100 cm (40 in) circular needle size 5 mm 100 grams sock weight wool
Abbreviations:
CO – cast on K – Knit P – Purl PM – Place marker Yo – yarn over needle Sl1 – slip one stitch knitwise K2tog – knit 2 together Psso – pass the slip stitch over K2togtbl – knit 2 together through back of loops BO – bind off

Method: CO 262 stitches Row 1: K2, yo, K4, Sl1, K2tog, psso, K4, yo repeat to last 2 stitches, K2 Row 2: Purl Repeat last two rows for 4 inches Next row: K131, PM, K15, K2togtbl, K2, turn Next row: Purl to marker, P15, P2tog, P2, turn Next row: Knit to last stitch before turning point, K2totbl, K2, turn Purl to last stitch before turning point, P2tog, P2, turn Continue in the same way until there are 34 stitches left on each side of the marker Next : Row 1: Knit to last stitch before turning point, K2togtbl, K4, turn Row 2: Purl to last stitch before turning point, P2tog, P4, turn Repeat last two rows until only 4 stitches remain at each end. Knit to end of row 1. Purl next row to end. Next row: (K10, K2tog) twice, Knit to marker, remove marker, knit to last 24 stitches (K2togtbl, K10) twice Knit 3 rows then BO on right side loosely using larger needles if necessary. Weave in ends
