MUSCLES CRAMPS: CAUSES, PREVENTIONS AND TREATMENTS Muscles cramps are extremely painful especially when it triggers while a person is asleep. Usually it causes severe pain in your legs that lasts for few seconds to several minutes. The main target of muscles cramps are legs, particularly thigh, calf and foot. As mentioned above, massaging with oil on the affected area not only provides relief in the symptoms but it helps out in preventing such pains. Ice massages are also good for providing relief and if affected area is massaged with ice pack for at least 10 minutes then you can visibly notice the difference in swelling. Make sure you follow the steps of massage with your hands as well.

Applying analgesic balm can provide same effect as an ice pack and gives a soothing result. Make sure that you have read instructions before its application over the affected area and also rinse your hands thoroughly after applying the balm.
