let's be inspired

4 Work Hard

It’s important to work hard and put in the extra time and effort where needed. Hairdressing offers so many incredible benefits, but these will only come your way if you are prepared to put in the hard graft.

5 Volunteer

If your apprenticeship is within a business that gets involved in lots of projects outside of the salon, put yourself forward to help. It could be that you assist stylists on photoshoots or get involved in a charity event. Even if you want a more salon-based career, being seen to volunteer and getting involved will get you noticed and show you’re a team player.

6 Speak Up

Don’t be afraid to voice your opinion. It’s important to respect those who have more experience than you, but your ideas still matter. You can offer a viewpoint that other team members can’t so make sure you are heard.

7 Go To Events

If you have the opportunity to attend industry events, go for it! Attending hair demos, exhibitions and awards is a great way to see other hairdressers at work, be inspired by success stories outside of your salon and have your eyes opened to what an incredible career hairdressing can be. Events like these can help keep you motivated and inspired to succeed.
