Eliina Shawl

Eliina Shawl is knit from neck down following a charted pattern or written instructions. The finishing is made by crocheting. The shawl shown above is knit of Viivi wool yarn (450 m / 492 yards = 100 g, tex 37 x 6) with 4.5 mm needles and it is 36 inches (92 cm) neck down and 79 inches (200 cm) wide. Yarn: light fingering or fingering weight Yardage: 750 – 760 yards (685 - 695 meters) Gauge: isn't critical, in orange shawl 15 stitches = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch after blocking Needles: US 7 / 4.5 mm or suitable for your yarn choice, but note that bigger needle size increases the yardage Needle size and yarn weight are just suggestions. Bigger needle size and/or thicker yarn means a bigger shawl and vice versa. You will also need a crocheting hook suitable for your yarn choice, I used 2.5 mm hook. If you knit following written instructions, you will need one stitch marker.

Charted instructions Note! Charts are read from bottom to top, right to left, only right side rows are shown. The two edge stitches in the beginning and in the end of the row are always knit on the both sides. Stitches purled on the right side are knit on the wrong side and all other stitches are purled on the wrong side.
