Hand Rnd 1 fsc 64, sl st to form ring being careful not to twist ring. Rnd 2 ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2dc) in same st, [sk next 3 sts, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next st, sk next 3 sts, (2dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next st] around, sl st to top of first ch3. Rnd 3 sl st to ch2 sp, ch 1, [(sc, ch 3, sc) in ch2 sp, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch3 sp] around, sl st to top of first sc. Rnd 4 sl st to ch3 sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp, [(sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch2 sp, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch3 sp]] around, sl st to top of first ch 3.
Materials: Aunt Lydia’s #10 Bamboo, Thread 1 Ball #6 Steel crochet hook/1.75 mm @100 freshwater pearls or other beads for embellishment gold colored sewing thread #9/1.45mm Steel hook for crocheting with the sewing thread Needle Scissors
Notes: Mitt may feel a little tight when just finished, but the bamboo thread stretches quite a bit during blocking. Do not turn at the end of rounds: Right side is always facing you.
Rnd 5-15 repeat rnds 3-4 for lace pattern, end after a round 3, but do not fasten off. Rnd 16 (Thumb hole round) sl st to ch3 sp, ch 3, dc in same sp, skip over the (next shell, ch3 space, next shell), [(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch3 sp, (sc ch 3, sc) in next ch2 space] around, end with 2 dc in same ch3 space as first ch3, dc in top of ch3 (dc counts as a ch2 sp). Rnd 17 ch 1, (sc, ch 3, sc) in same sp, sk next dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2, 2 dc in next dc, sk next dc, [(sc, ch 3, sc) in ch2 sp, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch3 sp] around, sl st to top of first sc Rnd 18-21 (or until desired length) Repeat rounds 4-3 of lace pattern, ending after a Rnd 4. Rnd 22 (Edging round) sl st to ch2 sp, (ch 3, 4 dc) in same sp, [sc in ch3 sp, 5 dc in ch2 sp] around, sl st to top of first ch3. Fasten off, weave in ends.
Cuff Edging Rnd 1 ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2dc) in same st, [sk next 3 sts, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next st, sk next 3 sts, (2dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next st] around, sl st to top of first ch3. Rnd 2 ch 3, dc in next dc, [5 dc in ch2 sp, dc in next 2 dc, sc in ch 3 sp, dc in next 2 dc] around, sl st to top of first ch 3. Fasten off. Weave in ends. Pre-string 50 beads or pearls onto sewing thread. With wrong side of (inside part) of mitt facing you, using #9 steel crochet hook, add the beads every other stitch by inserting hook into stitch, yarning over, pull through loop, push bead close to the hook, yarn over and complete the stitch (single crochet).
