Meeting Minutes October 19, 2016 Hartford Public Library Board Attendance: A. Ambrose, M. DiBella, F. Gordón-Quiroga, M. Gottesdiener, D. Peabody, M. Robbins, C. Sicbaldi, D. Silva, R. Zaleski Community Attendance: A. DeMaine (HPD), F. Peck (City of Hartford), C. Peterson, A. Hartman, R. Cacioppo Meeting came to order at 6:05 PM with introductions around the room. Police Report: A. DeMaine presented • Overall incidents down 11.3% (Downtown area), 8.4% (city-wide) • Specifics: 11 robberies (mostly “Apple-picking”); 1 burglary; 4 car break-ins • General discussion re: ATVs followed • Additional stats can be found online at www.Hartford.gov • To report non-emergency situations, call (860) 757-4000 Additional members arrived during Police Report so with a quorum now present the minutes from Sept. 2016 meeting were approved at 6:20. Treasurer’s Report: per C. Sicbaldi, current funds total $1,364.19. Neighborhood Updates: • Park/Main: multiple NRZs, non-profits and neighboring entities were invited to a recent CRDA meeting re: land development at Park & Main Streets – 3 scenarios were presented and discussed with meeting adjourning for further revision, details forthcoming (via R. Zaleski); • Outreach: R. Zaleski emphasized need to include full NRZ to affect change. M Robbins and A Hartman have volunteered to lead an ad hoc committee, additional members needed; • Holiday Social: R. Zaleski reminded group that in lieu of December meeting, SoDo NRZ will have a holiday social (details forthcoming);

Hartford 2000: A. Ambrose informed group that Sept. meeting discussed general 2017 planning; Hartford Decides: per M. Moriarty (absent) of total $1.5M budget, $250k set aside for entirety of 2017 improvement projects; further discussion addressed issue of SoDo community garden land “not necessarily available”, awaiting word from Hartford Decide$ subcommittee that implementation team is ready to start planning – (via R. Zaleski); Capitol Avenue Redevelopment: next meeting scheduled first week of November, anticipating report next meeting
Old/New Business: • C. Petersen reminded group that “Live Work Love Hartford” meets last Wednesday of every month *except* Nov. & Dec. are third Wednesdays (same as SoDo) 5:30-7:00pm. • D.
