Context Bonobo is a British music producer and DJ. His style of music is described as instrumental hip hop, or trip hop. Bonobo's music is unique because he himself plays many of the instruments featured within his music. He also uses a variety of samples to create the eclectic sound he is renowned for. Brief or Tasks Redesign Bonobo's 5 album covers. Design them in a consistent manner and to work as a set. Design an artistic concept that can be applied to all 5 albums and additional promotional material such as poster and flyers. Preparation/Research suggestions Research the work of designer Leif Podhajsky who has designed previous album artwork for Bonobo and similar artists. Podhajsky is designs consistent artistic concepts and applies them to the albums he designs, making his style easily recognisable. Research different techniques of music promotion. Look into the different types of promotional material that can be designed. Carry out primary research in music venues. Look into the alternative methods of music promotion. Evidence – for this project students should submit A set of 5 album cover designs. An artistic concept that can be continually applied to promotional material for Bonobo. Research from primary and secondary sources that is regularly updated on blog.
