HOW TO DRAW A
CROISSANT? Elevation
T
CROISSANT
his module includes the learning of techniques of measuring with accuracy as well as the skills of producing an axonometric drawing.
First, a photostage was set up with a key light and a reflector to enhance the lighting that falls on the model and the pictures were then fixed up in photoshop by adding a levels adjustment layer and choosing a photo filter. Next, I overlaid tracing paper to hatch the top view, elevations and the sections with outline,. Then the axonometric drawing was constructed with the reference of the drawn plan view.
Elevation
In this module, I learnt how to utilise drawing equipments as well as construct orthogonal projections accurately. Other than that, I have learnt how to hatch and shade accurately.

MARIO
his module includes the differentiation of ‘subjective’ and ‘objective’ points of view by utlizing 2d and 3d spatial constructions. For my end product of a new Mario Worlld, I used gradient and shadows to enhance the effects of three dimensions and frontality. For the characters, I added them as if they are making use of the space of the Mario World with a river under a slope of a hill and the river leads to a underwater world. And the other side of the world is the underground world where the tube character leads to.
In this module, I enhanced my techniques in drawing axonometric drawings by learning the method of projecting two 2d drawings into one 3d drawing. I have also gained the knowledge of vector and image based graphics throught the workshops. Other than that, I had also got the chance to utilize Adobe Illustrator to produce my final product.

1 Materials and equipments are set up. The mateirals and equipments I used were tracing paper, ruler, T-square, pencils, Unipin
2 The first Mario World given was then projected onto a piece of tracing paper as well as considering the frontality and sequence of the objects in the Mario World.
Fineline pens, eraser, mounting board adjustable set square and masking tape.

The second Mario Wrold was then projected forward after that. With a boudning box of 20cm by 20cm, some space was available in between both worlds for the addition of characters and elements into the final Mario World.
PATTERN SURFACE VS SUR-
T
his module was done to manipulate a topography as surface using Rhino 3d panelling tool as well as to create a physical model based on the landscape topography given. For my paper model, I used a concept of a sloping hill with the peak at the center and gradullay sloping downwards to the sides due to my topography having a suttle hump in the middle and sloping sides. So, to utilize this effect, a hill or mountain in the middle will make the hump to be more obvious To achieve this hill slope effect, I made the panels at the middle to be higher and smaller hexagon openings as well as denser compared to the surroundings. Then, following the downwards slope of the hill, my panels became shorter as well as less dense with larger hexagon openings.
In this module, I learnt gained knowledge of using Rhino 3d paneling tool as well as to produce a 3d paper model with techniquessuch as scoring and cutting precisely as well as to make my model looking clean and tidy.

or this module, I used scoring techniques to create shapes and fold my paper. I used 270 gsm paper which is thick and sturdy, however, it was a challenge to cut or create fold creases with my scalpel as the thick material will not cut through or the creases will be too shallow to fold. But, in the end, I managed to get used to the material and was able to produce a clean and tidy end product, thus producing the desirable effect for my end product.

PRO CESS
1 The topography given was applied with 2d and 3d panellings and different iterations were tried out.
2 After that, different 3d panelling shapes were tried out and experimented until a final desirable one was produced and were panelled onto the topography given.

his module was to introduce perspective and the mapping of movements and figueres via Notations. In my perspective view and notations, I divided the city into three parts, the living Laudomia. the unborn Laudomia and the dead Laudomia. Based on the story, the living Laudomia are living in a flood of dense emotions. Thus, the population of the living Laudomia will cross over to the dead and unborn Laudomia to question them and to seek explanations. Therefore, I have included the notations of crossing over spaces and having to bring their emotions with them. Other than that, I included the path that Marco Polo had walked based on the narrative of the story. I noticed that in the story, Marco Polo crossed over from the dead city to the unborn city and can also see that he paid more attention tothe unborn city, with a denser emotion going on at the time he was walking. So, I changed the notation of movement based on that, with the thicker and denser arrows as when he was walking slower and having more emotions as well.
In this module, I learnt visualization of stories and interpreting them visualling thorugh notations to tell the stories. I have also learnt about collaging of pictures in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

CITY & THE DEAD 5: LAUDOMIA
SCE NE 1
T
his scene shows the city of the dead as a cemetry with the gravedigger in the scene carrying a wheelbarrow. The characters on the right side are chosen as they show signs of death and sorrow within them as the story strongly emphasizes the emotions such as toil and anger. Textures on the columns and on the floor are used to illustrate a cemetry and to enhance even more the atmosphere in a cemetry.

SCE NE 2
T
his scene shows the city for the unborn which includes characters with bizzare clothings, children, a married couple and some people extruding from the walls which are included in the story. The background is also showing the city having a huge number of residence which are still yet to be unborn with numbers that can reach infinity, however it also illustrates a city slowly disappearing along with time with the huge wearing out clock. The textures are chosen to symbolise different cell tisuues as a sign of the unborn are growing in the city.

oudnation of Design: Representation built a foundation for design and introduces me to design practices that are used in architecture, landscape architecture, graphic design, performance design and digital technology. In this subject, I have gained and learnt a lot, especially with my design techniques and the usage of softwares. Throughout the four modules that I had done, I have learnt how to draw perspective drawings such as isonometric and axonometric views which will be significantly useful in the future of my career. Other than that, from module 2, I have managed to

gained knowledge of Adobe Illustrator to design and illustrate my drawings in vectors and to enhance my ability to utilize gradients, textures and shadows into my product. With module 3, the subject had thought me about Rhino 3d paneling tool to form a design a landscape with shapes and panels. I also produced a paper model and leant the techniques of scoring and handling my models with care. Lastly, in the final module, I learnt the skills of collaging and interpreting data and information in visual forms thus developing a critical eye.
Throught four modules, I did a fairly decent job in fulfilling the requirements and checking the rubrics. However, for
module 3, I could have done better if I used a simplier shape rather than a complicated one in order to produce a much cleaner and tidier model so that the overall visual appearance will be improved. Other than that, I have could also did a better job in the photography of presenting my modules by editting them in Photoshop using levels options.
However, this subject is a great foundation to start off my deisgn course and will help greatly in the future in terms of designing and making models.
