How to use this Guidebook 1. Choose Your Favorites

Take some time to browse through the guidebook and make note of those homes you would like to visit. Each home in the Parade of Homes has been given a number which corresponds with its placement on the centerfold map. This system will make it easier for you to locate homes you wish to visit. You will also find a write-up on each home and easy to follow directions to each home. TM

2. Map Out Your Tour

Once you have made your selections, turn to the centerfold map. The numbers correspond with each entry write-up in the guidebook. Additionally, all entries have been color coded on the map according to price range to enable you to see prices at a glance. Whether you want to live in a particular area of the county or have a specific price range in mind, the map will help you to key in on the homes you wish to visit.

3. Tour The Homes

Follow the directions provided in the write-up to visit any or all of the homes. There are 69 new homes and 2 remodeled homes to choose from! The 2015 Parade of Homes begins the weekend of Saturday, Sunday and Monday, October 10, 11 and 12, and will continue the following weekend, Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18. The homes are open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day. TM

estled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains is the 2015 Showcase Home for the Parade of Homes . “The Edward,” built by Mark Harris Homes, is located at McMullen Cove on a one-acre home site. Houses in the Hampton Cove area community start in the $300,000’s. “This is the most energy efficient Showcase Home ever built,” said Harris. “This is mainly due to the mechanical systems provided by All Weather Heating and Air Conditioning, and systems used to reduce air infiltration,” said the Huntsville homebuilder. Family-owned business All Weather has been serving the Huntsville/

Madison County area since 1992. The home features a brick and stone exterior, classic double doors and a two-story foyer. It offers a formal dining room, study, great room, gourmet kitchen with breakfast area, guest bedroom and secluded master suite. The back veranda will allow time for relaxation in front of a stacked stone gas fireplace while cooking in the outdoor kitchen. “This year rather than having one furniture company decorating, we have seven,” says Harris. “We expect to see many new ideas in decorating.” This year’s Parade of Homes™ features 69 new homes plus two remodeled homes, all with the latest in construction, technology, colors and décor.


“As a homebuilder, we know the kitchen and master bath are big selling features,” Harris says. “Attendees will be wowed by the Showcase Home’s kitchen and bathroom features.” The kitchen offers Laredo five-inch engineered hardwood floors, Thermador stainless steel appliances including six-burner range, dishwasher and built-in microwave. Other kitchen features include Jordanstyle cabinetry painted alpine with smoke glazing, colonial white granite countertops, tiled backsplash, under mount cabinet lighting, single bowl hammered nickel farm sink, and Sherwin Williams wall and trim colors. The bathrooms offer tile flooring, Jordan-style cabinets, granite countertops, Delta nickel faucets, Sherwin Williams wall and trim colors. The master bathroom features an oversized tile shower with rain and transitional slide-bar handheld showerheads, an Optik freestanding white tub and Kohler Archer white under mount sinks. Other features include a three-car garage, bonus/media room, nine-foot ceiling height on main level, eight-foot ceiling height on upper level, crown molding, baseboards, brushed nickel door hinges and hardware, ADS security system, structured wire for cable, phone and security, insulation, sealed ductwork, tankless Rinnai water heater, gutters and downspouts, termite treatment, custom-designed landscaping, irrigation system, sodded Zoysia yard, and Electrolux central vacuum system. “The Showcase Home features the latest in colors, light fixtures and other decorating trends,” says Harris.

“Attendees will be wowed by the Showcase Home’s kitchen and bathroom features.”
