India: The Land That Inspires People All Over The World The most stereotyped state, India, has always mystified the world. With its diversified values, faith and ethnicities, India has captured attention of many nations. The country has been progressing tremendously and promoting its people to develop internationally.

History: Indian history originated with the advent of Indus Valley Civilization from 3300 BC to 1300 BC spreading through the South-Asian subcontinent. The civilization lasted a millennium, after which the Iron Age Vedic period initiated. It extended over Indo-Gangetic plains and observed the Mahajanapadas, the rise of kingdoms. Ashoka ruled the large parts of India in the 5th century, after his adaptation to Buddhism, the religion spread in Asia. Hinduism came into practice during the sovereignty of Mauryas. In the 11th century, Islam invaded in India. They built the Mughal Empire and ruled progressively for over six centuries. From 17th century onwards, after the European presence and disintegration of Muslims rulers, the country was then governed by the British. To demolish the sovereignty of the British, the Indians and Muslims started their freedom movements from 20th century. The struggle ended in 1947, when India and Pakistan became independent.

Society and Languages: Indian society is integrated into hierarchy of 4 caste systems which include Brahmins, Kshatriyas, vaishayas and shudras. Dalit, meaning oppressed, is also a caste that has been excluded from the formal hierarchy. The people of this group are considered untouchables because they perform all the dirty jobs. Though Indian advancement has shown great flexibility in equalizing the people, the caste system still persist delinquently in the society. It highly matters in jobs, politics and marriages. India is a varied country, ethnically and linguistically. Indians in general, speak Hindi and English but locally there are almost 30 native languages that are spoken in the country.

Politics In 1951, the rule of Universal suffrage for all adults adaptation, allowed the country to become largest democracy in the world. This law means that every person has a right to vote. The rule was the enactment of the Indian Constitution. Presently, the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee and Prime


Minister, Narendra Modi are actively working on the clean Indian campaigns along with eradication of black money in money which is their latest movement. India is the 7th largest country in the world, with over 68 cities. It is the second most populated state as population reached to 1.7 billion in 2015. Indians are the most modest and compassionate people. They believe in simple living and are the followers of polytheism.
