Dear Friends, It is a priviledge to be able to share some thoughts with you during such an exciting time in the history of our school. Your support has been the catalyst for a period of unprecendented innovation and growth at Sacred Heart. This fall students returned to school to find the first phase of our $1.5 million high school science wing renovation complete, the school’s observatory back online, and new science and engineering-based club offerings like robotics and astronomy. At the elementary school they are using new FOSS (Full Option Science System) kits, and the ECC is enjoying new SMARTBoards in every room! We are committed to providing our students with a top-tier learning environment and the faculty and resources to ensure that they’re engaged and excited in the classroom. All of the proceeds from the Gala were in support of our S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) initiative. To see the impact of this generosity, just visit our campus–the changes are visible: In our brand new High School Science and Innovation Center students are enjoying world-class biology, earth, physical science, and physics labs, a fully functional greenhouse, and state-of-the-art prep rooms and common areas. At the Elementary School we’re introducing FOSS (Full Option Science System) Kits enhancing the science experience for younger students by engaging them in ‘hands-on learning’ and interactive labs. Our musical horizons are expanding as well, with a new piano keyboard lab, glockenspiels at the ECC, and an instructional band program during the school day at the Elementary level. 9
