Book Review - HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton – Book Review Jonathan Allen from Politico and Amie Parnes from The Hill have recently launched their book “HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hilary Clinton” on 11 th February 2013. The 440 pages volume has been written after conducting more than 200 interviews which explains how the authors were able to capture so many former aides. In-fact, the research for the book also included interviews with the former first lady herself. It is also rumored that quite a few of U.S’s top diplomats who served as President Clinton’s gatekeeper were able to give valuable insight to the authors. As a result, this newly published book is an attention-grabbing narrative which sheds light on the entire political relations fiasco caused due to clashing of Cliton’s and Obama’s teams. For the readers, this book allows a window into how Hillary Clinton transformed herself from a vanquished presidential contender to an individual who was able to offer her loyal services in the Cabinet of President Obama - the candidate who managed to defeat her. The readers will also learn how Hillary Clinton was able to make use of her State Department time to further expand her knowledge-base in order to facilitate a more efficient deployment of the Internet in the White House. Her forward learning skills have been discussed in great detail, capturing on key moments of her tenure and her experience in the military force. The book also claims that HRC’s (Hillary Rodham Clinton’s) staffers for the presidential campaign of 2008 actually kept a list of fellow Democrats whom they believed to have betrayed the lady during her fight against a younger contestant – Barack Obama. This enemies list - which is dubbed as the “hit list” in the book, includes John Kerry, Ted Kennedy and John Edwards. Much criticism is being faced by the authors in lieu of this list which basically constitutes of rankings on a scale from 0-7. For Clinton loyalists, 7 is the worst degree traitor – a score which was given to Kerry. Excerpts of the book have been published and made available to the masses online by Politico and the Hill. Book2book, a book news company announced that the UK and Commonwealth rights of the book (excluding Canada) have been acquired by the Hutchinson Publishing Company. The political biography will provide the readers an insight of how the former first lady has been able to make a profound comeback to U.S. politics and has been able to re-establish herself as a powerful and influential political figure and a potential front-runner for the future presidential elections for the year 2016. The book holds tremendous literary and political importance as it attempts to paint a portrait of America’s most important female politician and a woman who stands strong likelihood of being the next president for America.
