Next issue’s poll question How long does it usually take you to get into a serious Relationship with someone? Less than a month Three months Six months or more Dear readers, I hope you enjoyed your summer months. Now that the Fall season is upon us, I hope you are enjoying it and are getting ready for the new year. I cannot believe how quickly the first year of this decade has gone (I’m sure I’ll be using the same sentence in 2020). This current issue is about our young professionals, more importantly, our unemployed professionals. The economy has taken a turn for the worst and nearly 10% of Americans are unemployed. While many others are underemployed. We are going through this struggle together and the MSM staff is doing its best to bring you tips on how to get ahead in the job market. Like many others, I was certain the economy would recover by now. My advice to the unemployed is to make your resume stand out by any means necessary. The best thing you can do for yourself while waiting to get a job interview is volunteerism. Volunteering in your community will give you the feeling that you are still in the workforce. There are many who are less fortunate than you. You can make a huge impact on their lives. Remember, your experience as a volunteer can help you land a job when you least expect it. Sincerely,

NFL, NBA, NHL With Labor Day 2010 gone like Tiger Wood’s first marriage, we, New England Sports Fans, turn our attention to three leagues: The National Football League (NFL), the National Basketball Association (NBA), and the National Hockey League (NHL). Unfortunately, our own Boston Red Sox got injured on their way of being mentioned as a title contender this year. It is all right. Our local teams have collectively spoiled us in a way that we always have something worthy to pay attention to. Coach Belichick and the Brady Bunch opened up this season with a strong offense, a revamped defense, and a better than even special team. As a result, they handed the Bengals their first lost in their opener. During the first half, they also managed to answer all their critics in all three aspects of the ball: (1) their defense is stronger than last year; (2) Wes Welker and the rest of the offense is not messing around (3) their special team unit is one not to mess with. During the second half of that game, they showed us that they are still unable to maintain a lead in the second half. This is exactly what burned them against the Jets. Unfortunately, other teams are going to take note that. No way, can they beat the Colts with this attitude. To avoid a repeat of last year’s performance, the Patriots definitely have to play with consistency including excel the same way (if not better) than the first half of every game they play in for the rest of the season; otherwise, comes January, we will be rooting even harder for Rajon Rondo and the Celtic’s Big Three. Speaking of Big Three, Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat were the apparent “big winners” of this past Summer’s free agency by signing both Chris Bosh and Lebron James. Although they are already being dubbed as Miami’s “Big Three” and crowned this upcoming season’s champion, the Celtics’ offseason was not spent unnoticed. They signed (at a bargained price) Shaquille O’Neal, Jermaine O’Neal, and Delonte West. The O’Neal’s are supposed to play significant minutes with the expected absence of Kendrick Perkins. The chase towards banner #18 seems to be a promising one, and it all starts when D. Wade and his sidekick walk through the door of Garden seeking their first victory together. You can bet that Rondo, the real Big Three, and the rest of the Celtics will have their gameplan ready for a healthy season and a celebration at the end of the year. Enjoy the football and basketball season.

The Millionaire Matchmaker
So I was flying back from a vacation in Florida with my friends Robyn and Carla, when Carla rips a page out of the airline magazine and hands it to me. “Here,” she says, “you need to call this place.” She had given me a one-page ad to a very exclusive matchmaking service “for the most eligible and commitment-minded bachelors.” I looked it over and my very first instinct was that it was a service created solely to match up older rich men with attractive younger gold diggers. I folded it up and put it in my bag and told her I would look into it, quietly thinking she would just forget about it in an hour. I went home and continued to date one guy after another with various “issues,” including substance abuse, emotional and/or financial instability, uncontrolled ADD, and/or employment as a lawyer, which is pretty self explanatory. The continuous pattern of eager anticipation turned to utter disappointment started to really get to me and I won-

First I met Dee from agency number 1 at the Taj Hotel in Boston. She’s a little Barbie doll of a woman, with big blonde hair and even bigger boobs. We got a table in the café and she asked me about what I was looking for in a man, my likes/dislikes, etc. She then told me she had a client that she thought I should meet and explained how the service worked. The females are called “affiliates” and never get to see a picture or even know much detail upfront about the male client in order to protect their privacy. What the agencies do is assemble a portfolio of potential mates for their clients, complete with detailed written backgrounds, information At the same time, Carla was up my learned firsthand from the affiliate butt to call the place, not to mention interview, and numerous pictures. As I laid on my couch enveloped in self pity switching through the TV channels, I stumbled across the “Millionaire Matchmaker.” She was attempting to fix up millionaire Anthony Cools, a famous hypnotist with a regular show on the Las Vegas strip, with a suitable mate. Now here’s the thing – I think he’s good looking and that hanging out with him would be a ball. Hmmm! I started to wonder how I could get on the show when I remembered that old ad I had laying around in my office. Could this be the way to go?

Next she told me her client’s age – 56! I responded that I thought that was a bit too old, knowing that I typically think that guys my own age are even too old for me, and asked her if she had any clients closer to my age. She tells me all the guys my age are looking for women in their early 30’s (yikes!). She also tells me Burt is extremely active, loves to travel, and is very youthful for his age. So I gave her the heads up to set it up with Burt. What’s the worse that can happen after all?

Written by a woman, for women
Sex With The Ex To do or not to do? It's been a while and your getting antsy, you aren't in a relationship and your old sex toys just aren't doing it for you anymore. You don't have a lot of guy friends and your too buys to go out looking for a new sex buddy, what do you do?? Sex with your ex is looking pretty damn good. There are lots of pros's and con's with this subject. Having sex with a man that you have already slept with does have a comfort factor, not to mention you have already invested the time with this person, you know them pretty well. Not to mention the fact that you know what they like. You know what turns them on and they know what turns you on and it can feel great. You also don't need to play shy, you don't need to worry if they will respect you in the morning or even what they think of you. Not to mention the fact that if you want to experiment you can just let go, you can get crazy and wild and try things you haven't been brave enough to try with a partner. In my opinion a threesome can be very exciting without worrying about your partner. About whether they will like the other person better or if they will want to keep doing it even if you don't. All that goes away when your doing it with your ex and another person. I know this all sounds well and good, almost damn near perfect but there can also be some drawbacks. The biggest problem with this situation is of course feelings. You did spend a lot of time with this person and even though you did agree to break up, someone 11

may still have some left over feelings. It doesn't even have to be your ex that catches the feelings. As women we do tend to be more emotional and it can be hard to turn that off. You need to make sure that you know what you want and where you stand emotionally with this person, and be honest. Don't lie to yourself because the last thing you want is to be sleeping with your ex and he takes it as it is and your reading more into it than there is. That is how we get hurt and that's where a lot of broken hearts come from. If your want to do this do it for the right reasons, do it to have great sex and to be with someone you like someone your comfortable with. Sex is meant to be fun and exciting. When your too busy with life and work and you just don't want to be involved with someone sex with your ex can be a great solution. Relationships take time and effort and they require an investment and sometimes that's just not practical. In the world today woman have to be just as aggressive and just as dedicated as their male counterparts and we do tend to get wrapped up in new relationships and it can be distracting. So if this is something you want to do go for it. Forget any stigma, forget not be womanly, and forget the fact that you were told as a little girl that sex should be about love. If you don't want to be in a relationship and you just want good sex then take it and don't let anyone else tell you that you can't. It's all about you and enjoy it.

Eliza Ray I always wanted to do a professional issue of the magazine. And when I decided to have Ms. Eliza cover the Fall issue of MSM, I knew she was perfect for the professional issue. Ms. Eliza is a young professional woman with an amazon-like presence. Statuesque and enticing, Eliza Ray carved her own way from simple beginnings in Santa Cruz, CA to her current successes as a model and student in Boston, MA. Her professional modeling experiences range from bridal shows for David's Bridal and Jean Henson to an all-star cast of Boston-based designers like Venni Caprice, Marnya by Avari Thomas, Ynez by Inez Antigua, Zeiri Lantigua, and Julissa Castillo. Eliza's rich portfolio includes work with Rhode Island based Illwear Fashions and New York's own Emma LaRose. Ms. Ray earned her Associates Degree in Medical Assistance from Heald College in Milpitas, CA and moved to Boston to further her education in Nursing. Eliza's modeling career helps to finance that aspiration. Blessed with versatility, intelligence and warmth, Ms. Ray lights up a camera lens. She has worked with Richard Bertone, Dwayne Moore (featured in iAmDwayneMoore.com) Justin Mayotte, David Blackwood, and Jillian Rollins of the Hallmark Institute of Photography; all of whom will attribute to her pleasantry and ease of collaboration, something in which she prides herself deeply. Ms. Ray was also the First Runner-Up in the 2010 Miss Central Massachusetts Beauty Pageant. - Marie Stuart Noel 13

It’s a jungle out there: Dress to impress your potential employer Time are tough and if you are unemployed, times are even tougher. When going to an job interview, remember Many others may also be competing for the same position. Looking sharp is one of the ways that can help the employer take notice of you. 1. Cover all tattoos Unless you’re applying to be a tattoo artist or related jobs, cover your tattoos. Men Wear long sleeve shirt, collared shirts. Women Wear long trousers and long sleeve blouses. If you have a chest or breast tattoo, make sure your blouse covers the tattoo in its entirety. 2. Avoid wearing uncomfortable clothing Wearing comfortable, nicely fitted clothing will help ease the interview process for both you and the interviewer. It’s not professional to wear anything that needs to be adjusted every few minutes. 16
Men Save the tight, fitted shirts and pants for the night club. Women Avoid high heels, tight skirts that ride up, heavy pocket books. 3. Avoid wearing bright colors Unless you’re an artist or designer, leave the bright colors at home. Men Wear gray, black, brown and pastel colored collared shirts. Horoscopes LIBRA September 23-October 22 A sad day ahead as the only people who want to make out with you are not your type. Those who like strong emotions, will be able to enjoy a little part of love, but before letting yourself move into turbulent relationships, think about it not once but a thousand times. SCORPIO October 23 - November 21 A decidedly important day, in which you'll lay the foundations for a sentimental revolution. Suddenly, surprising even your friends, you'll open up to new relationships with new optimism. As Oscar Wilde famously said - one can resist anything but temptation itself. This is how those of the second decade will live today. SAGITTARIUS November 22-December 21 Stop thinking of life as a cross to bear. You are the one ruining it with your innate pessimism. That's enough! An evening of brilliant egotism is on the cards. Your aspirations have been a dead letter for so many days, but an exciting encounter will liven up the evening. CAPRICORN December 22-January 19 A fantastic day ahead, full of novelty and highly erotic new encounters. What else can you ask for?! Expect encounters and harmless erotic temptations. All will go well. However a word of advice: keep your irony at bay as it could hurt people. AQUARIUS January 20-February 18 Those close to you will feel that your natural capacity to help others has been put to the test by great disappointment. Tonight you are desperately looking to experience love. But if you don't believe in the possibility of changing your life, you've lost before you even begin. PISCES February 19-March 20 Today you'll confess your insecurities to the Stars. Will you be eternally single? Well that all depends on you. Dear friends of the third decade, being single means accepting every gift, sucking the marrow out of life and enjoying yourself. What are you waiting for?
ARIES March 21-April 19 An exciting day is on the cards for you as you'll make heaps of acquaintances. You're in great shape physically and it'll be easy to enjoy life to the full. Tonight if you want to make out with a new acquaintance, you'll have to arm yourself with courage. Forget indecision or timidity...go for it! TAURUS April 20-May 20 Today you'll feel your patience has reached its limit and you'll consider how you can get rid of someone who is interested in you. There's no point using good manners you know. You're one of the most romantic signs of the Zodiac and tonight will give the best of yourself. GEMINI May 21-June 21 Be careful-playing too much with fire, you could end up burnt! Think rather of yourself, of satisfying some personal desire, to a look which really does intrigue you...stop fooling around. Tonight you'll be excited by a new acquaintance. You'll go to parties, concerts, balls and will have great fun. What more do you want? CANCER June 22-July 22 How long has it been since you've been in a happy relationship? You're starting to miss your solitude so be pro-active. There's no peace at work or in Love for singletons of the first decade. You'll have droves of suitors after you so watch you don't get dragged into something you don't want. LEO July 23-August 22 You were wrong to trust in your friends. Just remember that "All's fair in Love and War". Tonight listen to the Stars and don't turn down anything; an invitation to dinner or to a party? Say yes to love and to life itself.
VIRGO August 23-September 22 You are constantly on the lookout for new flings but when you talk about love and sex to others, very few can actually digest what you say without feeling a pang pf disappointment for you. During the evening, taken by implacable ardor, you'll attend parties, reunions, meeting places and every type of encounter: with an avid eye, you will look at every possible partner. *horoscopofree.com
