, you have permission from the Universe to go out and play. As you celebrate within your own circle of friends and family, you have the opportunity to make new friends. Socializing rewards you for all the hard work you’ve been doing lately. As long as you don’t neglect either your health or your responsibilities, you’re good to go.

leo July 23 - aug 22 This promises to be the best time you’ve had in forever. However, there will be some stormy days amidst the sunshine of the season. Be extra careful with your health, watch your food and drink intake, as well as your financial output and above all remember, everything in moderation. Also, be extra careful around the house and when travelling accidents lurk, avoid them.

pisces feb 20 - mar 20 You have had your share of fiscal challenges this year and to some extent it has affected your self-esteem. Remember, your worth is not measured by your bank account. This month gives you the opportunity to put your professional house in order. Once you have done that the rest of your life will settle down.

virgo aug 23 - sept 23 Old issues may crop up, but old habits and responses don’t have to. Instead of spending all your time in introspection, use the time to bask in the loving glow of your family and your good mood. Focus on earning and saving, rather than spending and help others willingly. What you do and say now is the foundation for your future financial and emotional security.

aries mar 21 - apr 20 The Universe has been pushing you to make much needed changes. Shift your focus and consider that change is a good thing and will improve the quality of your life. In order to get the most from your efforts at self- analysis, you must also include the feelings of the significant others in your life. If you don’t, you may find yourself riding solo into an uncertain future.

libra sept 24 - oct 23 You are in your element, attending and hosting fabulous holiday parties. Being everyone’s best friend makes you in high demand, so choose your company wisely. The Universe will test your balance and your patience, as circumstances and other people’s bad moods, threaten your own good mood. Remember, only thing you can control is you.

taurus apr 21 - may 21 Even stubborn you has caught the ‘bug’ of positive change. Time to really look at how and why you’re doing what you’re doing. Your home and your heart will be filled with all the love that you could ever want. Speaking of presents, please keep your financial situation in mind when gifting. Use your creativity, be resourceful and have a good time with gift giving.

scorpio oct 24 - nov 22 The movement of the planets have removed the obstacles to financial success and stability. Make the most of what you have and live within your means. Turn stressful situations into healing opportunities, allow others their opinions and walk away from a fight. Remember, tis the season to be jolly, so spread good wishes and enjoy.

gemini may 22 - june 21 Your gift of gab is enhanced by the emotions swirling around you and you express yourself with passion and sincerity. Don’t let your batteries run down too much. Spend your energy, like your money, wisely and you will enjoy an increase in both. Use your imagination and create special gifts for your loved ones, such as writing poetry instead of buying a book of poems.

sagittarius nov 23 - dec 21 You may feel like the weight of the world is off your shoulders. It’s just in time, too because here come lots of opportunities to live your dreams. The time for thinking is past. Now is the time for implementing, but do have a realistic budget and a do-able action plan. Be resourceful and creative with your gifting. Your gift this year is freedom

cancer June 22 - july 22 Remember, it isn’t what you give or how much it cost, but it’s the quality of the intent. Stay within your means. Common sense is also called for when making the holiday party rounds. There will be other challenges as well, as the Universe tests your growth and faith with past issues arising. Your choices can either bring stress or resolution or a new beginning. .

capricorn dec 22 - jan 20 The Universe is urging you to take some much needed down time from planning. You’re now feeling the pull to retreat into your cave to reflect upon your current situation, as well as all the ways that you can improve it. No worries, you’ll surface long enough to share the holiday spirit with loved ones. Expect challenges to your desire for security.
