tramuntana My tramuntana shawl design is a bottom up, easy and fun to knit pattern with a picot edge. I was inspired by the little waves of the Mediterranean Sea, created by the tramuntana winds. abbreviations CO

design by Martina Sommer, `SommerElfchen´ This entire pattern and its design are subject to copyright. This material may not be reprinted or used for commercial purposes. Please, do not sell any `tramuntana shawl´ without my authorisation. 2012

Please note: *The YO of this pattern will be knitted on the WS. -Have your yarn in front of both needles. Make your YO by wrapping the yarn counterclockwise with a full turn around your right needle before you will do the P2Tog. -The CO1 which you will find in each row, will be casted on through the last stich. Have the yarn behind your project. Pull the yarn through the last stich knitwise a little towards you, make a twist of about 90 degrees with your right needle and let the left needle pick up the loop. Now you will have 2 stiches on your left needle. The `new born stich´ will always be a K1 and your last stich will be a P1 at the end of each row.

-Please knit(K) the YOs (see row 6) from the WS on the next row (RS) with a twist to avoid big eyelets. Make your stich (K) through the backside of the stich. This technique will give the pattern its character.
