s China is not simply one homogenous country but made up of many regions and social groups it’s not surprising that customs and traditions surrounding the celebration of Chinese New Year vary widely throughout the vast country. Most celebrations centre on the three main days starting this year on Friday 31st January, but the festivities can spread over 15 days. People make long journeys to be at home for this special celebration, so much so that it’s one of the greatest annual human mass transportation events in the world. Tradition dictates that families thoroughly clean their house to sweep away back luck and welcome good luck into the home. The evening preceding Chinese New Year’s Day is an occasion for families to gather for their annual get-together. Red paper posters urging happiness, good fortune, wealth and longevity decorate homes and businesses, and red firecrackers add to the festivities.

Nowhere is the population more diverse than in Yunnan province. Located in the far southwest of China, Yunnan shares borders with Burma, Laos and Vietnam. The mountainous province is famous for its beautiful scenery and rich diversity of plant life. With a population of close to 50 million, Yunnan is also home to 51 of the 56 ethnic minorities in China and they account for around 34% of the population. These exotic groups have their own characteristic homes and their clothes can be very colourful and distinctive according to their ethnicity. They have their own languages and dialects and celebrate diverse festivals with delightful names such as the water-splashing festival and the torch festival.

Some of the enchanting descriptions for Yunnan describe it as the place south of the colourful clouds and the capital Kunming is known as the city of perpetual spring due to its year round mild climate. Kunming is known for many local delicacies, including Across the Bridge Rice Noodles said to have originated when a scholar’s wife found the noodles were soggy when she took them to him so separated the noodles from the broth until she had crossed the bridge and arrived and mixed to two together. Yunnan happens to be one of the most popular tourist destinations in China. Ethnic minorities in China

Located at the junction of Tibet, Sichuan and Yunnan, Shangri-La is said to be very much like its description in the novel Lost Horizon. In Tibetan, Shangri-La means the sun and moon in heart and this mystical and harmonious valley features stunning scenery; snowy mountains shrouded in fog, steep gorges and endless stretches of grassland. The well-preserved old city at Lijiang has retained its authentic historic townscape dating back more than 800 years and blends together elements of its ethnic minorities. It was once the hub of trade and a political, cultural and education hotspot in the region. One of the most famous and most photographed sights in Yunnan is the glacier Jade Dragon Snow Mountain near Lijiang. With an altitude of 5600m the mountain actually has three climate zones ranging from sub-tropic to temperate to glacial and is a sanctuary for rare plants and animals. National Australian Bank in Logan
nab
A part of our community
When contacting a bank to talk about their business, you would expect the usual remarks about home loans and interest rates. But NAB, National Australia Bank, isn’t your standard bank, writes Samantha Lee. NAB believes that their foundation is based firmly on the community around them. So they strive to be involved wherever they can, with their staff working to support the needs of local community groups. Niamh Bell, manager of the Logan Springwood branch, says they are always looking for community groups or schools to get involved with and throw their support behind. “Even though we are working with groups regularly, I feel that we can do more and get more involved in the Logan community,” Niamh says. NAB has just taken part in the Springwood Central State School Twilight Festival where they had stalls with prizes and giveaways and donated a $500 cheque to the school. They also participated in the Lions Youth of the Year Award, sponsoring a public speaking program. Another project NAB supported was Pacific Links, an initiative at Woodridge State High School to improve post-school options for a diverse range of students. NAB presented a $30,000 cheque to the school. “We want to get more involved with schools and are always on the lookout for community groups that we can work with. NAB is very community orientated and if we can help these groups we will,” says Ms Bell. The staff at the Springwood NAB are a young team focused on driving their business forward. With Niamh Bell transferring into the Springwood branch in August and a new home loans officer, they are working to

bring a fresh approach to the banking industry. “Our staff are very Logan orientated. We understand the needs of our community and what they require from a bank,” Ms Bell says. A bank you can rely on and communicate with because they aren’t like other banks, NAB care about the community and work face to face with people and businesses to achieve their goals.
Charlie’s Mobile Branch
A subpart to the NAB branch is Charlie’s Mobile Branch, which is available to provide home loans and other products and services to customers at any time and place that works well for the customer. Charlie Pedraza Arias is the Mobile Banker at Springwood and will talk home loans anywhere. “I love talking to people and listening to their dreams, plans and future! Just tell me when and where and I will drive to your home, office or closest coffee shop; it’s your choice,” Charlie says. “My goal is to provide the best customer experience while tailoring home loan solutions to my clients. This includes debt restructure and recovery so they can get ahead in life and be owners of a home and not a mortgage.” Like all the staff at NAB, Charlie is devoted to his career and works with individuals to provide banking services out of hours and even in your home. It’s all for the benefit of the customer who works long hours and doesn’t always have the time to access a branch. This is just one of the many benefits of the NAB bank and the added extras that they provide to the community to take the banking experience to the next level, whilst keeping their roots firmly within the community.

Logan
cyclists – this is for you
A new business in the Logan area has caught the attention of the cycling community, with exciting new opportunities and experiences for bike enthusiasts, writes Samantha Lee. Touring the world
Adam Gill, owner of Bikestyle Tours, took over the 17-year-old company in October 2013 and has had his hands full organising groups and individuals to tour all over the world to see some of the greatest sporting events in history. Being the fourth largest bike touring group in the world means Bikestyle Tours is a major company bringing in business on a global level to the Logan area. “We have up to 300 people book for the Tour De France,” Adam says, “including cyclists, families and spectators. We don’t only show them the event, we see the sites and experience the culture as well.” Adam says it’s really important to connect individuals with the cycling community and create a good culture. “It’s a small community and it’s not out of the ordinary to see people you know while on tour and visiting these major events.” Bikestyle Tours is notably the largest tour operator group for cycling within Australia and a truly competitive business, being up there with the best on a global level. Visiting major cycling events

such as Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, Tour Down Under, Spring Classics and the Tour of California, there will be an event to please everyone. While a passion for cycling is an obvious requirement for such a tour, ‘Bikestyles’ caters for spectators and families who wish to go along to see these amazing sporting events or to provide support for family members in the races. “We cater for all levels of riders and have different activities available. While the main focus is the races, we also have ample time to see the sites and experience our surroundings. So we really can please everyone,” Adam says. “We also organise bike hire, so there is no need to drag your bike overseas.” uu Page 14

BUILD A BETTER BUSINESS
WITH SMALL BUSINESS SOLUTIONS & SOUTH CITY BULLETIN Building success
Getting off to a good start for 2014 are six local businesses who jumped at the chance to be the first participants in the Small Business Solutions and South City Bulletin business workshops and mentoring.
S
mall Business Solution (SBS) is known for its innovative and award winning approach to helping Queensland businesses get the fundamentals right by equipping small business owners and managers with the skills needed in today’s volatile marketplace. This is achieved through their Build a Better Business program which uses accredited business skills mentors who understand what’s happening in a diverse range of businesses, and the critical need to review, refine, and where needed, restructure small business processes. South City Bulletin magazine as a small, local business understands the needs of the Logan economy and, with a media partnership with Small Business Solutions over the past three years, determined the time was right to offer sponsorships to local business owners and managers so they could take advantage of the SBS workshops and mentoring.
From left, Eric Fernance, Andrew Gorman, Julie-anne Faranda, Roland Cowman, John Hebrard, Linda Innes, Lisa Smith and JB Wu,
Mentor making a difference Business skills mentor John Hebrard has been chosen to lead the workshops and mentoring as he has a wide range of experience in small business, franchising, sales and marketing and management over a successful 25 year career. John has the strategic knowledge and expertise that make for an ideal mentor: commitment to ongoing training and development; a passion for finding effective solutions; and the professional know-how of what makes for understanding the customer and staff. John says that the business plan should be formulated with critical drivers and key performance indicators built around operations, marketing, sales, administration, and financial return. He intends to help the participants understand the importance of offering viable and attractive products, how to analyse trends and develop benchmarks for their small business.
Over the next six months readers of this magazine will get to track the progress of the participants who come from businesses as diverse as beauty therapy, foster care, retail and professional services. You will be able to read about the challenges they face in the areas of marketing, staff management, understanding the financials and the laws and regulations that underpin the complex business world of today. They will have their SBS business skills mentor John Hebrard in their workplace to guide them through the legal requirements in their industry, help them build their client relationships, how to develop an innovative team and most importantly, to plan and grow their finances. The Build a Better Business program that John Hebrard presents includes producing a practical, user-friendly business plan and developing an action plan. Participants will gain a Cert IV in Business Management on completion of the course. Philip Fung, Manager of Small Business Solutions, says, “Our Build a Better Business program provides small business owners with the skills to consolidate their existing knowledge base as well as formulate and execute a sound business plan to achieve success in the years ahead.” At just $395 for five workshops, including two hours one-on-one mentoring in your workplace as well as networking opportunities and business mentoring support the Build a Better Business program is great value. Build your competitive advantage by enhancing business skills, profitability and growth.

FEBRUARY 2014
Back to school F or many families, the beginning of the school year marks the end of the festive season and the start of a familiar routine. For students, the care-free days of rest and recreation come to an abrupt end, replaced by schoolwork and study. Students returning to school can experience a range of emotions, with new challenges to face and goals to achieve. However, while students keep busy with their day-to-day pursuits, many may not fully appreciate the importance of their schooling years. Education is in fact one of the most critical factors in ensuring our youth gain the skills and knowledge to achieve meaningful employment and enjoy future success. A child’s schooling success can be greatly influenced by the teachers, staff and chaplains who educate and guide our children. They play such an important role in our society and their positive influence can shape a child for life – I am so grateful to them for the difference they make. I am also very proud of Logan’s quality educational facilities. With over 70 schools as well as TAFE campuses and a university, our city has a bright future. Here in Logan, our City Council strongly supports education through improved reading and literacy in our community. Hundreds of activities
Logan supports reading
and events are held in our nine Logan libraries every year as part of our aim to encourage literacy and learning for all ages. If you haven’t visited one of our libraries, I would encourage you to do so, and open up a world of knowledge for you and your children.
PAM PARKER
Message from the mayor of Logan City
In addition to our many library services, in 2013 I initiated the Mayor’s Reading in Schools Program to offer some of our local schools additional classroom reading support. With the support of Council and our libraries, the program recruited 44 council staff who volunteered their personal time to read to Grades One and Two students at several local schools in Logan. With nearly 200 children reached during the year, the Mayor’s Reading in Schools Program has been so successful it was recently recognised by the Queensland Public Libraries Association as the ‘2013 Big Ideas Award’ winner. I also support many other reading programs throughout Logan including the Mayor’s Reading Challenge, the QuoCKa reading program (Quota,Cops ‘n’ Kids) and the work of Caring Women United volunteers who read in schools. If you would like to be involved in a reading program, please
contact my office on 3412 4226 or email mayor@ logan.qld.gov.au. I believe that if we are going to create a positive and prosperous future for our city, we must ensure all our children continue to develop their reading skills and gain a good education, so they can qualify for the jobs of the future and live a desirable lifestyle. So as our children return to the school routine, my message to them is to start the year with a positive attitude, showing commitment to their school work and study. A good work ethic will allow them to take charge of their life and will empower them to create whatever future they want. Don’t forget our ‘Coffee and Chat’ events have commenced again this year, with Division 2 residents invited to our next event on Friday 21 February. Come along from 10 am to 12 pm at the Underwood Marketplace Coffee Club to speak with myself and Deputy Mayor Cr Russell Lutton. We hope to see you there!

The Power of WHY…..…. A
nyone who has been around young children will have surely heard them ask “why?” Why is the sky blue or why do I have to go to bed or eat my Brussel sprouts? As adults we learn to stop asking “why” and start just accepting the world around us. We take things for granted. It just is. The world loses a little of its magic with each passing year. And then suddenly something makes us stop and start to question again. 2013 was just such a year. Our lease was up and we wanted to move our practice. Where to move to? Do we buy or rent? What will we call the new business? The questions kept coming. When should we move? Should we move home closer to work? What should the new place look like? What sort of fit-out? What facilities will we need? What do we want to change? What would the ideal practice look like? Then I started to get that sinking feeling as the questions no longer washed over me but started to drag me under. I am sure you know that sinking feeling where you are swamped by choices.
Patient care
In these situations there is only one answer and paradoxically it is “why?” Why are we moving? Because it will be better for our patients. Why? We will have the space and facilities we need to give them our best care. Why is this important? Because I want to be the best chiropractor I can be for them? Why is this important? Because many of them have problems that no one else can help them with. And so I got to the heart of the matter. I had a shoulder problem that I was told needed surgery. The thought of getting shoulder surgery in your late twenties and the possibility of being physically constrained and limited for the next 60 years scared the heck out of me. So I got a second opinion, started chiropractic treatment for my shoulder, and found that after about 6 weeks I had more energy, was breathing better, had a more positive mental attitude, slept better, my posture had improved and yes the shoulder was pretty good too. So after a few more years of deliberation (I like to be thorough!) and seeing the benefits of ongoing chiropractic care I had a career change.
transformation
www.southcitybulletin.com.au
Changing Career
There are some benefits to having a career change as an adult; you are very clear on what it is you want. I crammed a five year medical degree into three and half years and still graduated with distinction. Why all the medical content in the course? As a chiropractor I need to know whether someone’s back pain is coming from prostate cancer which has spread to the spine, an abdominal aortic aneurysm, a kidney stone/infection (stuff we don’t treat and instead send you straight to the ER department at the nearest hospital) or a bone/muscle/nerve/joint problem which is something we are good at treating. After graduation, I went and worked in a medical centre in Vietnam for a few years before returning to Australia and working in the Brisbane area. The medical centre I worked at in Vietnam had doctors from Israel, America, the U.K., Vietnam and Australia. It was good to see how GP’s work and do things, their approach to pain and their thought process. It helped me understand where chiropractic could play a role when everyone was working toward the same thing: the best outcome for the patient.
FEBRUARY 2014
Springwood Clinic from left Kimberly Rosser, Nhu Duong and Andrew Gorman
Going back over all of this helped me get clear on the “why” of what we were doing. We moved to Springwood to a great location near good GP’s and dentists. Not all headaches are due to a dodgy neck. High blood pressure and jaw problems can cause headaches and it is good to know I can refer these cases out locally. This journey wasn’t always easy (nothing worthwhile ever is). It was hard to find a suitable location. Once we found one and started renovating, we found termites, damp problems, dodgy wiring, one job created three more in its place and it feels like we have been living in a construction site for several years not several months. During all this we moved house and my wife gave birth to our first child, we had to hire staff and I began a course which meant I had to go to Sydney once a month for six months, and the council decided it was a good time to do two months of road works right outside our front door. But that’s all behind us now. Our renovations reflect our standards and ideals and our patients enjoy being here as much as we do. We can now put on a clinic birthday and Christmas BBQ annually for our patients; we really like our patients (many become friends) and enjoy spending time with them socially. We can now provide our high quality healthcare, which is also friendly and personalised, in an environment to match.
It was worth asking “why”.

Australia’s first Skills
for Industry agreement signed in Logan City Every Logan City job services provider will work in conjunction with Logan City Council and local businesses to train jobseekers and place them into employment following the signing of an Australian-first Memorandum of Understanding. The agreement, part of the Skills for Industry pilot program, meets a priority outcome identified in February’s Logan: City of Choice Summit – to have job services providers work with industry to encourage entry level positions be filled by people from high unemployment areas. Deputy Mayor Russell Lutton (Division 2) said Logan had an estimated 21,000 businesses generating more than 72,000 jobs in sectors such as manufacturing, retail, construction and community services. “The aim of this pilot project is to connect job services providers with industry so we know where the jobs are available and the skills that job seekers require to be successful in those jobs,” he said. “By putting industry skills needs, recruitment requirements and training at the core, we know this project will lead to greater outcomes for everyone involved. It is a win-win for industry, job seekers and job services providers.” Job seekers will undergo a training program, coordinated by the Logan Office of Economic Development (LOED) and facilitated by registered training organisations, to ensure they are job-ready. LOED recently surveyed local businesses to identify the gaps in workforce skills needs. The main skills sought by local industry included knowledge of a trade or the industry, good work ethic, reliability, math and literacy skills.
IN BRIEF SLOW DOWN: Queensland drivers are being urged to slow down around schools with hundreds of students headed back to school on Tuesday. Acting Police, Fire and Emergency Services Minister John McVeigh said drivers needed to take extra care in schools zones as children were often unpredictable. “Children may duck out onto the road or misjudge traffic, but by slowing down just a few kilometres you could help prevent a tragedy,” Mr McVeigh said. “The safety of all road users is a priority and I ask all drivers to take extra care around Queensland schools to help protect our youngest citizens.” _____________________________________________ KINDY: Funding from the State Government will help provide 700 extra children across Queensland with access to Kindy this year. Nineteen new or extended services would open this year - on top of the existing 126 kindergarten services which have been established in Queensland since 2010, providing more than 5,500 extra places for Queensland children. Parents wanting to locate their local kindergarten can call the Kindy Hotline on 1800 454 639 or visit www.qld.gov.au/kindy. _____________________________________________ School disciplinary powers: Queensland state school principals will have greater powers to discipline students in 2014 as part of the Great Teachers = Great Results program which will give principals the increased authority they’d been asking for. Principals can now implement solutions that best fit the unique needs of their own school community. _____________________________________________ TERM DATES 2014: Queensland state schools Term 1 - Tuesday 28 January to Friday 4 April Term 2 - Tuesday 22 April to Friday 27 June Term 3 - Monday 14 July to Friday 19 September Term 4 - Tuesday 7 October to Friday 12 December. Year 12 students will finish on Friday 21 November, and Years 10 and 11 finish their school year on Friday 28 November, with most other state schools breaking up on 12 December.

Food links us to the past
ood and memory are so inexplicably linked that, as Proust famously said, a spoonful of tea in which he had soaked some madeleine cake could transport him back to his childhood. We all have these food memories of our mother’s fruit pies, our aunt’s schnitzel or fathers’ corn beef fritters, which can magically transport us to another time, another place. As we journey through life and have to face its inevitable trials and disappointments, food can be more than a source of physical nourishment. It is a link to our past, our family, to those we have loved and to those who have passed away. It can be as e Pie memade Appl Treasured Ho Recipe: e recipe her’s apple pi This is my mot e wireless th m e got fro that I believe sh 30 e in the 19 s. powerful as a medicine and a salve to our emotions. We live in a time where a lot of food is mass produced. The market is dominated by large players like fast food outlets and supermarkets with little room for individual players. But each day we can decide to nourish our heart and soul with food reminiscent of our childhood. I sometimes feel sorry for the children of the current generation whose food memories will be linked not to a treasured family recipe but to a Happy Meal or a chicken nugget. But the advantage of living in this time is the access to advances in technology. No longer do we have to rely on an old tattered notebook for the keeping of our treasured memories. We can record our loved ones preparing their signature recipes for future generations on our computer or smart phone. I urge you to take a little time this week to slow down and cook something that reminds you of a forgotten time or a departed loved one. Know that life is fleeting and should be celebrated in the small details. This Apple and Raspberry Crumble is my own quick version: 1. Mix a cup of flour with half a cup of sugar, half a cup of butter and half a cup of coconut. 2. Put a tin of pie apples in a small oven proof dish with a handful of frozen raspberries and top with crumble mix. 3. Bake until golden brown.
This is an example that recipes can be adapted to the time that is available without losing their meaning. So next time you are feeling down or missing someone who is no longer with you, cook one of their recipes and celebrate the time you had together. Bon appétit and happy memories! LOGAN CITY

S
o here we are, the second month into the New Year. Most of us have already fallen off the bandwagon. The New Year always brings a string of NY resolutions, most of which we have failed by now.
5 ways to jump start and stick to your New Year’s resolutions 1. Set a start date: The one vital ingredient missing on all NY resolutions is when you are going to start. Tomorrow is not an option. Pick a day of the week that best suits your lifestyle. 2. Set an end date: By end date, I mean a day when you can measure your success. It can be a birthday, an anniversary or some other special event. 3. Plot some in-between dates: Depending on how long you’ve set for yourself to achieve your goal, these dates can be any number of days apart. Here at the studio, we set our clients a 3month goal and set up two revision dates every four weeks. 4. Spend more time clarifying your ‘why’ than the ‘what’: One flaw in most people’s goalsetting process is that they focus on the ‘what’, rather than the ‘why’. For example, if you set a weight loss goal, you tend to focus on the scales or the clothes feeling looser, rather than the more important, ‘why’. Why do you want to lose weight? 5. Surround yourself with fire fighters not fire starters: Fire starters are people in your life who sabotage your efforts. While you can’t keep them away, you can choose to NOT advertise your plans to them. Instead, focus on getting people involved in your journey who will help you.

Personal training SPECIAL OFFER for 10 local blokes: Get in quick! This year at Pat Rae Personal Training we are changing direction! We are narrowing our reach by focusing on only helping those whom we can best serve. So, for the next three months we are targeting ONLY MEN, but not just any bloke. We are looking for a special kind of guy, one who is just like me. You’re probably aged between 40 and 50 and live or work here in Springwood or the surrounding suburbs. You’ve over indulged over the past few years and let yourself go. Maybe you’ve got a little pot belly hanging over your belt. Chances are you’re married with kids that you still need to run around after, but you’re struggling to keep up because of 20 years of focussing on family and career. You don’t have a lot of spare time up your sleeve, so you can’t waste precious time flogging yourself at the gym for hours in the evening. You’re simply looking at losing a little bit of body fat from your overhanging belly, get some of that lost strength back and maybe increase your energy levels so that you can cope with your hectic family life. If this sounds like you then maybe we can help. For the first 10 guys only (Ladies, if your man fits the bill then feel free to contact me on his behalf. ) I’ve got 3 x 60 min. 1:1 personal training sessions for only $19.99 (That’s a massive 75% saving) Simply call me on 0414 654 372 (quoting South City Bulletin) to book yourself (or your man) in for your first session. Let’s get those New Year resolutions actually being achieved this time round!

The main objective of these tours is to offer exciting trips with lots of riding and race watching opportunities, while offering great value for money. Bikestyle Tours also offers tours for groups, even school groups, to go over and experience these events. They are able to cater for all cycling levels within the races. Avid enthusiasts can take their own stride or groups of friends can stick together on the circuit; the needs of all who go on these tours will be met.
Logan training circuit
An active member of the community Adam, an accredited Level 2 Cycling Coach, also provides bike coaching and takes people on circuits of Logan and Brisbane city, to not only get outdoors but to prepare them for the tours. This year alone the cycling enthusiast has visited Adelaide, Japan, France, Italy and California, taking groups all over the world to truly experience these amazing sporting events. “We do circuits of Logan and Brisbane to get people ready for tours and really build relationships within the cycling community.” ‘Bikestyles’ is notably the only way to truly see these cycling events where participants can ride along scenic roads, through villages, visit famous landmarks such as previous Tour de France sites, and of course enjoy fine food, wine and shopping.
N
ewspapers and the nightly news deliver a bleak picture of society, global warming, natural disasters, apathy and violence. Along with political unrest and religious and cultural indifferences, there is a growing public understanding for the need to protect our society and the environment. Awareness for saving endangered animals and the ecosystem has increased. People are talking about the power of positive thought, meditation, and the importance of harmony and happiness. We are all looking for conformity and social agreement in these challenging times. According to the numerology vibrations of 2014, we have the opportunity to seek out some composure amid any confusion.
Number 7
2014 is a year 7 and a time for choices and learning. Questions about life and the urge for truth, dignity and what is ideal are the main themes for a year 7, regardless of whether it is on an individual or worldly scale. The planet is not magically going to improve overnight. It is through bringing to light those situations that we are dissatisfied with, that stimulate the want for change. We are given the opportunity to pursue a better life through examination of our values.

Welcome to the New Year! As we start off 2014 with hopes for a successful year I’m hoping that you have had a look at what you are doing and revised your business plan, profit expectations and how to deliver and sell your goods and services. One of the downfalls I find as I travel around and visit many businesses is the lack of service. This year the Chamber is going to do workshops on basic business principles and the first workshop will be on Service. I believe that the only real competitive edge we have in business today is service. Why do people come back to you? How do you handle someone who shops on price alone? People buy off people they like and trust. The old chestnut, you only get one chance to make a good first impression applies more than ever before. That first impression is service above and beyond. The first person a customer meets IS your business. So why isn’t that person smiling, helpful and pleasant? They don’t need to know everything about the business but they do need to be welcoming and make the customer feel they have done the right thing by coming into your premises with the intention of buying something. We want every business in Logan to be a success so they can share their story and help create a better environment for all to benefit.
2014 could bring frustrations when circumstances or relationships are forced. Slow down and think before acting. Depression is not uncommon during a period of 7, but it can be avoided or at least understood. Consider rather than speculate. ‘Appreciate’ rather than ‘take for granted’. Reflect on the present and how to improve the future without brooding on the past. Overanalysing will only stop the flow of acceptance. You already have the answers – all you need to do is acknowledge and move ahead.
Number 2
The universal vibrations of the number 2 have been playing a background tune since 2000. Regardless of the state of affairs within your life, hope is a theme for the number 2. It is hope that gives us the patience and endurance to aspire to greater things in life. The flexibility of number 2 encourages us to be resilient and adaptable, which are much needed qualities in this modern and sometimes difficult age. The essences of the number 2 have the attributes of social agreement such as respect, diplomacy, togetherness and tranquillity. The nature of the number 7 is to develop through learning, probing for answers and mind power. All of these traits can work together for your personal advancement and global evolution.

I have been a member of the Logan Chamber of Commerce for six years now and can honestly say that we have successfully grown our business by being a part of the chamber. The opportunities to network and create great business relationships are frequent and the functions are designed to give business owners the opportunity to network and learn something that helps with their business. Our business supports other chamber businesses because we believe in doing business locally. As a result of these activities SuperGeek regularly receives work from other local businesses in the Logan area. Being directly involved in the chamber as an active member has increased this business by at least five jobs a month. The Logan Chamber

GRAND VISION – Free book!
Author Mike Cole’s novel, Grand Vision, will be welcomed by those thinking electors who hold the old fashioned view that elected politicians should vote in accordance with the wishes and interests of those people WHO PUT THEM INTO PARLIAMENT. Don Chipp -Founder of The Australian Democrats party. In this fast moving suspense novel with its tender romance subplot, TV idol and current affairs presenter, Christine Jordan, detests party politics and is determined to make governments accountable to the people. Key target for her crusade is Prime Minister, Rex Marlow. Her scathing interviews with politicians erode the credibility of Marlow’s government. He responds with action to remove her from television. Christine meets Mark Radford and subsequently his father Bruce, who presents a radical plan to give control over politicians to the electors in their individual electorates. Christine excitedly embraces his philosophy and puts her tremendous public appeal, skills and enthusiasm behind Radford’s Grand Vision. Massive public support follows her TV promotion of Radford’s ideas. Facing certain defeat at the fast approaching election, the now deranged Marlow is driven to panic. Insanely desperate, he arranges to have Christine assassinated. For FREE Electronic copy simply email: jmpcole@ claremontresort.net.au and ask for a FREE COPY of GRAND VISION
