SALLE DE BAL
MANU'S STORY Everything starts by chance. When I was 13 years old I was doing Karate. Then my parents started to dance for fun and I discovered that I also liked it. One day I told my mom: ÂťI want to exchange my karate life for dancingÂŤ and my parents encouraged me from the very first moment. From this day on I practiced very hard almost every day. I reached the highest category in dancing with my first partner (with whom I danced for 7 years) in less then a year. With my second dance partner I got into the finals of the Spanish Championships in Latin and Standard and travelled a lot around the world. We lived in China for six months dancing an awesome tour in 27 different cities. This was really a great experience. And, finally and I do not know how, I ended up in Berlin, where I found my current dance partner, Myla.

MYLA'S STORY I started dancing pretty late, normally you start at the age of 5 or 6. I was sixteen, even so, I wanted to dance ballet. This was my dream since I had been 6 years old. But unfortunately, nobody could take me to classes because of work. So, I had to play piano, which was OK, but not really what I wanted to do. When I was 13 my family moved to Germany and 3 years later I walked into a dance studio on accident. I stood there with my mouth open and knew in this second: »Yes! This is what I had been dreaming about.« From that day on, my parents have supported me in every way they could. After I finished school I decided to go to the United States to gain new dance experience, to learn American Rhythm and Smooth as well as to teach dancing, compete and to do shows. Finally, I came back to Germany to study and I am very happy that I met Manuel on accident and I am looking forward to gaining great new experiences with him!!!

The name Cristopher Santos should be very familiar to readers of sisterMAG. As a professional photographer he has been part of every single issue since the very first publication. For ÂťThe Wild Dance Of Silk SkirtsÂŤ he surrendered his camera to Thea and stepped on the dance floor himself. Read about his path to hip-hop on the next page.

Besides photographing for sisterMAG, Cristopher is first and foremost a dancer. Starting at the age of 12, he followed in his brother's footsteps as a breakdancer. Long before the days of YouTube, Cris first learned to dance by watching recorded music videos on TV and copying the dancers he saw. In high school Cris continued formal training in tap, jazz, ballet, and other forms, eventually finding his current passion in hip-hop and salsa. Both of these street dances give Cris the freedom to fully express himself.

Of course we could not produce a whole issue on France without traveling to the country of baguettes and café au laits ourselves. For our September issue we went to the port town in the South East of France that resembles best the mentality and flair of the Côte d’Azur: Nice, 30 km away from the border of Italy, located between Cannes and Monaco. Immediately after our arrival we took our camera and the city map with us to explore the city because we were pinched for time. After our return to Germany I calculated again: All in all we spent exactly 24 hours in Nice. You will therefore get to know 24 highlights of our vacation: they are situations, sights, places or maybe even a specific type of ice cream. You can get another impression from the Nice video
we shot. Come with us to

Harbour
In walking distance of the Quai des Docks we lived in a tiny apartment in the Rue Arson. The blue Port-sign saved us more than once when we drove around Nice in our red Cabrio, giving us a sense of direction.

Nice's harbour is one of the most important ones in the Mediterranean See. If you travel to Nice by boat, you will get an astonishing view of the Promenade des Anglais surrounded by palm trees and a first glimpse of the Mediterranean charme of Nice.

The Quai des Docks offers plenty of bars and bistros. »Le Pecheur« is a great tip for sea food dishes, but the view over the harbour with the yachts and fisher boats comes with quite a price!

After a long day of travels we were searching for a restaurant that wouldn't totally throw our sisterMAG travel budget out the window. Luckily we found »Les Garnuches«, located between the harbour and the Place Garibaldi. Kept in dark colours and covered in ivy, the restaurant surprised us not only with an outstanding main course (clod), but also with the most incredible desserts: Creme Brulée and an apple crumble with vanilla ice cream. les After dinner we happily set out to garnuexplore Nice's nightlife.

When we were crossing the Place Garibaldi and walked through the entrance hall of the MAMAC, we suddenly heard music from a plateau behind a steep staircase. In the backyard of the museum with the Thêátre National de Nice in the backgound, locals and tourists alike where dancing a slow Tango [5]. Cris felt inspired and asked a Lady for a dance. I was enchanted and watched from the side.

The Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporai (4), short MAMAC, is a museum for modern art, located on the Promenade des Arts in Nice. Designed by Yves Bayard, the museum opened in 1990. The collection includes around 400 pieces from the period between the 1960s until now with pieces from the new realists Yves Klein, Niki de Saint-Phalle, the pop-art artist Andy Warhol, the minimal and conceptional art, the school of Nice and the SupportSurfaces group.

When night falls Nice gets even more intriguing [6]. You can walk around the entire night and the town is full of people. You can even get a scoop of ice-cream at 11.00 pm. On winding paths we made our way through the old centre, Vieux Nice, and already passed the ice-cream vendor Fenocchio (see point 19) which was surrounded by a huge crowd of people. We walked past the cathedral and stumbled upon a long
square and were suddenly surrounded by the murmour of nightly visitors. Without intending to, we discovered the Cours Saleya [8], Nice's famous market square. During the day you can buy fruits, vegetables and flowers (see point 14), but during the night souvenir and handicraft-stalls take over.

Nice itself comes across as a ragged but beloved town full of mediterranean flair. One of the reasons it is the perfect place to go shopping for antiques and knick-knack of long past years.
53
The best way to explore Nice is on foot. Especially the old town centre is impossible to navigate by car, but parking lots are easy to come by. Most people use their scooters to get around quickly. The town centre and even main roads are packed with those typical vehicles.

The Promenade des Anglais is a celebrated promenade along the Baie des Anges in Nice. Before Nice was urbanized, the coast of Nice was just bordered by a deserted band of beach. Starting in the second half of the 18th century, the English took to spending the winter in Nice and initiated the construction of a walkway along the sea. For the local inhabitants, the Promenade des Anglais has simply become the

What looks like a spontaneous snap shot, took Chris and me an eternity to get on film. We waited for the (not so brave) Adonis to take the plunge and jump of the cliff. But it turned out great, didn't it? The colour of the Mediterranean Sea is just breath-taking.

Just 5 minutes off the beach is the square Cours Saleya, which provides a beautiful setting for the famous market, open all-year-round. There are two man sections: the flower stalls with their opulent bouquets smelling of summer and holidays on the western end and a splendid food market on the eastern part, packed with long tables overflowing with exotic spices, fresh fruits and vegetables, pies and candied fruits. Surrounded by restaurants and cafĂŠs it's the perfect place for an extensive breakfast, a good cup of coffee or, once the market closes in the evening, strolling past the souvenir stalls and an amazing Mediterranean dinner.

My most trusted companion during our trip to Nice and Paris was my iPad. Without my mobile phone (read Digital Native Column, Page 200) it offered the opportunity, through different on- and off-line apps, to navigate the city and read up on its history and landmarks. candied fruit
Candied fruit developed as a way of preserving the bounty of the countryside, plentiful with peaches and melons that would ripen and rot before they could be enjoyed. By replacing the fruit's natural water content with a highly concentrated sugar syrup, the fruit could be preserved for up to a year. The result is
a densely sweet, softly glowing confection that takes a month or more to make. In the Middle Ages the popes in Avignon enjoyed the rich confiserie. Today fruit confits glisten in the windows of patisseries and confiseries throughout the south of France and northern Italy. With added eau-devie, rum or cognac for flavour they are also used in baking.

The CASCADE DU CHATEAU is an impressive, artificial waterfall that was built during the 18th century. It is located at the bottom of the Colline du Ch창teau. Above the waterfall is an observation deck. During summer a venue right next to it is used for openair concerts. The view is stunning, Nice and the Baie des Anges are right at your feet.

Colline du Ch창teau is known for being the most beautiful, romantic viewing platform the city offers. There is no castle to find because it was destroyed in 1706 due to orders from Louis XIV. Nonetheless, the Castle Hill still is an attraction and worth taking the steep way up. Especially at night you will meet a large crowd of people there to have a look over the harbour, the bright, red roofs and the shining domes, the narrow alleys and all of those gardens of Nice.

Haussmann set clear architectural rules, for example, a minimum room height of approximately 2.60 meters. The facades should visually enhance the perspective of the streets through common lines. Typical Haussmann buildings are divided into three classes: for the wealthy with high reception rooms, in the second class the Belle Etage could be used by the owner, own entrances existed for the staff and the third class is the equivalent to the normal tenement with equal floors and shops on the ground floor. sister-mag.com

YourExtraLife is a real-life game, where people complete reallife challenges by taking pictures. It’s all about trying new things and getting out of your comfort zone.
2 We were bored. As young professionals, we realized each week could easily become a copy of copy of the previous ones. We would always go to the same bars, with the same people, watch the same TV shows, cook the same meals, do the same things with our girlfriends.
90 We’ve been bootstrapping for a really long time. We had a small seed investment back in January, but we used it to hire two senior iOS developers. We’re currently fundraising to build the next version and expand into new markets.

We earn money through partnerships with brands. YourExtraLife is also a marketing platform that allows brands to associate themselves with powerful emotions lived through challenges. There are so many different ways they can engage their audience on mobile with our platform, we’re just getting started.

The real-life gamification space is getting more and more crowded: there is clearly something happening there. I think our biggest competitor is OneFeat: they have a pretty decent product, but the philosophy behind it

GOES NUTS: THE SENSE OF TASTE text first published on ISS-ERLAUBT.DE A desire for pickles? An aversion to your favorite food? No doubt, your hormones are going wild and change your sense of taste. You also have an enhanced sense of smell so that you might suddenly feel sick although the kitchen smells like your favorite food. Especially during the first weeks of pregnancy, your hormones (e.g. progesterone, human chorionic gonadotropin/ hCG, estrogen) operate at full stretch in your body to perform a small miracle. Your body adjusts to having to provide for another human being. Among other things, the hormones stimulate cell division (proliferation of cells) and the development of the placenta. Your blood volume increases as well to provide for the growing life in your womb. This all takes a lot of strength but little extra energy. Your senses are sharpened and help you with your selection of food. You find it easier to avoid food that might harm you and the growing life inside you. Drinking coffee makes some women feel queasy, and even the mere thought of chocolate can cause nausea. Pregnant women often avoid alcohol, nicotine and spicy food instinctively. Iodine is a vital trace element needed by the human organism to maintain its metabolism. It furthermore is involved in growth control, bone formation and brain development while a baby is developing in the womb during a pregnancy.
Daily Requirement While an adult’s body is sufficiently supplied with an intake of 180 to 200µg (the German Food Association recommends 180 to 200µg depending on age), pregnant women need 230µg and breastfeeding mothers even 260µg of iodine per day. What does the daily routine of a gynecologist consist of? What is the expert's advice on behaviour during pregnancy? And what even is toxoplasmosis? Those are only some of the questions we asked Doctor Annemarie Kurenz, who has been working in the tiny town of Frauenstein, Saxony, for the past 25 years as gynecologist. Dr. Kurenz, could you please

I am sure that every gynecologist has their own daily routine, because it depends on what you offer. Those who do surgeries in their practice or offer special examination analyses such as the First Trimester Screening or a mammography will structure their day differently from someone like me,
I do an ultrasound afterwards or have them give a blood or urine sample. If a patient asks for an intrauterine device (IUD), we usually have her come in at the end of the consulting hours. As a gynecologist, pregnant women

CO-PILOT: BABIES' NAMES CHOOSING A NAME TOGETHER text first published on ISS-ERLAUBT.DE When a twosome becomes three: Something that is only possible during pregnancy. And it is the perfect prerequisite for something that every company considers the magic formula: team work. Quite often families are compared to companies as they ultimately share similar workflows, simply on a smaller scale. Tasks ranging from household chores to bureaucratic matters are divided up; there is a budget to be managed, and a name to live up to and to represent. Talking about names: This is one of the first tasks that you have to or maybe simply want to manage together in full anticipation. If there is a baby on the way, finding a name for the little monkey is an important matter that you spend a lot of time on— and a task where the soon to be father and mother can show how well they work together. Simply stating »My father’s name is Peter, so our child should have the same name« does not do the trick. And just because Gwyneth Paltrow calls her little girl Apple and vitamins are good for you, does not mean that our better half thinks this would be a good choice for his own offspring. You

EXPLAIN THE IDEA
We design colorful, slightly playful clothes for women and children who have extremely high quality standards. We sell these clothes directly at our me&i parties—this way of shopping is inspiring and a lot of fun.
2
INSPIRATION
We were never able to find clothes that both children and parents liked. And we wanted to change that.
144 Me&i is managed by its owners, meaning that we as founders each have a share of 50 % in the company.
4
Through sales and margins of course. Six months after starting the business in 2004, we were already able to pay ourselves our first salaries, which is unusual for a start-up and that makes us a little proud.

PURCHASING PROCESS
A host—a woman like you and I—invites other women, often mothers of course, to a me&i party. There, a me&i consultant presents the latest collection, talks about the quality of the products, about how our clothes are produced and
gives advice on outfits and dress sizes. If someone likes something from the collection, she can order it directly via order form. After 5-7 working days, the me&i package from Sweden will arrive at her home. It’s as simple as that. 145
We hope that even more parents in Europe will know about us in five years and that we will become the biggest direct seller for children’s clothes.
There are similar businesses with smaller collections. Me&i, however, stands for its creativity and product quality. This is what makes us unique.

NAME
Our designs are always based on the individuality of a child or a woman. Me&i stands for a distinctive style and a strong personality.
11
COMPANY COLOURS
Our colors change from time to time and we are always inspired by designs from our childhood in the seventies. We dig retro. 147
Well, actually all of us use e-mail the most. It’s simple and we can do a lot of work from home. Reconciling working and family life has always been an important goal of me&i. That is why we see direct sales as a great opportunity, especially for women, to juggle family life and a job for an additional income.

MOST OFTEN USED SOFTWARE
Personally, I am a real gourmet and good food has always been important to me. I guess in the beginning of our startup phase, I ate a lot of Italian food like pasta with pesto, ham and a lot of parmesan during the start-up phase. Not always healthy, but really really good.

second baby in October, I also know I won't be able to work immediately after that, so I have to prepare blog posts in advance. I have to think about a new strategy for this, because I won't be able to model immediately either, so new items will be created. There is a lot of thinking behind it, something people who visit my blog maybe don't always realise. They just see a young woman, a mother, who shows what she wears. But it's a business, and it grows rapidly, which comes with responsibilities!

How would you describe your maternity fashion concept? I still wear what I always did: High street mixed with designers. However, I also wear some maternity brands, such as Isabella Oliver, with whom I did an amazing collaboration by the way, this post will go live midSeptember. Obviously wearing heels isn't an option every day, so I invested in lots of flats and trainers. Other than that, nothing much changed!

appeti.co @ appetico fb..com/appetico
Appetico is a publishing software enabling authors, publishers and brands working in the field of food and drink to create high-quality mobile cook apps. The publishing tool is easy to use and makes it possible to create interactive apps without programming knowledge. The dynamic layout
EXPLAIN THE IDEA presents the content optimally on different screen sizes without the need of any additional manual adjustments. The appetico publishing software can be used on iPhones, iPads and Android devices, and the cook apps are therefore available on 90 percent of all mobile devices worldwide.
174 Apps on smartphones and tablets are starting to replace books and cookbooks are also increasingly being read on mobile devices. Apps can also contain more pictures than books—apps by appetico have detailed step-by-step instructions with sometimes over 30 pictures. There is also the

possibility of integrating interactive features: a Kitchen Timer and a Serving Size Calculator are already included. With the HandsfreeMode, the home cook can follow the step-bystep instructions without touching the tablet’s or the smartphone’s display.
ADVANTAGES OF COOK-BOOK APPS
So far we have financed the biggest part of our company through savings. In addition to that, we have received a small “friends and family” investment. We try to keep our costs as low as possible and therefore work from home.

INSPIRATION
We are both passionate home cooks and 100 percent addicted to our cell phones. This is how we came up with the idea of trying out cook apps, but had to realize that there are only a few good ones, which is probably due to
the fact that programming an app yourself is difficult, time-consuming and expensive. We wanted to offer a solution that would make creating high-quality apps easy, fast and cost-effective.
3
THE FIRST APP
The first cook app created with appetico was launched in June 2013 and is called The Vegan Nom Noms Cook App by Nicole Abramowski, an American food blogger who lives in Berlin. More apps are already in the works. 175
The apps are sold, just like cookbooks. The proceeds are split between the author and appetico. Brands on the other hand want to present their products and offer the apps for free. For that, they pay a fixed fee.
We will have our own office and our app will be one of the best-selling apps in the App Store!

FOUNDER'S PAST
There are different software with which you can create apps such as Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. However, this software is specialized in creating magazines and books. The appetico publishing software was especially made for creating cook apps.
Christoph studied Software Engineering at the Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam and worked for a company creating translation management software. Among others, he worked in Silicon Valley for them for 6 months.
Silke studied Business Communications in Berlin and at the same time worked in Content Management at barcoo, one of the best-known consumer apps in Germany.
It was actually quite difficult finding a name with food references that was not already used. We are big fans of the Italian cuisine and that is how we
came up with appetico. It reminds you of the Italian “appetito” (appetite) and it ends with “co”. That way we could secure the domain www.appeti.co.
Our company colors, just like our name, were inspired by Italy. So we used green, white and red— the colors of the national flag of Italy.

Refrigerate for 20 minutes, sprinkle with sugar and caramelize using a torch.
Whisk all the ingredients together until a dough forms. Refrigerate for an hour. Preheat oven to 180째C. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and form little balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Flatten them with the fingers. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool completely. They expected me to participate in the conversation, but the problem was that I was still absorbed in the middle of an iMessage discussion with my sister. without a phone, I neither arranged for a spare phone nor did I keep my SIM card. At first I honestly regarded it as a pleasant change to tell my »colleagues« at sisterMAG (in other words my family) that I was not available via phone—we sometimes call each other every half an hour. But that devilish morning of our cover shooting, when I was late and speeding through Berlin at 80 kmph to pick up our photographer Zoe, was not the first day I wished for my phone back. Also, when I was stuck in traffic with our photographer and stylist: »Would you mind if I made a call to tell them that we’ll be late?«— »Sure, no problem, we don’t mind.«— »Umm, well, I mean, I don’t have a phone«—right!
sister-mag.com
It also causes laughter when I start handing out my landline number. Without noticing it, it has become such an unusual thing to do. I even hurry home after work because I gave my number to this guy who »wants to give me a call.« And to anticipate your question: No, he never called. But all of a sudden I feel like Carrie in Sex and the City and stare at the phone while I vacuum and clean my apartment. I mean, I surely cannot go out and leave the apartment. Whether the landline number scared him off or my cell phone would have remained silent that night anyway, well, we will never know. And here is another realization of a

BUSINESS EMAIL ETIQUETTE text ALEX SUTTER Everyone of us is writing a number of e-mails everyday. Besides the ÂťHow are youÂŤ e-mails to family or chain letters to friends, e-mail communication is fully integrated in our everyday working life. In most departments it has replaced the handwritten business letter entirely.

Writing an e-mail is a faster form to reach out to someone. Also several persons can be addressed with one mail and even forwarded directly. But this promptness and simplicity also results in forgetting any kind of etiquette when composing an e-mail. Therefore Alex sat down and summarized the most important rules when composing, sending and forwarding business e-mails.

6 STRUCTURED CONTENT The addressed e-mail list should be as big as necessary and as small as possible. Normally the reply should be sent to the whole e-mail list (including every person in the copy) the initial mail was written to. Of course you can remove people from the replying mail, e.g. if you want to discuss something confidentially.

You can announce the possible retry in the initial e-mail by telling very politely »that you can otherwise gladly message again«. If you have to press somebody without getting a reply, an ironised approach, such
as »I hope I am not being a pain in the neck but …«, gives your repeated requests a positive touch and is most likely to be succesfull.

that every mail you send can be forwarded! Are you okay with your e-mail being forwarded by the addressee to a third party? If not, you should make the confidentiality clear in your e-mail or you should think about how to reformulate those sentences you would not want others to read, e.g. because they sound too emotional.

TWITTER-GUIDE for professionals Having studied – and hopefully practised - the basics of Twitter with Jeanny in sisterMAG N°5, we want to dedicate today’s guide to the subtleties of the short message service. I asked my sisterMAG co-founder (and dear sister Toni) the most pertinent Twitter questions.

[3] The third issue concerns the posting of interesting links, photos, and quotes. There are endless amounts of exciting topics, which have a high retweet potential. In a retweet the name of the person who originally posted it appears. Thus, a new audience gets to know you.
[4] The fourth point revolves around interaction and communication. Besides posting, direct communication with other Twitter users is very important. Don’t be afraid to speak to unknown people! Especially on Twitter it is possible to make new contacts without a prior connection or acquaintance. Once you have chatted nicely on a topic, the other person is likely to add you as a friend.

IDEA
Save The Mom supports modern families in their daily communication, concentrating all the information shared within a family that is now scattered between texts, phone calls, emails, Facebook, etc in one tool.
254 During our first year we had a co-marketing deal with Condé Nast Italia that earned us some money. Now we’re focused in gaining traction and creating a large user base, then we have already a few ideas on how to monetize it but I can’t disclose it right now.
We want to be useful and used by as many families as possible, helping them managing their lives in ways that we now can only dream of.

FUTURE PLANS
2
INSPIRATION
The idea came from my daily life: I have a wife and 2 little kids and was facing some organizational problems within my family (I usually forgot things to buy at the supermarket, I missed school and sports events, etc). So I decided to create a tool to help families like mine managing all this in an easy and fun way.

FINANCE
I’m a strategy and organization consultant and I’m in constant touch with entrepreneurs and industrial tycoons. When I decided to create Save The Mom I pitched the idea to
some of them and I got a seed investment to start with. Some time later I had another small round of investment, always from Italian entrepreneurs. 255
I believe technology will play an important role in families’ lives, connecting them with all the actors around them (schools, sports, supermarkets, communities, other families). I believe that the ability to communicate
6
with others (and to have the right information at the right time) is the key to ease the organizational burden of each family. At the end of all, I want families to be happy, that’s why I’m doing all this!
TECHNOLOGY AND FAMILY LIVE
My main competitors are the post-it notes attached to the fridge, the emails and the texts. Then there are all the productivity services (calendars, ToDo lists, shopping lists) and some startups that are targeting families (photo, little babies apps, etc).

COLOURS
We love design, and we wanted to give it the very reassuring style from the 1950s. The designer developed the first palette of colours that was very brownish. We loved it. Then came a redesign and a little rebranding
(Save The Mom now has the Family Matters payoff attached to it to remember to everyone we target the whole family, not only moms) and we introduced the green and red addition to the brown style. 257

01 RECEPTION
On a sunny Sunday midday in August around 11 o’clock Toni and Thea from sisterMAG welcomed the first guests in the facilities of their event partner BLOOMY DAYS in Steinstrasse 3, Berlin. After the reception, the florists Hßrriyet and Rebecca taught the participants what steps to follow when arranging flowers. First of all, all guests had to decide if they wanted to learn how to arrange a bouquet or if they wanted to learn how to make a flower crown.

Avoid direct sunlight and heat. You don't want your flowers to wilt quickly! 7. Change water daily, so your flowers will last longer. 8. If needed re-cut the stems. 9. Remove any wilted or dead flowers. You want your arrangement to look pretty, right? 10. Enjoy your flowers as much as you can. They spread so much happiness!

THE IDEA
BLOOMY DAYS is Germany’s first national subscription service for cut flowers. We send the most beautiful seasonal cut flowers directly to our customers on a regular basis—no intermediaries needed, always fresh and at the best price attainable.
Founder Franziska von Hardenberg

INSPIRATION
Our love for flowers. Flowers are the most beautiful things in the world and they can so easily bring a smile to someone’s face and to your own. It is simply amazing. BLOOMY DAYS is a classical e-commerce company that is financed by the margins of sales. In addition to that our new BLOOMEN SHOP has opened in Berlin (address: Steinstraße 3) where you can directly purchase and take home our weekly offer of flowers in suitable vases.

THE PRODUCT
They only receive the best cut flowers, unbound and simple without a a lot of foliage. We want our flowers to convince without being overwhelmed by foliage. Another advantage of unbound cut flowers is that you can easily and quickly distribute them among several vases. 289 We see ourselves to be Europe’s leading provider for online flower subscriptions.

FUTURE PLANS
7
COMPETITORS
We invented the flower subscription and this enterprise model has already attracted some imitators. At the moment we don’t see any real competitors though.
8
FOUNDER'S PAST
Our team members come from different fields of expertise. I used to work on different ventures for Rocket Internet.
9
FIRST TEAM MEMBER
In the operations/ accounting department.
290 We have a simple corporate design. It should rather remind people of a high fashion brand than a classical flower delivery service. We therefore decided to go with an elegant black and white for our colors. In addition to this we use a soft mint green as an eye-catcher.

Saxifraga is one of the most amazing and individual flower shops I have visited in my life. Forget everything you know about flower shops before you go there. The owner Carola Wineberger is a very creative lady and really manages to create atmospherical flower compositions. The shop is situated in the very creative district called Karolinenviertel, or 312
Karoviertel, and surronded by many small shops with a lot of handmade fashion and decoration items. What I like the most about this shop are the micro-bouquets. She makes some very small bouquets and displays them in recycled jars or shot glasses – they really look like the ones I loved making when I was a child. No vase is small enough for these little beauties. She sells them for a couple of euros. I find it so refreshing to find that kind of bouquet in a flower shop. So far away from all those pre-formated bouquets you find everywhere with gerberas and a lot of green.
