INDUSTRY NEWS PANASONIC REMINDS INDUSTRY TO BE READY FOR R22 PHASE OUT IN 2015 ADEY’S ANNUAL CHARITY TEE-OFF An annual golf day hosted by ADEY Professional Heating Solutions has raised almost £5,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital. The event was supported by other industry manufacturers including Ideal Boilers, Ideal Commercial, Stelrad, Wilo, Buteline, PTS, Bansal and City Plumbing.

INDUSTRY

With the countdown well and truly underway for the R22 phase out, Panasonic is reminding distributors and installers to act now to replace all climate control systems still using the refrigerant gas. From 1st January 2015, it will no longer be legal to top up or replenish a system using R22 gas. R22 refrigerant is a hydro chlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) that is commonly used in air conditioning and contributes to global warming when released into the atmosphere. If you have an existing installation that contains R22, Panasonic would be very happy to review it and offer solutions for replacement. To arrange this, please email uk-aircon@eu.panasonic.com

ED BALLS OFFICIALLY OPENS NEW PRODUCTION LINE AT WORCESTER’S CLAY CROSS FACTORY EPIC TREK BOOSTS VITAL CHARITY WORK Plumb & Parts Center’s Keith Driscoll has completed an epic 500 miles cycling trek from St Malo to Bordeaux. Keith and four friends, took the challenge, arranged by Polypipe, to raise money for three charities. The team hopes to raise £4,000, which will be split between Cancer Research UK, the British Heart Foundation and the Katie Haines Memorial Trust. The Trust, one of Plumb and Parts’ nominated charities, was set up following the death of Katie, who was only 31 when a carbon monoxide (CO) leak from a faulty boiler caused her to pass out and drown in the bath in 2010. The charity is backing Plumb and Parts Center’s Make it Law Campaign, which calls for CO alarms to be fitted when any carbon-burning appliance is installed in England and Wales – it’s already compulsory in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Shadow chancellor, Ed Balls MP, and North East Derbyshire MP, Natascha Engel, officially opened Worcester, Bosch Group’s new gas boiler production line at the company’s Clay Cross factory on Thursday 20th November. The two MPs were welcomed with a tour of the factory, which is home to Worcester’s Oil-fired Centre of Excellence and produces around 25,000 oil-fired boilers each year, before cutting the ribbon on a new £2.5 million production assembly line that will see gas boilers manufactured specifically for export to Belgium. This new line marks the first stage in the company’s export plans, and it is expected that the line will go on to produce gas boilers for the American market plus 20 other European countries. BRISTAN SHARES PLUMBING EXPERTISE WITH WESTON COLLEGE STUDENTS Bristan recently held a special open day at its Tamworth headquarters for a group of budding plumbers from Weston College in the South West of England. Playing host to a group of nine young students who spent the day touring Bristan’s headquarters, during the jam-packed day, the plumbing students met with Bristan’s product managers, in-house design team and testing facilities staff, as well as receiving hands-on experience with an easy-fit kitchen tap time trial challenge. There was also an opportunity for the students to gain additional insight through a question and answer session with Bristan’s care engineers and training manager. Scott Austin, a tutor from Weston College, commented: “In addition to theory learning, it is important for students to get real hands-on experience of products and the industry from people in the know. As such, despite being some way away, we choose Bristan on account of the company being the shower and tap market leader and its training capabilities, and they did not disappoint.”

PTS MANAGER REMEMBERED WITH CHARITY GOLF DAY In memory of former Plumbing Trade Supplies Business Manager and devoted charity fundraiser Mark Grant, who passed away last year, PTS recently held a charity golf day that successfully raised over £3,000 for the SAMH and Cruse Bereavement charities. Mr Grant, who worked as a Business Manager at PTS in Scotland for more than five years, was the driving force behind many annual charity events held at Bonnybridge Golf Club, of which he was a member. PTS staff decided that it was only right to continue Mr Grant’s good work, and so organised the event this year in his name. It was held at the very same club. The £3,000 charity money achieved by the event was raised through golfer entry fees and raffle tickets. Water treatment specialist, Sentinel, kindly donated the winner’s trophy, as it has done for many years while Mr Grant was organising the event. Gary Campbell, Sentinel Area Manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland, and Mr Grant’s mother awarded the trophy to the victorious ‘Team Rio’, which took inspiration for its name from Mr Grant’s favourite band, Duran Duran.

AXOR CITTERIO E: THE ESSENCE OF LUXURY International bathroom specialist, Hansgrohe has introduced a new collection of bathroom fixtures. Designed by Italian architect and designer, Antonio Citterio, the new Axor Citterio E collection of bathroom fittings exudes elegance, high quality and worth. Axor Citterio E is a charming combination of modern and classical features – elegant and timeless products of the highest quality.

Joystick or cross-handle: A well-designed mixer is always comfortable to use The Axor Citterio E fixtures are entirely balanced by a contrast of smooth shapes, clean lines and precious surfaces – features of elegance and high quality, respectively. Soft and slender mixer handles characterise the entire collection’s design, as in the single lever mixer with its modern and upright joystick handle, or in the 3-hole mixers with their classic cross-handles. All 37 products that make up the collection share a visually appealing and harmonious look that complements a variety of styles, from art nouveau to modern urban. Highly flexible, the range benefits from exceptional ease of use and a pleasant touch and feel. Easy volume and temperature control is an important feature of the entire collection – from washbasin to bathtub and shower mixers. In their archetypal shapes, the various handles of the thermostat modules allow the user to intuitively grasp their functions: the cross-handle controls water volume and the cylindrical thermostat handle controls the temperature. In hotel bathrooms, a two-way diverter clearly indicates which shower head is currently in use. In addition, Hansgrohe’s Select Thermostat technology, through a

simple push of a button and easy-tounderstand icons, enables separate control of hand, side, and overhead showers. In the bathtub, users can switch from the bath spout to the hand shower by pulling on a clearly labelled lever – even with soapy hands. Special customer requests are handled by the in-house Axor Manufaktur – a manufacture division that individualises standard products. For example, products from the Axor Citterio E collection are available in six highly scratch and cleanser-resistant PVD-treated surface finishes, polished or brushed: chrome, gold optic, rose gold, black chrome, nickel or bronze.

Axor universal accessories: The aesthetics of order Discover a new modular, multifunctional, and universally applicable system of accessories. Axor Universal Accessories deliver a comprehensive system that consists of handles, bars, and shelf elements. These products can be used individually or as a systems solution in bathrooms, and, to some extent, in kitchens. The collection was developed by the designer brand of Hansgrohe SE and architect / designer Antonio Citterio. “Out of individual, high-quality components visually appealing and harmonious accessory solutions are born. These can be rearranged or complemented by adding more components if the need arises. This means, customising room designs becomes much simpler,” says Philippe Grohe, Head of Axor.

Small jewels refine the bathroom “Accessories have a significant effect on the overall appearance of a room; they are an essential part of its décor. When I design something, I strive to create products that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. For instance, bars inside the shower function as a support for other accessories and serve as towel bars outside the shower,” explains Antonio Citterio. Timeless, elegant design combined with outstanding workmanship distinguishes the twelve Axor Universal Accessories. Clean lines and generous surfaces indicate high worth; smooth contours and soft curves embody elegance and are pleasing to the touch. High-quality materials such as chrome-plated metal, mirrored and white glass, not only contribute to durability and hygiene, but are also easy to clean. In addition, the Axor Universal Accessories harmonise with several Axor fixture collections and various bathroom décors. Special customer requests are handled by the in-house Axor Manufaktur – a manufacture division that individualises standard products. For example, Axor Universal Accessories are available in six highly scratch and cleanser-resistant PVD-treated surface finishes, polished or brushed: chrome, gold optic, rose gold, black chrome, nickel or bronze. COVER STORY

DON’T FALL FOR SLIPS & TRIPS AT WORK Slips, trips and falls are one of the main causes of workplace fatalities and major injuries in the UK. In 2012 / 2013 alone, they were estimated to have cost the UK economy two million lost working days(1) and were responsible for in excess of 29,000 reported over seven day major injuries or fatality incidents. Statistics aside, sufferers often have to endure pain and discomfort, injury rehabilitation, lost work opportunities and lost income – particularly painful if they are self-employed, so prevention is critical. Here Susan Peverelli, product manager at Timberland PRO®, looks at what can be done to help reduce this major workplace problem.

So how do you help prevent a slip, trip or fall related accident at work? First and foremost, ensure the area in which you or your colleagues are working is tidy and free from slip and trip hazards. The untidier a workplace the greater the accident risk. For those in building and construction or who will be out and about a lot as part of their job, think about the work environment. Will you be in wet, muddy or on uneven surfaces, climbing up and down ladders or stairways, going from dry to wet or having to twist, turn, bend or kneel as part of the job? Identify what the main slip, trip and fall risks are in your work environment and select safety footwear designed to deal with them. To the untrained eye, a lot of safety footwear today looks similar, but under the surface the difference in technical features can be massive and contribute significantly to comfort, well-being and above all else safety. The key is to match the safety footwear performance features to the hazards you will encounter and there are a number of considerations to take into account:  Sole Performance: Think of a sole unit as a tyre tread, designed to provide grip performance and stability. Just as tyres are designed for specific terrains, so too are sole units. The type of hazards, environment and conditions encountered will help determine the required sole unit. Wrong sole unit in the wrong

environment can increase a slip or trip risk. An injected PU/TPU sole unit will provide enhanced grip in addition to high level comfort, shock absorption and greater flexibility. Abrasion resistance within the sole unit is also important feature to look for.

DID YOU KNOW An easy way of identifying if safety footwear has been tested for slip resistance is to check its coefficient of friction (CoF) test values. The higher the CoF, the better the slip resistance. Look for CoF results higher than the minimum requirements set out in EN ISO 20345/6/7. Footwear passing the EN slip resistance test will be marked with one of the following codes, SRA (tested on ceramic tile wetted with dilute soap solution), SRB (tested on smooth steel with glycerol) or SRC (tested under both conditions).  Physical Protection: If there is a danger from heavy or sharp objects dropping onto, or piercing the footwear ensure that appropriate physical protection measures are in place. This includes toe and ankle protection, pierce resistant sole units and scuff caps.  Durability: Opt for premium materials such as high quality leathers made in the manufacturing process (in the uppers and the sole unit) as this will increase the durability of the footwear and in turn the lifespan. Attention to detail will also have a benefit. Look for additional stitching and flexible reinforcements on the toe caps and heels to reduce wear and tear.  Comfort: Critical not just for worker well-being but also for accident prevention avoid heavy, cumbersome or inflexible safety footwear which increases foot fatigue. The latest innovations in the market include anti-foot fatigue systems, enhanced insoles and the

use of breathable technical fibres designed to provide temperature control with the addition of antibacterial and moisture absorption performance to manage perspiration within the footwear. Consider composite metal-free safety footwear which is also lighter. Look for ergonomically designed padded collars which will increase comfort around the ankle particularly when flexing or kneeling when working.  Combining Style, Quality and Substance: More than ever before, safety footwear manufacturers are looking at high street style and are incorporating this into their designs to reflect growing customer demand. For leading brands, this emphasis on style is always combined with the development of critical safety performance features as highlighted above. Manufacturers such as Timberland PRO® also work closely with customers to create new products that meet specific industry needs or provide solutions to key hazards and put an emphasis on quality and product development. Look for manufacturers that can demonstrate this attention to detail, creation of innovative solutions and focus on quality.

Conclusion Slips, trips and falls are extremely difficult to manage, given the way people work and the environments in which that work is carried out. PPE should always be the last line of defence, but where it is necessary, it is essential to take time to know the hazards of the workplace and select the right solutions. For more information on the full Timberland PRO® range, available under exclusive licence from Honeywell Safety Products Europe in EMEAI, the World’s largest provider of head to toe personal protective equipment (PPE) solutions, visit the website at www.timberlandpro.eu

National Apprentice Plumber of the Year competition, ADEY Professional Heating Solutions is stepping up its support in 2015. INTERVIEW HIP!: What extra training would have been useful to you at college? ADAM: It would definitely be renewable energy as obviously that’s what our business relates to. When I originally studied, they didn’t cover this area so I’m really pleased that the syllabus includes it now. My apprentices get to learn about it at college, which is great.

Adam Bainbridge AGE: 24 COMPANY: Teesdale Renewables HIP!: Where did you start your plumbing training? ADAM: I started with doing my NVQ 3 in Plumbing and Heating at Darlington College. HIP!: Have you been on any further training courses? ADAM: Yes, I’ve had training on OFTEC boilers and Wood burning stoves from HETAS. I’ve also had Biomass training through HETAS. HIP!: As the first AOY winner, can you tell us how has it helped you in your career? ADAM: It was definitely the best thing that happened to me. I wasn’t too keen on the publicity at the time but after winning, I received so much press coverage, it really helped my business. So much so that I haven’t had to publicise since then! It’s been fantastic for my business.

HIP!: Did you set up your business straight away or did you have an employer? ADAM: I was 18 when I set up my business and still at college. I was working three days a week for Jackie Walker and it was only two weeks before I started working on my own. I’m still working with him now! Although I started as AG Bainbridge in 2009, I had bought the Teesdale Renewables name in 2009 and eventually started trading in 2012. HIP!: Looking back, when you were first qualified, what would have been helpful after you left college? ADAM: When you’re looking to set up your own business I think it would be helpful to have some training and support on how to go about it, as I had to learn by myself; picking it all up as I went along. So probably guidance on cashflow, accounts and stock management – and all made specific to plumbing too. HIP!: Are there any tools or brands that you were trained on at college that you use now? ADAM: Yes, we were trained on Worcester Bosch plus I went to Austria for a week to visit Eta where I visited their factory and learned

about their Biomass boilers, which we highly recommend. HIP!: What advice would you give would-be entrants? ADAM: Absolutely go for it. It’s definitely worth the experience. Meeting the manufacturers and visiting their stands were brilliant opportunities too. The whole competition was a really good experience. HIP!: What are your plans for the future? ADAM: I’d definitely like the business to carry on as it’s going. We went from 0 to 100 mph very quickly. Our focus here is on educating our residential clients on taking advantage of domestic biomass boilers. Currently we have more commercial clients so we’re looking to share the benefits to our residential clients too.

QUICK FIRE Q & As…  What did you have for breakfast this morning? I never have breakfast!  What’s your favourite film? Gladiator  If you could have dinner with a celebrity who would it be? Andrew Flintoff  Who’s your favourite band? Mumford & Sons  What’s your favourite football / rugby team? I’m a cricket fan.

HIP!: How many staff do you have? ADAM: We have 10 staff at Teesdale Renewables. We have three plumbing apprentices and one apprentice. HIP!: Tell us about your business do you specialise in any areas? ADAM: We have three areas that we specialise in. Firstly we provide Biomass boilers and wood burning stoves. We also have a plumbing and heating business plus our clients benefit from CMJ Electrical – where we have two electricians employed.

NATIONAL COMPETITION

AND SO IT STARTS! Entries are now closed for this year’s Copper Initiative National Apprentice Plumber of the Year competition. Since the announcement of this year’s competition we’ve received lots of entries and we can’t wait to see what this year’s colleges have to offer. The standard of entries gets tougher each year, so our judges are in for a challenging time during the heats! With only one student being put forward from each college, this is set to be a very exciting competition!

Jack was proud to receive his HIP! trophy in addition to other prizes that included an iPad Air donated by Copper Initiative. He recommends that this year’s entries make sure that their measurements are bang on. “Put your clips on the board in the correct place and you can’t really go wrong.”

FLEXIBLE PLUMBING

HEP2O IS FIT FOR PERFECTION Whether in new build or refurbishment, installers want a system that’s fast and easy to install but 100% reliable. With Hep2O, installers can benefit from reduced installation times, flexibility and leak proof durability. Secure & reliable connections Checking fittings can be timeconsuming which is why Hep2O features In4Sure™, ground-breaking joint recognition technology that tells the user when the pipe is fully inserted. The uniquely designed SmartSleeve™ pipe insert works with the cleverly engineered fitting so the user can unmistakably ‘feel’ when a connection is made.

The whole Hep2O push fit range of plumbing has been designed with, and for professional plumbers, and offers a wealth of benefits and ground-breaking features to the installer.

Adaptability While copper is still a big favourite with many plumbers, Hep2O is fully compatible with existing copper or alongside it in mixed installations. Quick to connect, even in awkward spots, Hep2O can be a great way to fix a leak or extend a system, which is good news for the installer and even better for the client. Being 100% compatible with copper is just one of the features of Hep2O.

Not only does it reduce the force needed to insert the pipe, the bumps on the leading edge are designed to fit neatly into the moulded internal castellation within the Hep2O fitting. They lock together like a hand in a glove so the user can simply twist and feel for the rumble to be 100% they have made a good connection. And the all-important o-ring offers a totally reliable seal in both hot and cold water systems.

No scale build up

Design flexibility No matter what the job, from new build and extensions to repairs, flexibility is always a big issue. Made from flexible polybutylene, the Hep2O pipe can be easily cabled around joists and obstructions, and despite being flexible, it comes off the coil straight so it’s easy to use on site. When fitting a bathroom or kitchen, it is easier to fit the plumbing around the project, and not the other way around.

High resistance to impact

Step-by-step jointing procedure 1. Cut the pipe squarely at one of the insertion marks and ensure the pipe is free from burrs

2. Insert a Hep2O SmartSleeve™ into the pipe end

3. Push the pipe firmly into the

fitting until you feel the rumble

4. Verify by tugging back on the Easy cabling - fewer joints

pipe to ensure grab ring engages correctly

Easy demounting with HepKeyTM

Demountable When installing plumbing, plans can often change when on the job so having a system that’s easy to adapt is essential. When you need to make a change, the HepKey™ is worth its weight in gold. Available in two sizes, the pocket-sized Hepkey™ and its bigger toolbox-sized brother, the HepKey Plus™, easily clip around the fitting. Once pushed they trigger the grab-ring within the fitting to release the pipe. It takes hardly any effort. The clever way the fitting and the HepKey™ have been designed means that the whole system is tamper-proof. The lip on the key fits neatly around the collar of the fitting. Which means the pipe will only release when the installer wants it to and it cannot be accidentally demounted by other trades or homeowners. The Hepkey™ is also colour coded with 4 different colours to match the fitting sizes, so users can pick up the right one at a glance. Saving time, especially in awkward spots, is assured with this secure, simple demounting tool.

Built to last, all Hep2O fittings come with a 50 year guarantee ensuring the same peace of mind plumbers get with any time-honoured copper weld and for building owners, a system which is tamper proof and one that building owners can rely on. For more information, visit www.hep2o.co.uk

Feel the rumble & you know it’s In4Sure™.

In4Sure™

Hep2O is the ONLY system with a joint recognition system that tells you when the joint is securely seated. Simply push the pipe in, then twist... t... feel the rumble and you can be sure that the pipe is safely inserted. No need to remove any caps to check and, no chance of unwarranted demounting at a later stage. Hep2O is packed with new features that make fitting easier, quicker and more secure for installers. LEVEL 2 EXERCISE

SPOT THE MISTAKES IN THIS STEP BY STEP... COLD WATER STORAGE CISTERN & HOT WATER CYLINDER INSTALLATION This guide is to assist you in planning an installation of a cold water storage cistern and the selection of the appropriate cylinder for the system type. You may be working on an existing installation which has an old galvanised cistern and the cylinder requires replacing. How do you know what size the cistern should be, or indeed what type of cylinder to install? If the cold water system is a direct system then usually the cistern will be 100 / 150 litres, if the cold water system is an indirect system 230 litres will be required (see BSEN806).

The next stage is to look at the source of hot water: gas boiler, solid fuel, immersion heater etc‌ Once the cylinder is selected and appropriately sized according to occupancy numbers in the house, you will need to dress the CWSC (Cold Water Storage Cistern) after removing the old cistern and cylinder appropriately. Measuring the cistern to drill the hole for the FOV (float operated valve). The manufacturers will furnish you with guidance on this, usually 60mm from top of cistern to centre of hole drilled.

1

3

2

A.

4 The part 2 FOV supplied with the cistern pack (Water Regulations (1999) Recommendation 16 compliant) should then be prepared and installed.

24 / HIP! Magazine

The vibration / stability plate must be attached and the back nut tightened onto the FOV.

LEVEL 2 EXERCISE

5

8

Tightening the back nut.

A.

6

Drill a hole for the tank connector at the base or on the side depending on the installation. The tank connector will be installed using plastic washers (no jointing compound).

A.

7

One washer inside the cistern and one on the outside, tightened with adjustable spanner.

Back nut being attached.

A.

9

Washer fitted internally and externally, back nut to be fitted.

A.

10

Internally the adjustable spanner is tightening the internal nut on the tank connector with the water pump pliers working externally.

You will now have a connection point for the rising main via the FOV, with the tank connector fitted to the cistern to connect the cold feed to the cylinder.

Continued on page 26

HIP! Magazine / 25

LEVEL 2 EXERCISE

The next stage is to attach the warning pipe connector, air inlet and expansion pipe connector.

11

Screened warning pipe connector.

12

14

Air inlet being installed to top of the cistern.

15

Air inlet.

13

Screened warning pipe connector is to be installed at the side of the cistern and must be below the FOV at least 25mm if using manufacturer’s instructions always adhere to those. Again there will need to be some washers attached internally and externally.

16 Expansion pipe connector. All holes for these connections will be drilled in a similar manner to the previous ones fitted, using a hole saw and battery drill. Holes to be cleaned and de-burred afterwards and don’t forget to clear the cistern out too. Expansion pipe connector being installed.

26 / HIP! Magazine

LEVEL 2 EXERCISE

The cistern is now dressed. As part of the kit supplied you will also have the lid and the jacket to fit, when the cistern has been filled and checked. The location of the cistern must adhere to the following;  Loft insulation removed from under the cistern  Cistern to be supported under its entire base using tongue and groove boarding or marine ply. Not chipboard and resting on a minimum of 3 joists with at least 150mm protruding around all sides of the cistern  Installed with at least 350mm from roof to allow for maintenance The FOV will be connected to the rising main via a tap connector.

A.

17

So now you have correctly selected your cylinder you must begin to supply the water to the cylinder. The cold feed from the CWSC to the cylinder will have a wheel head gate valve attached for maintenance purposes.

18

19

All pipe-work to and from the cistern, and to the cylinder, now needs to be considered. The system we are working on is a single feed direct hot water system; from the list below which type of cylinder would you select?    

Dual coil indirect cylinder Combination direct cylinder Direct cylinder Indirect cylinder

The cold feed continues to the cylinder and is connected via a cylinder connector.

Continued on page 28

HIP! Magazine / 27

LEVEL 2 EXERCISE

The installation will now have the CWSC and the cylinder in place, with a cold feed from the CWSC to the cylinder which has a gate valve installed. The cold feed should have a drain off valve installed at the lowest point for draining the cylinder.

20

In order to install the expansion pipe it is important to consider the head of water (system height). The height of the expansion pipe must be a minimum of 150mm above the cistern, then have an additional 40mm added for every metre head of water (system height). For example, if the system height from highest outlet to cistern water level is 2m then the expansion pipe will be installed at a height of 230mm (150mm minimum + 80mm for the 2m (system height)).

The top of the cylinder will have a cylinder connector attached to the pipework (draw off pipe) to the appliances.

21

The only connection that has not been illustrated to you via this walkthrough is the warning pipe connected to the CWSC. This is connected to the screened warning pipe connector and terminates outside the property. This walkthrough featured a SINGLE FEED DIRECT HOT WATER SYSTEM. The cylinder you should have selected from the list on page 27 is the third option of a direct cylinder. The other options were:  Dual coil indirect cylinder – used commonly for dual source of heat installations (double feed).  Combination direct cylinder – similar to the installation we have looked at here except the cistern is already combined with the cylinder in one unit.  Indirect cylinder – used for a double feed system with a heat exchanger (coil, annulus) inside the cylinder heated from a source of heat. The cylinder is fed from the CWSC and the source of heat and heat exchanger (primaries) are fed from the F&E cistern (feed and expansion).

Now the expansion pipe needs to be considered.

PEGLER YORKSHIRE LAUNCHES NEW RANGE OF TMVS

TRITON LAUNCHES NEW EXE BAR MIXER SHOWER

Pegler Yorkshire has once again responded to changing market needs to deliver a new Pegler thermostatic mixing valve range that greatly simplifies the valve selection process whilst at the same time enhancing product performance. Traditionally, Pegler Yorkshire has manufactured anti-scald valves with enhanced performance for the healthcare market (Type 3) and a separate valve for general and domestic applications (Type 2). The new more compact Pegler PEG402 series of valves meet the requirements of BS and EN standards, are WRAS approved and boast the BuildCert certificate for both TMV3 and TMV2 schemes. Pegler Yorkshire has strived to ensure the new TMV valve benefits not just the end user, but distributors, installers and contractors. For the distributor the reduction in variants makes for a clear choice and reduced stocking levels.

Triton has launched the new EXE Bar Mixer to offer installers one new mixer shower with a choice of two different handle options. Designed to make the installation process simple with the supplied dog leg fittings, providing flexibility of the pipe centres between 130mm to 170mm. Triton’s EXE Bar Mixer shower is available with one of two handle design options. The EXE standard handle is smooth to turn, whilst the contemporary design will fit well with most existing bathroom designs. Alternatively the EXE lever handle is suitable for all applications and user abilities. The extended paddle design gives added ease of use and is simple to operate with one finger, providing an inclusive showering environment for those who may require assisted showering. A five-year parts and labour guarantee is offered as standard.
