Let’s Salute Our Veterans! Temecula to Host Annual Patriotic Salute to Veterans The City of Temecula proudly presents the annual Patriotic Salute to Veterans on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 6:00 pm at the Temecula Civic Center (41000 Main Street). The community is invited to attend as we honor all service members at this free Veterans Day concert. A free boxed meal will be served from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm in Town Square Park to the first 300 patrons in line. Please join us as we honor and thank our veterans for their selfless service. The event will feature remarks by City dignitaries, the presentation of military banners to recognize active military personnel from the City’s Military Banner Program, recognition of the Path of Honor Paver Program, and a live orchestra performance. Bring your entire family, your friends, lawn chairs, and warm blankets to enjoy a wonderful evening under the stars. The highlight of this Veterans Day celebration is the 90-minute concert presented by the Temecula Valley Symphony conducted by the symphony’s Conductor, Zun-Hin Woo. Veterans Day Ceremony Will Honor Military Service and Sacrifice Military veterans will be honored for their service on Thursday, November 11, at the City of Menifee’s annual Veterans Day Celebration, which will feature a flyover, guest speakers, art contest displays, and activities for all ages. The free event starts at 10 a.m. at the Menifee Veterans Memorial at Wheatfield Park, 30627 Menifee Road. New to this year’s ceremony is the Veterans Day art and essay contest for elementary through high school students, with the theme “Honoring All Who Served.” Students may submit their artwork or essays online at www.cityofmenifee.us/specialevents by 5 p.m. on November 5. “In Their Own Words” A Stirring Veteran’s Day Tribute Army Veteran Bonnie Martland will honor veterans of U.S. wars and conflicts from the Revolutionary War through the present, bringing to life their own words in letters they wrote, and incorporating photographs and music popular at the time. The Friends of the Murrieta Library invite you to join them for this timely program at 10:00am on Tuesday, November 9th in the Community Room of the Murrieta Library, 8 Town Square, on Adams between Juniper and Kalmia MS Martland comes from a family whose members have served "in nearly all conflicts from the Revolutionary War to the present. She comments, “Though I did but very little myself, I know that freedom is not free. Many families like mine have a tradition of serving, and Veteran's Day is to honor their service." After this moving program, you may also wish to visit the 13th Annual Murrieta Field of Honor, displaying over 2000 flags in Town Square Park, right behind the library.
