MOOSHG! ‘Architecture thesis of pure escapism on the moon.’ The essential question of the design thesis is to investigate the architecture of illusion and morality; distracting the concious with a music festival whilst concealing the dark activities, black market, drug production lab from the sub-conscious. Will this investigate the illusion of freedom to the party-goers whilst having minimal public surveillance for safety? Thesis statement: Located on the moon, where there are no restriction of laws, this thesis focus about a festival that investigates human’s ultimate escapism from earth and enjoying the uncharted freedom of space through architecture. 5 main drives of how escapism is tested: 1. Celebrate the dark through art, food, music. light and sound. 2. Uncharted territory and new experience for the audiences. 3. Out of audiences comfort zones. 4. Radical Inclusion; welcoming and respectful. 5. Communal effort. Fear and darkness creates an interesting architecture.

FAIRY-TALE CLUSTER HOUSING! ‘A modern, self-sustainable village in the heart of East Brighton.’ At present, houses and market space or any communal spaces are segregated as to maintain a unified boundary of public and private spaces. However, subconsiously, this backdtated approach causes restricted communication. Thus, resulting in social dysfunctions among neighbours. The proposed idea, FairyTale Cluster Housing, is a series of modular houses which is able to transform from a house to a stall, promoting each individual house to produce their own local produce. In addition, it encourages visual communication at a critical level as to promote a sense of security, a strong sense of belongings and to relive the atmosphere of a true village.

TRUNE HOUSE ‘Embraces interchangable spaces throughfunctions and evoking a strong sense of belongings.’ Located on Charles Street in Prahan, the Triune House is designed for a young married couple who enjoys their private space during the weekdays and have dinner parties over the weekends. The main design objective is to explore and heighten the intimacy of living in a small house through atmospheric elements; light, shadow and sound. It is structured in three distinct segments; living, kitchen and bedroom, elegently gelled together to form a consise space minimizing circulation space. This is achieved by extensive study of the sun’s characteristics, shadow casting site surroundings. Each segment of the house received interchangable treatments for different functions.

SKYEDGE ‘Make way for the future of hybrid skyscraper.’ SkyEdge is a 56 storeys above ground level, with a total of 46 floors, 77,000m2 of rentable space. It stands roughly less than 240m2 in height, which includes the vanity top. The structural concept is a notion of pushing the boundaries of typical skyscraper construction methods and celebrating it by exposing the exoskeleton of the building. In order to have a full understanding, braced frame and outrigger system is the preferred system. In addition, an external rods, which were were welded to the main spine, were bolted onto a custom stainless stell plate, sloted on the edge of the 200mm thick floor plate and anchor bolting for a fixed connections. Thus achieving a hybrid system that distributed lateral load equally. The external facade consist of a series of hexagonal modules which become an active sun shading system for the northwest part of the building. It is a hexagonal modules that changes in sizes individually and perform like an ‘umbrella’ to allow varieties of light intensity promoting better control of daylight into the building.

SF.ARCHSTUDIO-freelance ‘To create a bridge, connecting the ordinary work with the colourful and pragmatic design realm.’
SF.archstudio is a self effort to pursue my hunger for design exploration besides architecture. It has been an ongoing freelance activity for the last five years and ongoing. SF.Archistudio covers a wide range from schematic architecture design, interior design, basic landscape design and rendering services. I liased with clients from Kuala Lumpur, Medan and Aceh (Indonesia), Singapore and Melbourne. The most interesting aspect in my freelance pursuit is understanding the clients’ needs, interms of developing their interest in a design vision, their financial flow and organising workflow. In addition, it is essensial for me to create a bridge for the clients to understand my vision, as a designer and provide them with a proper design outcome and ultimately, satisfy their needs.
