Enhancing Productivity in Workplace Being the manager, you have to make sure than the employees maintain their productivity at workplace. But there are times when the productivity decreases and at such times you need to come up with ways that will motivate your employees to work better or otherwise your business efficiency will go down and you might end up losing a lot of money. To get out of this situation, there are things that will help your employees to start working effectively again. However, you have to be cautious on how you go about dealing with the situation. Mentioned below are some easy steps that will ensure enhanced productivity of your employees. 1. Deadlines - You can give deadlines before which employees should complete their tasks. If failed to do so, employees shall have a disciplinary meeting, and if they do complete their task then they should be provided with incentives. The issue here is that you will find yourself paying more for their job description. This will increase the cost of your business. 2. Targets - Set targets for staff. This means getting a specific amount of job done in a week or month. When they achieve their target, they get a prize and if they don't achieve the target, then you can begin disciplinary action. Once more, the issue is that you will have the additional cost of the incentive and will have to pay additional for employee who will just work when they are remunerated. The employees should look to their wages as the incentive for their work. If you work this way, it’s better to have yearly targets as compared to months or weeks, so employees work throughout the year with consistency. Besides, if they have stayed productive throughout the year, you may appreciate them with some reward, which could serve as a Christmas or Holiday reward. Therefore, this will help them in long run.

Rewards – One of the most ideal approaches to enhance productivity in office is to divide employees into team and then make them work towards the attainment of a common goal to build a sense of competition. When a team successfully achieves a target, it shall get some reward or incentive. Your role, being the manager is to ensure that the competition is healthy and the reward is something that they would look for, so they compete with focus. In addition, as a reward they should get a trophy or some certificate that they can display on their workstations. Above mentioned are some basic steps that you can use to increase employee productivity and make them more connected to the organizational goals.
