Light the N

Night

Light the Night is a fundraising campaign to help fund the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and their research to find blood cures. Hunter Key Clubbers volunteered on October 3rd at this walk by supporting the walkers and directing them to the correct location. They helped out by creating the lanterns for the walkers and signing them in.

Fall Rally On October 24th, Hunter Key Club attended Fall Rally at New York University. They attended different workshops to learn about different divisional and district projects, such as the Thirst Project, the Giving Circle, and the Eliminate Project. Other workshops included learning about different skills such as photography and graphic designing. They also attended different bonding activities such as knitting and swing dancing. A few of Hunter Key Club’s members even hosted their own workshop!

Hunter Key Club had the club open house on October 9th! During lunch time, Key Club board members went to the auditorium and advocated for new members! This year, we had over 200 students sign up! Many parents were there as well, asking the board members questions about the purpose of Key Club.

Club Open House

First Meeting On October 22nd, Hunter Key Club had their first meeting! Over 50 students came to see what Key Club is all about. After introducing the board talked about what Key Club presents and which schools are in Division 11. After that, the club played an icebreaker game with newspapers. The winning team won chocolate! If you haven’t gone to a meeting yet, roll through on Thursday Activities in room 220! It’s not too late to join!

Starting from the beginning of the year, Hunter Key Club has been selling chocolate. The club is raising money to eliminate maternal neonatal tetanus from third-world countries. Kiwanis international pledged to raise up to 110 million dollars to donate. In addition, they will also donate to other causes like UNICEF, pencils of promise, and subsidize the cost of LTC. Watch out for students who have chocolate boxes! Come to key club if you would like to sell a box of chocolate!
