elcome back to the Sabredome for this early start to our Saturday Triple Header! Its been quite a while since the VYC women played at home and coming fresh off a pair of wins last weekend against conference opponents Diamond Valley and Waverley, the team is motivated to continue its streak of solid play against Melbourne Tigers today. With the second half the season now well underway and Melbourne Tigers with the second most wins in our conference,
this will be a big test of our recent play and improvement. As winners of our previous three games, we will be looking to continue the momentum into the final few weeks of the season. Taking care of the ball and limiting turnovers with a good mix of fast paced play and ball movement will be key to take down a strong Tigers team. Last time we played against them was round 2, where we took home the win by 6 points in overtime. Based off last time, today’s game looks to be a battle. GO SABRES! Cal Charge – VYC Women’s Coach

H
ello and welcome back to the Sabredome. It is so good to be back playing at home after a few weeks away separated by the Queen’s Birthday long weekend. We had two great wins since last playing at Tulip street. We beat Kilsyth at Kilsyth and Casey at Casey. Both games were really worrying for us as they have both had great starts to the season. Kilsyth had also signed Chloe Bibby and Casey had signed Abby Bishop, two quality players which
made the wins even more important. These two players are very talented and it was going to be tough to guard them. The most exciting part of the double win is that they were the first win we have had our full team on the court. The double win has given the team confidence that they can take on the remainder of the season. It has given us momentum heading towards the second half of the season as we make a push towards finals. elcome back Sabres! We’re stoked to be back home after a (reasonably) successful road stretch, with big wins against talented Knox and Casey teams being the highlights. We have a huge month ahead of us that will play a big part in where we end up and the end of the season. Tonight we’re up against a Waverley team stacked with NBL or ex-NBL athletes and this game represents the first of three
home games in a row, each against one of the current top three teams. Waverley plays an exciting brand of basketball but hopefully we can match their offensive firepower with great commitment to our defensive scout.
