JOB DESCRIPTION     

The intern will be a mentor and facilitator for the projects participants. The intern will also give lectures about social entrepreneur, saving, investment, risk management and business plan to the students. The intern will prepare the session for the students regarding social entrepreneurship and business plan issue. The intern may use the good case practice and current condition from their country. The intern will organize learning circles and group discussions with English as medium of instruction to encourage students improve their soft skill and their entrepreneurial competencies. Preparing content for workshops and events based on entrepreneurship field and run the events. Together with team the intern will assess the performance of the project and write a detailed report at the end of the project.

Intern will be required to showcase his/her culture to the children and teach about their lifestyle To collect supplementary information from the children and parents in order to be enrolled into the MILE CHILD Foundation under privileged children support scheme Program. Reach outs to disadvantaged children families in our community of operation as to make connection reference to MILE CHILD Foundation support resources. Developing fundraising strategy and setting priorities, goals and budgets; researching and identifying potential donors, cultivating potential donors and communicating with current donors; and writing proposal to obtain grants and preparing presentations to deliver to potential donors and key stakeholders. Construction at the children's center for improvement. (building, painting, roofing, digging) The intern is given the freedom to innovate and implement new and effective techniques which can aid the children to understand their subjects like drawing, writing and many more. The intern is responsible for documenting the changes/improvements observed in the kids and teachers, and prepares a report for the same if required.

HAKUNA MATATA “Giving them a chance to dream” This is a child based project aimed at helping the disadvantaged, orphans and the neglected children in the communities of Uganda to have a right to education like any other child in the country. JOB DESCRIPTION  The intern will be required in sensitization on environmental conservation in the surrounding communities.  Presentations to community leaders about the environment and the benefits of conserving it.  Planting of trees in several areas.  Intern is required to help in project management and administrative work, finding partner companies to help in the project  Research, plan, design and prepare workshop, learning activities, campaigns, game set to promote the issues of Environmental conservation in high schools and the surrounding communities. Involve students during the training in the making of a match in town to sensitize residents about the project, eco-friendly practices and environmental conservation. Engage the children in expressing their ideas.  Mobilize the villagers to come for the Eco-Training as well as for the demonstrations (energy saving cook stoves and biogas construction) that are going to take place in the Model Village.  Manage the fundraising activities of the organisation, meet government, NGO, Corporate officials in order to promote the organization activities and initiatives.  Organize a seed or seedling collection campaign in schools and surrounding villages, so as to be used in the tree planting campaign.  Take part in a recycled art workshop at the Weaver Bird community promoting recycling activities and better waste management in the village.  Organize sport tournaments in Masaka town involving the community, students, volunteers from other organizations as well as partners to fundraise for biogas construction and briquettes machine maker.

ECO VILLAGE This is an environment conservation project which entails teaching and educating communities on preserving and protecting mother nature. It focuses on the use of renewable energy and afforestation. Change the way you travel and change the world.

Researching vocational training programs in Uganda and other countries to put together a strategic plan for implementing our vision for a vocational program integrated with academic institutions. Identify resources, partnerships, grants, in-kind donations etc. to support implementation of projects.

Monitoring and evaluation of current vocational and ICT skills programs such as tailoring, creative arts and crafts center, and agriculture among others.

Identifying sources of in-kind donations of tools AND computers accessories needed for various ICT training programs such as mechanics, carpentry, electrical installation, solars, water pumps, computers, projectors, laptops, screens, internet devices etc. Researching sources of funding for vocational and ICT training in schools and community training programs, Researching and recruiting volunteer vocational instructors and ICT teachers in developed countries to developing countries.

NEDEA UGANDA Is an NGO that was started with the aim of helping the orphans, disadvantaged, the needy and the single parent children that can not take care of them financially in terms of education. The project aims at providing decent education to children in the community and food in their bellies. AFRICA SUSTAINABLE TOURISM “Change the Way You Travel, and Help Change the World” ASTCF is a civil society organization (Non-Governmental Organization –NGO) that has been established with diverse and holistic approach to promote innovative sustainable tourism practices that are geared to alleviate poverty, empower local communities, fight gender inequality, encourage conservation of cultural and natural heritage and foster sustainable development through tourism.

JOB DESCRIPTION • The intern will be given a chance to work in any of the different programs of the project listed below: • Health program: intern will help in the fields of aids prevention and control, sanitation and hygiene seminars, hospital and clinic support, health education and medical outreach. • Entrepreneurship: intern will help in empowering women and the girl child on entrepreneurship, business training and consultation, village savings and loan programs. • AGRO TOURISM: Agro tourism is increasingly gaining ground as an alternative source of income for rural communities, at the same time protecting the environmental resources. We all know that tourism is well recognized as an engine of economic growth. It has great capacity to generate employment and also offer alternative sources of income to rural communities. The concept of traditional tourism is however changing. Training Of Rural Women Uganda (TORUWU) PROJECT THE TORUWU PROJECT is an NGO that aims at changing the lives of young people and women in the rural area of kikajjo in Uganda through entrepreneurship, education and women empowerment. In Uganda the population is made up of mostly young people and through this project we aim helping the youth and the women in the community.

The organization has a brass band so it is ideal that the intern skills in this field. Over seeing the Microfinance project. TORUWU runs a community managed Microfinance and so the intern will be responsible for managing it. TORUWU runs an initiative known as "The Revolving Fund in Kind". The intern will be responsible for advising the community on the various ways Of managing this Fund. Work with TORUWU to come up within innovative ideas in relation to Income Generating ideas. BALUNYWA FOUNDATION The Balunywa Foundation was started as a forum for career guidance by a group of young people. The foundation has expanded its remit (scope of work) to focus on vulnerable people in society. The foundation now focuses on improving the welfare for people through training, career guidance and advisory services. Particularly for women children and youth. The Foundation is based in the Eastern region district of Iganga, in a small village called Kasolo.

is a community based project founded in 1987 after the Bush war (1981-1986) by a group of people in the area of Mmanze. The social infrastructures and agricultural sectors were left devastated by the Bush war, So the Mmanze community organized themselves to overcome challenges through Self-help initiatives. Today its focusing on sustainable community based projects for community empowerment, education, health care, Good security and grassroots development envisioning empowerment of rural communities to improve their standards & conditions of living. YES- YOUTH ENTREPRENEURS SUMMIT The Youth Entrepreneurs Summit (YES!) is a unique 8 weeks’ project run by AIESEC in MUBS for youth in slums centered on innovation and entrepreneurship

and eradication of poverty. YES! features interactive workshops, engaging speakers delivered by both local and international volunteers aimed at coming up with lasting entrepreneurial solutions to the challenges faced in the slums in Kampala. This combination of activities helps youth (students and recent graduates) and also youth in slums to develop new skills while also energizing their

MUSAWO- (UGANDA MEDICINE PROJECT) Ranked as one of the countries with the poorest healthcare systems, Uganda has a disturbing ratio of nurse to patient ratio of 1: 11,000. This is even made worse in the rural areas that receive the least health care. MUSAWO, loosely translated as ‘Doctor or Nursing Officer’, is a project run by AIESEC in MUBS that aims at bridging this gap in the rural areas of the country as well as improving the health of communities there. It also aims to provide medical students with the opportunity to experience healthcare in Uganda. HAPPY WATOTO Craft making with the children's parents to enable them raise fees for their children. The intern will promote reading culture among the children i.e reading story books and using other reading materials, but he/she will be under surveillance of school teachers throughout the internship. Carry out research to formulate a small group of parents in the community. The intern shall take active part in initiating and organizing various extra-curricular activities for the children of a class such as Music, Dances and Playing games that are appropriate for the children of age 2-6. Intern is given the freedom to innovate and implement new and effective techniques which can aid the children to understand their subjects drawing, writing and many more.
