JAPAN DAY 5/10/15 By: Elizabeth Yim//Senior Key Club Member I was really looking forward to Japan Day because I’ve heard other Key Clubbers gush about how fun it was for a year. When I was given the chance to be a volunteer at the event, I was incredibly excited, but my expectations did little to prepare me when I saw the hundreds of people who turned up for the event, the intricate and very accurate costumes the cosplayers wore to celebrate Japanese manga and anime, and the never-ending long lines for the onigiri. I volunteered in the Domo tent, and it was so fun for me to see hundreds of people lining up to take a picture with Domo. It was great to see as many adults excited as kids, and it really showed me how much Japanese culture has spread to different factions of society.

AIDS WALK 5/17/15 Hunter Key Clubbers volunteered at the AIDS walk on May 17th by walking 6.5 miles around the upper east and west sides to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS!

Dance Parade 5/16/15 By Crystal Liu//Vice-President

On Saturday, May 16th, Hunter Key Club volunteered at the Dance Parade, which spanned around twenty blocks. This parade featured over a hundred dance numbers. We arrived at about 9:30am that morning, received our volunteer shirts and badges, and worked on the given tasks. Because there were over 10,000 participants in the parade, our most crucial job was to make sure everyone was lined up accordingly. We also had to make sure the dancers were ready to go at a specific time. When we didn’t have a specific assignment to do, we promoted the parade with flyers and pamphlets to passersby. Although the day was hectic, we had fun helping the Dance Parade and watching the culturally diverse and different-style dances.

May Divisional 5/19/15 By: Angela Li//Divisional Historian

The May Divisional was held on May 19th from 5:30-7:00 at Laguardia High School. There were over 50 key club members in attendance, including several Hunter Key Club members. The Divisional started out with the Lieutenant's governor's address and was followed by recaps of the service month by a representative of each club in the district. Distinguished Key Club pins were also handed out and several Hunter Key Club members received one. After all the paperwork and other formalities were done the group was divided into several smaller groups for some fun icebreakers. There were several games going around at the same time. Several groups played the game "Bibity Bobbity Bop" while others played a toilet icebreaker game and a story icebreaker game. Overall the May Divisional was a pleasant event that many people enjoyed. Hopefully there will be more Hunter at the June Divisional!

June Divisional 6/12/15 The June Divisional was held at Nest + M High School on June 12th. Head of the publicity committee Aashika introduced the PIRC Committee. Past projects were discussed, such as the AIDS walk and upcoming projects, such as DTC and ICON. The Amazing Race was also discussed so get hyped!

Divisional Training Conference By: Sophia Zhang//Bulletin Editor The Divisional Training Conference was held at Bayside High School on June 14th. Key Clubbers from all different divisions gathered together to attend workshops and learn about various aspects of Key Club life. Workshops ranged from coding by Senior Danny Qiu and photography by Sunny Ou. There were also workshops for specific board positions to teach the students how to aspire to receive these positions or improve in their job. In addition, there was also K-Fair, where all the key clubbers come together and have one big icebreaker. The money earned ($268) all went towards the Eliminate Project.
