Kenia - Nairobi

In diesem Jahr haben wir nach langer Zeit mal wieder Kenia und den von uns 2013 gebauten Skatepark besucht und mit vielen Locals gesprochen. Gerade für unseren Projektmanager Gabu war es ein freudiges Wiedersehen, denn er war im Rahmen seines Freiwilligendienstes 2015 in Nairobi. Zusammen haben wir neue Pläne gemacht und sind auf dem Weg skate-aid Kenia zu gründen, um die lokale Szene weiter zu unterstützen und vielleicht auch einen weiteren Skatepark in Kenia zu bauen.

This year, after a long time, we visited Kenya and the skate park we built in 2013 again and talked to many locals. Especially for our project manager Gabu it was a joyful reunion because he was in Nairobi during his voluntary service in 2015. Together we made new plans and are on the way to found skate-aid Kenya to further support the local scene and maybe build another skate park in Kenya. Nairobi ist die Hauptstadt Kenias und liegt auf über 1600m Höhe. Sie hat heute etwa 4,5 Millionen Einwohner, was die Stadt zu einer der 10 größten Städte Afrikas macht, und ist das Zentrum von Geschichte, Politik und Kultur Kenias.

Nairobi is the capital of Kenya and is located at an altitude of over 1600m. It has about 4.5 million inhabitants, making it one of the 10 largest cities in Africa, and is the center of Kenya's history, politics and culture.
