Dedication To my Albert, the Great, with eternal gratitude to God that we get to make the journey together.

These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. John 15:11-12

Note to Readers The Easter hymn All Creatures of Our God and King is taken from the poem Canticle of the Sun, written by St. Francis of Assisi in 1225. In the late 19th century, William H. Draper translated the poem into English, paraphrased it, and set it to the tune of “Lasst uns erfreuen,” a German Easter hymn. All Creatures of Our God and King has been a classic Christian hymn ever since. To the melody of this hymn I have added the harmony of a wordless story about a bunny named Buddy. Filled with the joy of his Creator, Buddy can’t help but bring that joy to his fellow creatures whom he meets along his journey. In very simple ways, he is attentive to their individual needs and does a little something to help them. Buddy’s tale begins in late winter as creation is waking from its slumber and progresses into early spring. At this beautiful time of year, the earth and all of creation echo the journey of our souls, from the penitential Lenten season to the joy of the Resurrection of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Easter Sunday. May we be filled with that same joy, and allow it to overflow, in simple little ways, onto all those we meet as we journey through our lives.

All creatures of our God and King,

with golden beam,

Thou silver moon

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Thou rushing wind that art so strong,

Ye lights of evening,

find a voice,

pure and clear,

Make music for thy Lord to hear,

Alleluia! Alleluia!

O praise Him! O praise Him!

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
