BEFORE YOU START
Here are a few things you’ll need to keep handy. We recomend looking in a mirror will help you with proper placement of your trays.

Remove Your Trays :
Set Out The Putty :
Brush And Floss :
Make sure the tray fits your jaw size by putting one of the trays in your mouth and making sure it covers all your teeth. If your wisdom teeth are not covered, it’s not an issue. If it doesn’t fit get in touch with us and we’ll send you a bigger set right away.
Remove the putty from it’s container and leave it out at room temprature for 1 hour.
Clean teeth give the best impressions.
Clean Your hands :
Set a Timer :
Grab a towel :
Wash your hands with soap and warm water before putting on your gloves.
Keep a timer handy to keep track of how long you have had your impressions in your mouth.
You may drool when you remove your impression trays so it may be wise to keep a towel on stand by.

HOW MANY IMPRESSIONS?
We need 2 but we want 4. We need only two impressions to create your aligners but we’ve included enough kit here to make 4. The second set is there just incase you have any issues on your first attempt.
That being said, please send us all 4 impressions.

First impressions really matter. Second impressions in the same tray spoil the soup. Make sure you don’t bite the trey when it is in your mouth and that you hold it in place with your fingers.
This happens when some parts of your jow are further submerged than others. Please ensure that all your teeth are fully submerged.
This happens when the teeth are not fully submurged in the mould. Your gumline is very important so please press the tray lightly, till you feel your teeth are fully submerged.
This happens when the putty is not mixed corrctly. Your putty should be a single solight light blue colour with no other colour patches.

HOW TO MAKE THE BEST IMPRESSIONS
07 Your putty will start to harden 90 seconds from when you start mixing, so be quick and keep everything ready.
Making a good impressions is easy. There are two quick steps that you must repeat 4 times (twice for the upper jaw and twice for the lower jaw. Please read both steps before starting.

KEEP IN MIND : You have 90 seconds from when you mix the putty to when the impression sets. So, please make one mould at a time!

Mix And Remix
Roll Into a Log
Place in a Tray
Mix the 1 tub of blue putty with 1 tub of grey putty by streaching and folding, untill you have a light blue ball. Make sure your ball is one solid colour and doesnt have any patches of bright blue or grey.
Roll the mixed putty into a log by holding the ball between your hands and moving them back and forth. Be careful not to apply too much pressure otherwise you might flatten.
Place the roll into the tray, ensuring that the roll fills the entire tray. Don’t apply any pressure to push the putty in.

STEP 2 : IMPRESSION

The first impression you make will be that of your lower teeth. These are generally easier to impress than your top teeth. Remembe to gently press down the tray with your fingers, till you meet some resistance. This is your teeth touching the bottom of the impression tray. Make sure not to bite as this can ruin your impression. Keep the tray in your mouth for 2 minutes and 30 seconds before gently prying it out. Lift straight up. It’s ok to swallow any excess saliva. You may drool so it’s wise to keep a towel near by.
Each impression takes approximately 2 minutes to harden. Use the handle to gently remove the tray from your teeth.
By now you should me pretty good at making a good impression. Just repeat step one to make a new mould and take an impression of your top teeth. You should make two top impressions. Before starting with the second impression, compare your impression with good and bad impressions on page X.

It is important not to bite the impression tray. Press the impression tray down gently till resistance is met. You should make two bottom impressions. Before starting with the second impression, compare your impression with good and bad impressions on page X.

After you’re done taking your impressions, grab the smile streacher from the bottom of your box. Get ready to take some really strange photos.

How? The “U” should point downwards. Insert the larger fins in your mouth so that they are clasping your cheeks. Now smile wide and take following 3 photos.

UPLOAD YOUR PHOTOS Log-in in to Dentalign.com to upload your photos. Your username is your email address and your password has been emailed to you.

WHAT NEXT?
RETURN YOUR IMPRESSIONS? Once you’ve uploaded your photos, you’ll see a “Return My Impressions” button. Press this button when you’re ready. A courier will contact you to book a collection within 2 working days.
Please put your impressions back into the tray holder cut outs in your box. When you’re ready, log in to Dentalign.com and press the return kit button. One our team members will get in touch to book a courier pick up.
What If I Think The Impressions Are Not Good?
If the problem is with 1 set of impressions then no worries, send them all to us anyway. If the problem is with both sets of impression, get in touch with us and we will send you a new impression kit for free.
What If I Send My Impressions And Then There Is A Problem?
We will get in touch with you if there are any problems with your impressions. If you need to re-do them, we will send you a new kit for free.
How Long Will It Take?
The impressions will take around 30 minutes to complete. Your impressions should be collected within 2 working days of your booking. Your smile preview should be ready within 2 weeks from the time we receive your impressinons. Your aligners should be with you within 2 weeks from when you place your order for aligners.
What If I Am Having Trouble Uploading My Photos?
You can also email your photos to photos@dentalign.com or send them to us by WhatsApp on +971 55 227 4011. Be sure to quote your Case Number when sending your photos. You can find this by logging in to Dentalign.com.
I’ve Sent My Impressions. What Next?
Within 2 week, you will be able to see the details of your case and your smile preview by logging in to dentalign.com. Your doctor will get in touch you by email or phone to discuss the details of your case. You can then order your aligners when you are ready.
