About My work has an expressionist-symbolist style and I use mythologies from eastern and western civilizations. Syncretism is the combination or fusion of different beliefs, philosophies, mythologies or religions, emphasizing an underlying unity that allows an inclusive approach to other faiths. Syncretism commonly has expressions in art and culture that can join together. I use Syncretism to develop patterns that reveal how our current culture opens itself into its different art’s functions to reflect our way of living, hopes and mistakes.

Nan Brall nlbny@aol.com instagram.com/nanbrall
About Nan Brall was born in 1950 in New York City. Its abundance of world-renowned museums and galleries was an early influence on her engagement in the art world, and their accessibility allowed Nan to viscerally connect with the city’s creative life. After a move to New England in 1985, Nan was fortunate to be enrolled at the Silvermine School of Art when they initiated their first classes in heavy steel sculpting. It was here that she began, for several years, a studied examination of weight, form, and construction. Sometime later a health diagnosis, which covered almost a decade, would demand a different life and art trajectory. Paper became a new found medium, with its fluidity allowing for the continuing exploration into design without the confines of weight.

Massimiliano Esposito La Nouvelle NormalitĂŠ | 2020 Acrylic on Hardboard | 120 x 80 cm $2,000
France
Massimiliano Esposito maxyoga69@gmail.com maxartparis.wixsite.com/maximilian
About Maximilian (Massimiliano Esposito) was born in Milan, Italy, on December 17, 1969. He started painting as a child and despite his art school training, he has maintained an instinctive approach to his work, letting his subconscious dictate his subject matter. The recurring figure of a preadolescent child, neither male nor female, lends a coherence to this free-form universe. Since moving to Paris, France, in 2012, his work has focused on that unripe phase of human existence when gender is still undefined and sexuality has yet to be expressed. The melancholy and reflective characters he portrays are experiencing the often difficult and painful transition from childhood games and innocence to the first upsets of adolescence and adulthood.

1st Place Donna Garcia Swarm | 2017 Archival Pigment Photographic Print | 35 x 2 x 27 in NFS
Georgia United States of America
Donna Garcia donna@donnagarcia.com donnagarcia.com
About Donna Garcia is lens-based artist whose work illustrates a semiotic dislocation that has been organically reconstructed in a way that gives her subjects a voice in the present moment; something they did not have in the past. Her images rise above what they actually are and become empathic recreations in a fine art narrative. She often utilizes self-portraiture with motion to provide an indication of the other in her work; a surplus threat to the perpetuity of our modern day grand narratives in defining elements like gender and race. She has an MFA in Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design. Her work has been exhibited and published internationally and she is a 2019 nominee of reGENERATION 4: The Challenges of Photography and the Museum of Tomorrow, Emerging Artists to Watch.
Curator Review Swarm Suspended in movement within the constraints of the image itself, ’Swarm’ reveals the raw inner qualities of its subject. The soft, subdued edges and color of the figure, contrasts against the assertively abstract and specious, tentacle-like filaments, giving the work a sense of multi-layered meaning. This singular piece communicates in a brilliantly distilled manner and boldly configures the internal, externally. -E.E. Jacks

Igor Grechanyk Pilgrim | 2020 Bronze Sculpture | 17.3 x 6.3 x 25 in POR

Igor Grechanyk igor@grechanyk.com grechanyk.com
About Igor Grechanyk has been passionate about art and drawing from early childhood. He attended the Art School, and the State Art Institute in Kiev, graduating in 1984. Grechanyk’s genius lies in his ability to give form to the abstruse. His works seek to map the collective unconscious, drawing inspiration from esoteric doctrines and ancient mythology. The artist brings forth inner, mystical elements of his creatures. His multifaceted images demonstrate a profound level of artistic skill. Igor Grechanyk has exhibited worldwide and has sculpted large, public monuments commissioned in Ukraine and abroad. He is the recipient of numerous Ukrainian and international awards. Recent works include a portfolio of 2D digital art, often based on his sculpture images.
Curator Review Pilgrim A beautiful yet solemn spatial experience, can be felt in the dark, curved edges and brooding tones of this ruminative sculpture by artist Igor Grechanyk. Grechanyk’s eloquent and melancholy portrayal of a wanderer atop an emaciated steed, elucidates on his defining title and one can not help but be palpably connected to this interpretive circumstance. This moving work manifests the personal reflections of the artist and adeptly leads the viewer into introspection. - E.E. Jacks

Corrie Gregory corrie.gregory@gmail.com corriegregory.com
About Corrie Gregory’s work lives on the border between dreams and nightmares, where chance and control collide. She explores Jungian themes from the deep preconscious, themes that have appeared in fables around the world for hundreds of years and which continue to resonate today. Her animals take on human characteristics and her humans, children all, exhibit animal parts, drawing a mystical connection between us and our animal nature. The characters in Gregory’s work sprout roots, float in the air, or do both. Her creatures are innocent and perplexed, sly and savvy, or passive and subject to the whims of nature, but never victims of their fate. Rebecca Katz rebecca@rebeccakatz.com rebeccakatzart.com
About I’m enamored with color, texture, atmosphere, depth and the interplay of light. Eyes wide open, I take what I see and explore it in an ever-changing process of visual notation. It’s absolutely my way of staying completely present in the world. I work in acrylic and graphite, using many layers of glazes to achieve the luminosity of the atmospheric quality in my work. My paintings are asking viewers to step into a world of possibility, mystery, magic and atmosphere and to be transported through color and light and texture.
Curator Review Moondance There is most certainly a mesmeric quality to the evocative work of artist Rebecca Katz. Her ability to transport the viewer into her surreal and ethereal articulation of nature, is truly masterful. Katz goes above and beyond the texture and tint to create harmony in her work and wondrously conveys light and atmosphere in a meditative manner. Katz’s tranquil and tonal skyscape, brilliantly displays the pure poetry of her artistry. -E.E. Jacks

About When I paint I let my feelings guide me while I play with color, letting the energy flow and the painting tell me what it wants to be. In my series of cities the real subject is the people, very loosely represented, but the real creators of the place with their energy and movement. In 2020, while our cities were empty, I stayed at home and went looking through my memories for that feeling of joy, that vibration‌ What came to me were these precious childhood memories‌ at the same time, so strong and so faded away. What lasts is exactly what matters to me. That feeling, that energy you feel when you are with someone without the details and diversions our eyes can see.

About Most biographies include where one has studied, what shows they have participated in, special recognitions and accolades. My own biography has been full of the above mentioned references; however, there comes a time in one’s life when all this seems not so important when one considers where one is right now. Eleanor Roosevelt said, “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift; that’s why they call it the present.” For, certainly, all my past experiences as an artist, partner, mother and grandmother have made me the artist I am now.

Petra Schott Honouring the Waters II | 2020 Oil and Oil Sticks on Canvas | 100 x 100 x 4 cm 1,300€
Hesse Germany
Petra Schott petra.schott@gmx.net petra-schott.de
About My works revolves around visions, ideas and emotions in past and presence in a figurative-abstract way. The human figure or landscapes often are my transmitting medium which I use in an abstract manner. In my pictorial presentation I search for freedom, lightness, liveliness and intensity. I work with strong oil colours applied layer by layer. I love the texture of oil and the depth of the space created. I like working with lines, sometimes condensed into drawings or writing, used as a sort of compass and structuring element. In the works submitted here I work with themes around the subject of water. I show the power and liveliness of water, its importance for our life and its ever refreshing nature.
Curator Review Honouring the Waters II The blurred edges and almost turbulent aspect of this piece, calls to mind a rousing sea. Artist Petra Schott has thoughtfully composed a beautifully compelling work in masses of pastel color and neon sparks. Her painterly flourishes and stimulating gradients are deeply resonant and diffuse all tension. Schott’s energetic and enigmatic paintings, give the feeling of encompassing some flourishing truth. -E.E. Jacks

With formal training in calligraphy, graphic design, and color work; more than two decades as a researcher, teacher, and writer in cultural analysis in the vein of the Birmingham and Frankfurt Schools; and a decade and a half as a commercial artist and designer for multiple winery clients; he brings his influences of Pop art, Tattoo flash and lining techniques, and Abstract Surrealism and Expressionism to the extreme edge where graphic design and calligraphy meet the Platonic theory of forms. The resulting metallic inks and acrylics on canvas delight and perplex, moving between the worlds of solidity and abstraction.
Curator Review #MA141 Silent Scream from the Quarantine Days I (It Is What Is Is) This unusual and visually emphatic work by artist Josh Stein, explores societal isolation in a dynamic and captivating manner. Stein’s expressive approach, dauntlessly interprets his surreal reality in vibrant colors and loose contrasting strokes. Honorable Mention Nina Zdanovic Quarantine Diaries: Brewing Coffee | 2020 Oil on Wood Panel | 40 x 40 cm POR
Vilnius Lithuania
Nina Zdanovic ninazdanovicart@gmail.com ninazdanovic.com
About My name is Nina Zdanovic, originally from Vilnius, and currently based in Tokyo. I do figurative paintings and abstract ink drawings. I believe that humans don’t live in an objective world. The reality that surrounds us always reflects what we are going through. In my work, I explore how our memories, thoughts, and experiences affect how we perceive reality. I am searching for the intersection between the real and mystical, between the inner and the outer worlds. I attempt to make my artwork look as if it is a snapshot of a mundane real-world setting, but some of the fragments are magical, absurd, or simply random. These odd elements infused with mythological or allegorical meanings are projections of our psyche and are meant to draw attention to the mismatch between our inner perceptions.
Curator Review Quarantine Diaries: Brewing Coffee A masked and gloved figure stands by a stove in a plain interior, giving no distractions, allowing the viewer to focus on the gaze. This solemn and simplified impressionistic work by artist Nina Zdanovic, is both stirring and straightforward. Zdanovic’s beautiful ability to portray and bring to life a mundane moment of reality, is absolutely exceptional. -E.E. Jacks
