Sacred Heart Early Childhood Center

Designed specifically for 3 to 5 year-olds Built in 2007, our Early Childhood Center provides the ideal environment for the development and growth of children in preschool to kindergarten. Set on Sacred Heart’s beautiful 120-acre campus, the Center provides a dedicated space for our youngest students. Inside, our children learn and explore in classrooms constructed especially with them in mind. Outside, the expansive play area offers the perfect setting for adventures, exercise, and fun.

Laying the foundation for success For more than 60 years, Sacred Heart Elementary School has been a leader in Catholic education. Our unique, coordinated curriculum and one-school community allows for a small school feel while offering “big school” resources and activities. Curriculum

Early Childhood Center •

The Early Childhood Center curriculum is designed to promote academic readiness, faith formation, and key areas of development (social, emotional, language, cognitive, physical).

Teachers work to foster positive self-esteem, self-confidence, cooperation, and care and respect for others.

Elementary School •

The Elementary School uses a diverse and interdisciplinary approach combining traditional and contemporary methods to best meet individual learning needs.

The core curriculum consists of reading, religion, math, English/Language Arts, science, and social studies.

Differentiated reading and math instruction ensures that each student receives the optimum educational experience by placing them in the group that best fits their individual learning style.

Most of our student textbooks include online resources that are used to enhance and supplement programs.

Technology is fully integrated at both the Early Childhood Center and Elementary School and is used to enhance instruction and engage students. Students at both schools have access to iPads and at the Elementary School each classroom is equipped with a SMART Board. Teachers at the Early Childhood Center have access to mobile SMART Boards for easy integration into classroom activities. The Elementary School has a certified “Common Sense Educator” on staff who teaches digital citizenship and responsibility as well as digital research and technology skills. Teachers have access to Google Apps for Education allowing increased communication and instruction capabilities.


Activities

Beyond the Classroom Students at both the Early Childhood Center and the Elementary School have the opportunity to participate in a variety of extra-curricular clubs and activities. Experiential Learning

Hands-on Learning Students benefit from a variety of field trips and interactive learning experiences. History is brought to life through visits to historical sites such as the Mayflower and Plimoth Plantation. Trips to places like Bog Hollow introduce children to agriculture and natural resources. Composting and recycling programs show the importance of sustainability and protecting our planet. Visits from local fire and police departments teach important lessons about safety and protecting ourselves. Our location is ideal for taking advantage of the unique learning opportunities found from Boston to Cape Cod.

Kindergarten and Elementary Tuition and fees are consistent from kindergarten through grade 6. Tuition is $7,650 per year and fees are $400 per child. • $50 registration fee and a $500 deposit (non-refundable) are due with the enrollment form. *Books and uniforms are purchased separately. *Bus transportation is available and fees vary based on the town.


Financial Aid

Offering Financial Aid from Preschool through Grade 12 Sacred Heart Elementary School and Early Childhood Center offers need-based financial aid grants using the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment online service to determine the extent of assistance a family needs. Families may apply for financial aid by submitting an application online. Visit the “tuition and financial aid” page under Admissions at sacredheartkingston.com There is a $30 fee to submit a financial aid application to FACTS. Financial aid awards are based on a family’s demonstrated financial need as determined by FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment service. The Financial Aid Committee at Sacred Heart School will make the final determination on aid grants based on our available resources. Financial aid is awarded for one academic year.
