ast Saturday night, the VYCM Sabres proved victorious against a tough, relentless DIamond Valley squad by 2pts. Some great defensive passages (Joe Llubarksy and Ryan Heath) coupled with some delicate post play (Hugh Romancz) early in the affair allowed the Sabres to consolidate an early 17 pt buffer before DV mounted a charge. To the boys credit, they held their nerve and were able to secure a big W despite some questionable decision making down the stretch. 2 VYC Men v Blackburn SATURDAY 4th June 2022
This week the men play a gruelling double header: first, we host a hungry Blackburn squad followed by a fully loaded NBL1 equipped Ballarat team away. Both games in non conference play will be integral in hopefully buoying the men up the ladder as two wins can lift us 3 games over 500- with seven games remaining, each and every possession will make a difference and has been preached by the staff on a multitude of occasions. Keys to the weekend: we will need to play a physical brand of basketball in both games, defend with intent and execute with precision.
