Peanut Butter Hot Fudge Sauce Better Homes & Garden New Cookbook makes about 1 1/2 cups
5 oz semi-sweet chocolate; chopped into pieces 1/4 margarine or butter 2/3 cup granulated sugar 5 oz evaporated milk 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
In that heavy saucepan that is already on the stove add the chocolate and margarine/butter. Place the flame on medium-low. Mix ingredients together. Add the sugar and mix until incorporated. Gradually add the evaporated milk. Stirring every time you add some milk. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat. Boil gently over low heat for 8 minutes. Stirring constantly. After the 8 minutes, remove from heat and mix in the peanut butter. The sauce will thicken once peanut butter is added. Immediately scoop over ice cream and eat. Pour remaining sauce into a container, once it cools place in fridge. I did notice that this sauce does create a shell on the top. Once stirred and reheated it will be fine. When you would like to use again reheat in the microwave 1/2 cup of sauce for 15-30 seconds. Then pour onto ice cream.
