BRIEF:

AUDIENCE:

RANGE:

PURPOSE:

Design the branding, identity and promotion for myself as a designer that can be used to gain a presence within the design world.

The audience for this brief will vary depending on the context in which I give out the card. If I give a business card to a potential employer, then that person will be from a design back ground. But on the other side, a potential client could also pick up my card so I need my personal branding to appeal to both audiences.

From my personal branding I am going to create a logo, business card, creative cv / promotional goods and a web presence.

The purpose of developing a personal branding is so that our work has a more Professional look. It will open more doors into the professional graphic design world as it ables one to have more of a presence.

LAST YEAR:

SIMPLE:

Above is my personal branding from second year. I still enjoy this version of my personal branding but looking back there are certain aspects of it that needed changing. I feel it is too busy and that the colour is to loud. I do feel the pastel colours are relevant to my work but I feel that there are more subtle ways of incorporating them into my branding.

I feel that with a logo less can be more and this is something I have introduced into my logo. By stripping it back I now feel I can apply it more successfully and have more freedom to use it how I like. The simplicity represents my work more and I feel that the use of black in a logo gives it more longevity as it does not date as fast as if it was a fashionable colour.

BUSINESS CARDS: For this project I have looked into designer branding and business cards. It has been beneficial to look at how designers represent themselves on a piece of card and has proved to me that you can put your personality across through your branding. PERSONAL BRANDING

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT:

SAY MY NAME + SN KM SAY MY NAME: As I am wanting to set up show with Lizzi and Mike and create studio, Say My Name, I felt it would be relevant to create one version of my business card that will kill two birds with one stone representing both myself and the studio. I will develop a way that allows this. PERSONAL BRANDING

FINAL OUTCOME:

WEB PRESENCE: My online presence this year has greatly improved as I am now enrolled on many online platforms such as LinkdIn, Behance, Twitter and website. I have found having a logo useful as it has allowed me to have a consistent identity, which is beneficial on something as large as the internet. PERSONAL BRANDING

FINAL OUTCOME:

SUZANNE MOORE

PERSONAL BRANDING: This is my printed personal branding which consists of a range of business cards and a promotional booklet which also doubles up as my creative CV. I wanted to keep things as simple as possible and not over complicate my identity by creating ephemera which is not appropriate to me such as fancy envelopes. PERSONAL BRANDING

FINAL OUTCOME:

HUMAN BEING: Something which I really struggle with is labelling myself as although I am a graphic designer and that is what I would write, I also like the idea of having to engage with someone to find out what you do. For that reason I have decided to title myself as a ‘human being’ as this is the truth and by remembering that we are all humans it makes people more approachable.

PROMO / CREATIVE CV: For my creative CV I decided to create a simplistic booklet that would house some images of my work that could be left behind with a potential employer and could act as a reminder of the work I have done. I have kept my description of myself very short as I would rather my work do the communicating. PERSONAL BRANDING

FINAL OUTCOME:

SAY MY NAME: The previous business card would be one that I would give to potential employees of the graphic design world. Above is a business card that would be used for potential clients as although it my personal business card it opens up to revel the studio information. I feel this works as a way of introducing our potential start up business adventure. It is engaging which represents what we want to achieve.
