Silicon Valley SNUG Family Childcare in the Wake of Covid-19 By: Marilyn Randolph I Amari Rise Publishing I www.marilynrandolph.com The COVID 19 virus has changed the standard way of life. Family Child Care, the heart of our communities, continues to beat steadily, even amid this present climate. Family childcare is essential. Many childcare providers love what they do and are stepping up. They are implementing healthy and safe measures to help bring ease to working parents and to those that are starting back to work. Healthy and safe measures include: 1. Temperature checks before entering the home or childcare facility 2. Consistent handwashing & sanitizing 3. Providing a stable place for children to do their homework 4. Wi-Fi accessibility for online classrooms I have found that family childcare providers in our community actually relieve parents of worry through the care they provide for their children. Pare nts go to work assured that providers are following protocols and safety guidelines that continue to keep their children safe and healthy. There are many resources and peer groups available online that keep providers aware of the county and state regulations concerning the care of children. They are working continually to stay ready and equipped. Companies such as Daycare Insurance (DCI), keep Family Child Care providers up to date wiht the latest insurance products and resources during these uncertain times. It can be hard to verify or even make sense of the available information; we want to share with you accurate, user-friendly information that you can act on confidently.
