Tot Lot is the cool place to be for all toddlers/preschoolers. Activities include free play, simple crafts, and games to get you moving. Children must be supervised by an adult. Vehicle parking and access: Use the Kuehn Pool lot entrance to drop off participants and equipment. It will be for ADA parking only. Others may use Sioux Falls First Church lot at 41st Street and Kuehn Park Road or Kuehn Community Center lot at 2801 South Valley View Road. No parking in the Kuehn golf course parking lot.
An awards ceremony follows the event at which Premium Food and Beverage will host a drawing for a brand-new bike for a registered participant. ERIK’s Bike Shop will be on site to provide bike checks, minor tuning, and tire inflation prior to the race.

Vin Yin yoga is a marriage of two of the most popular styles of yoga: the strong Vinyasa style with the receptive Yin. An active, grounding flow with sun salutations and standing poses will follow a brief warm up to strengthen and energize the body. Salute the sun in this class in celebration of the International Day of Yoga! The Summer Solstice, designated the Day of Yoga by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014, has been celebrated worldwide since 2015 with the completion of 108 Sun Salutations. We’ll use different versions of sun salutations to ease repetition, so you can join and take breaks as needed. Want to try for all 108? Start small and add salutations in increments…as if training for a marathon! We plan to finish just as the sun sets.

In a vinyasa yoga flow, students move directly from one pose into another with an emphasis on breath and transitions. Poses vary from class to class, and the pace adjusted to accommodate students. RUN THE WOODS 5K

Each team must have four players—one sub per team is allowed. A six-team bracket will be followed by single elimination. Play be at the shallow end at the Kuehn pool, where players will be able to stand comfortably in four feet of water. The winner will take home our first WIBIT® Volleyball Champion shirt. The goal is to provide students with a structured aquatic experience that makes them feel comfortable and safe while swimming. Carole Wolf, a S.D.certified teacher with a master’s degree in adaptive aquatics, will conduct the classes, which offer a one-to-one studentto- instructor ratio for a 30-minute lesson. Ahoy sailors! Join the race to display your “ferry” impressive creations and see if they can stand the test of water! Boats constructed of corrugated cardboard and duct tape will be judged on creativity, seaworthiness, and the quickest to sink! No wood, Styrofoam, fiberglass, paint, or plastic. If “knot shore” about other materials that can be used to build your boat, ask us. Each vessel requires up to two participants. Life jackets will be provided and must be worn by contestants. Swimsuits and registration required.

Whether you compete in the Youth Triathlon, or want to learn about it, this is for you. Practice your swimming, biking, and running skills while getting tips and tricks about how to improve. Bring your swimsuit and towel for Day 1, and bike, helmet, and running shoes for Day 2. Tuesday will focus on swimming and transitioning to biking. Wednesday we’ll cover bike etiquette, riding the bike route, and running. ERIK’s Bike Shop will offer free basic bike kits and safety checks Tuesday. Call 605-367-7665 with questions. Early bird registration (expires July 26) is $15 and includes an event T-shirt and a place in the Youth Triathlon. After July 26, registration will increase to $20 per participant and will not include an event t-shirt. Packet pickup starts at 9 a.m., August 11, which is the deadline for all participants to be present. The event starts at 10 a.m. Please bring: Your bike, helmet, swimsuit, towel, socks, and running shoes.
Vehicle parking and access: Use the Kuehn Pool lot entrance to drop off participants and equipment. It will be for ADA parking only. Others may use Sioux Falls First Church lot at 41st Street and Kuehn Park Road or Kuehn Community Center lot at 2801 South Valley View Road. No parking in the Kuehn golf course parking lot. An awards ceremony follows the event at which Premium Food and Beverage will host a drawing for a brand-new bike for a registered participant. ERIK’s Bike Shop will be on site to provide bike checks, minor tuning, and tire inflation prior to the race.
SWIMMING GONE TO THE DOGS ALL AGES
Laurel Oak and Terrace Park Aquatic Centers will each host a “dog–a–POOL–ooza.” Dogs are required to bring their owners (no more than two dogs per owner), be current with their shots, and be ready to have a doggone good time! During the event, Stensland Family Farms will offer pup cups for furry friends’ refreshment. Dog off-leash rules apply. No swimming by dog owners. No registration required.

Midco® Aquatic Center is a provider of American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim courses.
Swimming lessons will be available for all ages and abilities. Not only does learning to swim allow for you to be safe in and around the water, it also has many other added benefits. Learning to swim provides a lifelong skill that can provide fitness opportunities, improve your health, provide strength and coordination, and provide confidence in the water and motivation to continue to improve skill proficiencies. Come to the big turtle shell for some prehistoric fun with our park’s one-of-a-kinddinosaur design. Run through the water tunnel, shoot the dino cannons, and stand face-to-face with the dinosaur. With over 60 different spray nozzles shooting water, you’re sure to get wet. The spray park is unsupervised.

The splash pad and outdoor sundeck are on the south side of the center. The splash pad is fun for all ages and includes interactive play features and outdoor seating. Midco® Aquatic Center guests can access the splash pad from the Recreation Pool. The splash pad and outdoor sun deck opens annually in May, weather permitting. Use of splash pad and outdoor sundeck requires an active swim pass or daily admission. The center will be closed Monday, July 4.

Check out Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation’s newest splash pad. This summer marks a new adventure in Hayward Park with the addition of our third splash pad. While in the park, try out the new playground, walking trail, and dog park, too. The spray park is unsupervised.

QUEEN BEE MILL AT FALLS PARK
The classic story of two young lovers who defy their family’s “ancient enmity” to be together, Romeo and Juliet is known for its depiction of star-crossed romance that ends in tragedy. In addition to featuring some of Shakespeare’s most iconic characters and lines, the play also includes delightful comedic elements and plenty of action and swordplay. Our 26th season is the perfect opportunity to share this enduring and unforgettable tale using Bare Bodkins’ signature fast-paced, engaging style.
The 90-minute performance will take place in the ruins of the Queen Bee Mill at Falls Park.
