ROYAL ARMOURIES LEEDS MAKE: Believe Discover the magic behind the movies Charge down to the Royal Armouries Museum for an action-packed events programme and a brand new exhibition all about arms and armour in popular culture. Make: Believe features arms, armour and ephemera from cult and classic movies and television shows. Star pieces include the Pulse Rifle from Aliens, Star Wars blasters, Monty Python helmets plus swords and firearms from a glittering back catalogue of classic films. See how the national collection has inspired the creation of some of the most iconic weapons and armour on screen, and in turn how this has influenced the development and design of their real-life modern counterparts. There’s also a blockbuster events programme giving a real insight into how heroes on the big screen look that good and fight that hard. From October to February we’re running a whole series of events – Movie Monsters (26 Oct – 3 Nov), Action Heroes (30 Nov & 1 Dec), Space Heroes (28 & 29 Dec), Fantasy Heroes (25 & 26 Jan) and Superheroes for February half term (15 – 23 Feb). presentations, demonstrations of stunt and fight techniques, analysis of how action sequences are filmed, how props are used and a whole host of behind the scenes sorcery. You’ll also be able to have a go at screen combat techniques and the crafts behind the camera. There be lots of photoopportunities with costumed characters from your favourite films and TV shows, plus replica vehicles and props. On Movie Nights we’ll be screening cult films and there’ll be the chance to get up close to the arms and armour seen on screen. Special guest speakers from the industry will reveal behind-the-scenes insights and tricks of the trade (14 Nov, 5 Dec, 27 Dec, 30 Jan and 27 Feb). FORWARD LEEDS Have a Happy and Safe Christmas and New Year The drink can flow freely throughout the festive period.

It can lower inhibitions which may cause people to say or do something they regret later on.

It’s tempting to enjoy yourself, knowing that you have an extended break to relax and switch off. But, it’s easy to drink too much. Children might see their parents behave differently from usual due to having too much – which can be upsetting.

Check out our Top 10 Tips for Safer Seasonal Drinking this Christmas to make sure you have the best possible time.

It can lead to family arguments, or accidents in the home. People try and do things they might ordinarily not do.
