Nutrition Timing Matters As Much As the Nutrition You Intake Eating along with the cycles of the nature is a very essential aspect to eating. The time when you consume food matters a lot to your sleep, digestion and eventually your health. Fifty centuries of Indian wisdom shows that aligning your timing with the nature can help balance the weight, energy and mental potentials. Ayurveda, is the sister science of yoga and is no doubt the world’s oldest record of medical system According to the Ayurveda, lunch is the most essential meal in the day. It says that the lunch is like the foundation of your house; not eating at the right time, skipping the lunch or not eating properly will be like pulling at that foundation from under the house. The house will hence, eventually crash down. This is however, contrary to the western belief. For us, the largest meal and the family gathering is set up at the dinner time. Meanwhile, the scientists have always believed that the most important meal of the day is the breakfast. But, that could have been the basic cause of the epidemics and diseases that the doctors have no answer to. In Transcendental Meditation Center in San Diego, a recent talk completely focused on this topic. A researcher pointed out that the highest life-expectancies are found among the people that live in harmony with the cycles and seasons of nature. We are made of the same elements as the nature, i.e. fire, water, earth, air and space. Hence, when the sun peaks in the mid-afternoon, our bellies also fire up digesting the food that we have eaten. It is therefore advised that we begin the day with a light breakfast when your digestive system is not so prepared to digest the food. However, when the fire in the digestive system is ablaze between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. that is the right time to have your big meal. The best part about this method of eating is that you will eat more and gain less. In addition, we already know that what we cannot digest, stores up in the body as fat. The fat makes us heavy, which causes us to become slow and lazy, therefore requiring even lesser energy, eventually slowing down the digestion. The cycle is no doubt a vicious one. This, moreover, contributes to poorer circulation of blood, joint pains, autoimmune conditions, irritable bowel syndrome and much more. However, if you eat according to the Ayurveda, the body will consume the right amount of food at the right time, hence, yielding optimum energy.
